  • "This LoHi hotspot has a great bar scene and good (not outstanding) food, but was definitely not the place to go with an old friend for a catch-up conversation. Service was very good. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. With lots of other choices in the neighborhood, we probably won't be back for a while."

  • "I love this place. The food is wonderful and the staff is friendly and attentive. We always get the table-side guacomole; you can't get any more fresh than that and we are addicted. A new appetizer, the grilled octopus, was awesome! We also had the wild mushroom tostada's which were good, but not my favorite of all their dishes; I think it could have used some melted cheese and sour cream to step it up a notch."

  • "I've been dying to go back to Lola for dinner since I came for a happy hour once and was blown away. I wanted to order the whole fish but was told they were out. That's why I only rated the restaurant 4 stars. The drinks and food were outstanding. I'm hoping to return and they have the whole fish next time."

  • "I have been here several times and had a great time but on Sunday it was a terrible experience. It was so hot, we were seated by the kitchen and it was so loud. We watched one of the cooks prep plates with his bare hands. I brought my two friends from out of town and excited to have a fun brunch and the waitress was not attentive, it took 6-7 minutes just to get water and our meal was extremely bland tasting. Only thing positive was the doughnuts for an appetizer. Will think twice before I go back."

  • "Fresh well-prepared seafood. The halibut was excellent. Somewhat lacking in traditional TexMex fare. My dining companion really wanted chicken quesadillas; no idea why. They were on the kids menu. "No problem" for the server, good for him. Great margaritas if you prefer less sweet ones."

  • "Lola's team has been doing it well for years now, and even with changes in the kitchen and behind the bar, the place still knocks it out of the park. Service is spot on from the Host stand right on through dessert. This last visit, server Trevor was perfect: attentive without being intrusive. He asked about our likes/dislikes while recommending items off of the new menu. Chef Kevin Grossi has returned to the fold with a bang. His take on octopus is sublime! The revised salsa sampler has "mango with a kick," and the Carne Asada is as tender as can be. And the overall vibe of the place remains fun, friendly, and inviting (no doubt a requirement of team leaders Jamey, Jen, and Patrick)."

  • "While the ambiance was great, the prices were way to high for the quality and quantity of food received. I paid around $30 for a drink, 1/3 of guacamole and a plate of meat samples. I left hungry and a little bitter that I paid that much and did not have a good experience. The margarita I got was way too strong to drink, I couldn't even drink it, which I did not think was possible."

  • "Lola's seems to never disappoint. Had their signature guacamole made perfectly tableside, with a Silver Coin margarita. You choose the exact ingredients in the guac so it is seasoned to your own taste. Dinner consisted of Lobster Enchiladas. The enchiladas could be improved slightly by reducing the rice and increasing the lobster... I'd be willing to pay more. Both of us who dined had the same feedback. Ambiance was great, not too noisy, but energetic. We sat on the patio 7:00-8:30pm while a thunderstorm passed by. It's an energetic, revived part of Denver that's lots of fun. Walk a half-block up the hill for an ice cream afterwards, but be prepared for a long queue. It's worth it!"

  • "The Ceviche and Guacamole were good but Mussels only so-so. None of the Entrees were that outstanding. Overall I felt that the quality of the food was not worth the price. Perhaps the cost is for the ambiance but even with a reservation we got stuck in the basement and the service was certainly not commensurate with the price. We might go back for the Tequila bar but not for the food."

  • "Definitely a modern twist in Mexican. Atmosphere is vibrant, upbeat and fun. Not a place if you're looking for a quiet evening. Went as a couple, but would have been even better with a large group. Ceviches were dynamite and are a must, they're made to order in front of the dining area. Whole fish was also memorable and was perfectly cooked. Service was mediocre and somewhat absentee, but at least it was efficient and our order was correct. The hospitality piece was lacking a bit though. Overall would definitely recommend and will return."

  • "We had been to Lola a lot in the past and had loved it however, we didn't remember it being known as a Mexican fish house. The food was decent however it's a pretty tough menu especially if you are expecting Mexican food like we were. The margaritas are great and we loved that they aren't made with a mix! Fun patio and bar as well."

  • "This was my third visit to Lola and I'll be back a dozen more times, at least. Hands down, the most consistently awesome restaurant in Denver. Every dish, exceptional. Standouts are too numerous and specials abound. Your best bet is to ask your server to recommend the best dishes of the day. Assistant GM Kristin Eagan is a master of service and warmth, floating around the room like the host of a convivial dinner party. The bartenders bring their A-game and the servers are knowledgable and friendly. This is my favorite restaurant West of the Mississippi."

  • "We sat inside in June for a friends birthday. Note: They do not have fans or air conditioning and as we were sitting right next to the thermostat, it read 86 Degrees F. This made the meal very unpleasant as we were all hot and uncomfortable. The food was terrific as was the staff, I would likely go back in the winter or if they get fans."

  • "My girlfriend and I dined here for my birthday. There wasn't room on the patio, so we ate in the dining room. The ceviche sampler looked fresh, but didn't have much taste (theme for the night). Same with the table-prepared guacamole. The guy added lots of ingredients, but tasted mostly of mashed avocados. For our entree, we split the lobster enchiladas. The tortillas weren't cooked much. It was almost as if they just wrapped them around the lobster and poured sauce over them. I expected more out of the salsa given that they charge $3 for it. We washed it all down with watery margaritas. The best part of the dinner was the (small) scoop of salted caramel ice cream. We won't be returning with so many better places to choose from."

  • "I went to LoLa on a Tuesday evening with an out-of-town friend. I would have preferred to eat at Linger, but Linger was full. The interior of LoLa is dark and uninteresting. The service and food were mediocre. Having guacamole made tableside was intrusive more than anything, and the guy who made the guac could not speak loudly enough for us to hear him. Sitting out of the deck on a beautiful night would have made this fun; sitting inside made me feel trapped."

  • "We went to Lola to celebrate a Birthday with friends (6 people).... it was not special!!! We were put in a booth too close to the bar. An outside table was requested 1 hour before our reservations, but the table was given away. Our wait staff was not knowledgeable about appetizers for a large party or about drinks and several times received the wrong utensils for our meal. We love the food and view of Lola but would not recommend for a special dinner for more than four people."

A couple friends of ours had been previously for happy hour & LOVED it; we took their recommendation & a group of us went for a celebratory dinner. The ambiance, location, noise level & guac were FABULOUS; we should have stuck with bowls of guac & went on our merry way as our meals were certainly GOOD but slightly overpriced for what you got & just nothing memorable. Our friends that had previously gone to happy hour here with with us & said happy hour is definitely the time to go! Another friend had been to brunch here & said it's amazing - so it looks like we just went at the wrong time! Will try again for brunch or happy hour!"

Had one of the coin margs, but it wasn't to my liking but I'm not a connoisseur. Switched to the amber beer and it was up there with Fat Tire, a personal fav. Parking's hard in that area on a busy evening though I did not use the valet which is said to be free."

  • "My husband and I went on our first date there and have been back multiple times. Each time the food is delicious! This past time, I had a flank steak burrito that was on special and it was AMAZING! Surprisingly I had leftovers and I had to make my husband swear he wouldn't eat it. Another favorite part is the freshly made guacamole made right at your table, the way that YOU like it. We definitely will be back again!"
