Lola - DenverAWESOMEget the butternut squash queso. everything is soooo good.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMStrange Brunch fare for CincodeMayoA group of us were so excited to dine at Lola's on Cinco de Mayo. We were all looking forward to some delicious Mexican food. We were surprised that at 12:30 pm, the option was a peculiar selection of "brunch" items. The Lolaburger was okay - not spectacular, the Lola version of an eggs benedict was okay, we had to ask for the Tuna Tacos to be served without tuna substituting out shredded chicken from another dish, anyway you get the picture.
The guacamole was terrific and prepared tableside. We were surprised to be charged $3 for salsa however... Would eat there again, but will make sure we know what is on the menu before going.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was good ( the carnitas,Food was good ( the carnitas, great) and the service was excellent. Highly recommended!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThey have Infinite MonkeyThey have Infinite Monkey wine! Best wine choice on the menu, although only choose that if you don't want a cocktail - the cocktails ROCK!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMLola Makes Every Visit SpecialOur family spent a birthday celebration at Lola and we were delighted. The service was outstanding, attentive and sweet. The menu offers a wide range of choices and the food was excellent. Our favorite part is the waiter who brings the cart to the table and makes guacamole to our specifications. It was noisy but that added to the charm and fun.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent. WeThe food was excellent. We had brunch. I had the Lola Bowl which was a great mix of sausage, egg, sauce, etc. My husband had Chicken Fried Steak and while he enjoyed the unusual sauce and the potatoes and chorizo, he said it was too breaded and the steak could have been a higher quality.
Overall, we will be back --- enjoyed a lot!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe guacamole is to die forThe guacamole is to die for and the seafood enchilada was delicious. The lamb appetizer was a bit dry, but tasty. It is a bit hard to hear in there, but it is lively.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFun, vibrant atmosphere. Great,Fun, vibrant atmosphere. Menu changes frequently and we always find something new. Trey the ceviche.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe sometimes forget how muchWe sometimes forget how much we love Lola's. Good cocktails and food!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI could have their guacamoleI could have their guacamole every day! The fish tacos were delicious and the accompanying cabbage, which was somewhat sweet and a little spicy, was super fresh. It's very dark inside so not a warm ambience. The waitress went out of her way and went next door to have a latte made for my friend as they don't have an expresso machine. I'd definitely go back many times and I bet it's great in summer.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThey have a great patio, tooThey have a great patio, too (closed during winter). Gorgeous decor, tastefully done. Service was good, drinks pricey (the average nowadays), except the mimosas at $5 were a decent price. Tableside guacamole was fun and good. Nothing that was "spicy" was particularly hot. Certainly warm, but not hot (although I'm a bit of a pepper junkie). While service was good for us, it was a cold bad weather day and I think they had fewer people than normal. Fun place, good music, too.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter a little research inspiredAfter a little research inspired by coming across a card/mailer for Lola, I made a reservation. Jessica provided personable and knowledgeable service, and she happened to be a friend of my friend! The guacamole made for us at the table was delicious, perfectly spicy & heavy on the garlic, per our request. We followed the guac with oysters--east/west coast and the shooters. We went with Jessica's recommendations for our entrees (the night's special, which I forget, and the Caldo de Mariscos, a menu staple). It was busy, but not noisy--probably average for a Wednesday night. Great place for a few margaritas & a leisurely birthday dinner.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat happy hour drinks andGreat happy hour drinks and menu, service was fabulous, table side guacamole was very tasty.3/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
