It was the fifth anniversary for my wife and I. We do a lot of vacationing in Cleveland so we wanted to try one of the city's best. It did not disappoint. We ordered the beef cheek pierogi and jumbo shrimp for appetizers and both were outstanding. She had the lamb and I had the pork chop for our entrées. Simply put, best dinner I ever had. The Lola S'more was decadent especially with a dessert wine. Ambiance and energy in the restaurant were awesome. They surprised us at the end with a happy anniversary cupcake platter with sparkler. It made my wife's night. Food was an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. The waiter was fun and engaging. I would recommend Lola to anyone who loves good food and a good time. I can't wait to go back!

The main course was mostly good. The hanger steak had a very good quality and was large no veggies and a large fries. The fish halibut was way overdone and was more money than the hanger steak. The sturgeon wrapped in bacon ( size of a cotton ball)was good but it was not intended for someone who was hungry. Desserts were made from someone who really studied refined pastry. Delicious!!

Our server Steven was spot on with his recommendations, with marking the table for the next course, and was genuinely a nice guy! He was one of the best servers I have ever had! I have waited a long time to come to Lola's, being a HUGE Michael Symon fan-and although the food WAS great, it did not live up to the lofty expectations I had for it. With that said, certain courses seamed to lack in execution, while only a few blew me away. The beef cheek perogies and the lamb loin were my two favorite dishes, of the five that we tried-I highly suggest them! I would definitely go back again.

We absolutely loved Lola's. We were recommended by a woman in Nantucket who was from Cleveland and she said it was a must to go. We booked our table and was she correct. Food was excellent, service impeccable. Menu was very different and the dessert amazing. We had the "6 a.m." It's fench toast with maple bacon ice cream and caramel sauce. Give it a try. Thank you for making our overnight in Cleveland so special.

I booked this reservation for my wife's 32nd bday and I did it via OpenTable. My wife and I were just recently married about 4 weeks ago so in a sense we were out celebrating her bday and our recent nuptials if you will. My wife wanted to try Lola since we had never been. I booked the reservations and at the end of booking it asks if their are any special requests. I wrote explaining that it was her bday and that we were just recently married and that if they could please start us off with some champagne when we arrived and wish my wife a happy bday. I also asked for some sort of bday cake at the end. They went up & beyond my expectations and did all that was asked and then some. Food was amazing, setting was excellent, and we had a blast.

I believe this was the best dinner I've ever had. We've eaten at Lola's before but I must say the scallops were fabulous. The staff was also outstanding as my husband upset his martini which flowed into the appetizer and both were wisped away and replaced so graciously. Thank you. It was his birthday dinner so it was a special night.

We travel every year from Toronto, Canada to Cleveland to spend a few days there to celebrate my birthday. Love the city and all it has to offer culturally and not to mention a great selection of bars and restaurants. The West Side Market area is a culinary delight for a foodie like me with so many choices in restaurants, shops and of course the market itself. We always visit Lola for a great dining experience. It has everything you would want for a special celebration or just a nice dinner. Can't wait for next year's visit!

We went back to Lola this time with out-of-town friends, and had a wonderful experience. Everything was prepared perfectly, from my sturgeon, to my wife's halibut, to his duck breast and her scallops. One caution - the portions are getting a bit small, as I'm guessing Michael is trying to hold his price points on the entrees at or below $30, so if you're hungry, consider adding a side dish along with your entree.

We had heard such great things about Lola, so we had to go. We live in Pittsburgh and drove to Cleveland and stayed overnight specifically to go to Lola. I personally loved the iPad wine and cocktail list. It was a playground for me! It was so amazing to browse through and see everything I wanted or coveted at the touch of a button. My meal was good. I had the halibut and my husband had the hangar steak. He said his was really good. I was not blown away by the desert. I am a huge desert person, and the deconstructed smokes desert was ok. It wasn't gooey enough or chocolately enough. The marshmallows were too small. Overall, I would go back. The service was great!

I started going to Lola 5 years ago and was always happy with the taste of my food and service. About couple years ago, the food taste became pretty plane, sometimes tasteless. Portions were always small, but it works fine if you can say "wow, this is the best tasting dish I've ever had!" Lately I can't say that. My visit in June 2013 was pretty dissapointing b/c of the food taste - I had some sort of white fish. I enjoyed Trout in October and Lamb Shank was awesome in April'14. This time I got lamb but it was pretty tasteless and nothing special about it. I want to come back to Lola hoping that I'll love this restaurant again, but I always think twice before going there.

Brought my parents from out of town. They were not disappointed. We had all fish courses (oysters, shrimp w/curry, both excellent; then halibut and sturgeon). Service was attentive and prompt, nothing spectacular. Not sure about having the wine list on an iPad makes the wine list any justice. It would be great if pairing recommendations could be included in the electronic version as well. Two things missed the note, though: We had a reservation for 20:45 and the table was not ready until 21:00. We also got what I think is the worst table, around the corner. Bright halogen bulbs shine in the face of people looking to the kitchen, I had to switch places. These two issues could be easily corrected with a little more attention to detail.

I went into the dinner with a high level of expectation that was exceeded at all levels! If you're in Cleveland with your wife or clients, you have to experience Lola Bistro. All dishes look great, but the Pork Chop and Hanger Steak are long term staples for a reason. The atmosphere was elegant-chic with a cool vibe, but not pretentious. Book a reservation and enjoy the experience.

We had a nice table overlooking the open kitchen. It was crowded and noisy with the kitchen audible over it all. The service was prompt and attentive and drinks were very good. Waiter recommended the specialities of the house saying they had been on the menu from the beginning. We had the pierogi appetizer. The meat was delicious the covering though was not cooked well. The hanger steak was fine as was the pork chop. Problem was it felt like they were coasting on their reputation. Other dishes we saw looked good but again as if they had been in the menu for too Long. Having said that we enjoyed our visit and will tell People to try it with our reservations about it

I had an early dinner that was absolutely delightful from the moment I walked in the door until I left. I was visiting Cleveland to work a food show. Several people suggested I dine at Lola. It did not disappoint! I had the heirloom tomato soup, smoked pork chop, green veggie mélange (made at my request) and a glass of Lulu. Everything was wonderful. I was especially impressed with their wine list on the iPad. I will never make a trip to Cleveland without dining at one of Michael Symon's restaurants from here forth!

Beautiful restaurant, wonderful ambiance and outstanding service. A client, a professional chef in New Orleans, insisted that I have dinner here while in Cleveland for an ill-fated Saints game. After viewing the menu online I was fairly well set on my choices. My waiter, Chris R., explained the dishes in further details and made some welcome suggestions. Thank you Chris R. for really attempting and succeeding in making my evening a truly memorable event. My drinks for the evening were the perfectly made Hot and Dirty martinis and a Coochi Barolo with dessert. Sublimely delicious tomato soup. The beef cheek pierogi, crispy pigs ears and the sturgeon were excellent. The brioche french toast with maple bacon ice cream=outstanding.

We had dinner at Lola the night before a Browns game. Our reserved table was waiting when we arrived and we were quickly greeted and seated near the open kitchen which was great to watch all the action. The menu is fantastic and our dinners were both great. The rib eye was perfectly cooked, and you would be surprised just how many places cannot pull off a rare steak, the pork chop was juicy and delicious also. We each had very yummy meal ending desserts and left the restaurant very happy.

Our food was high quality. However, the atmosphere left us wanting more. As a party of 2, we were seated at 5:30 PM for dinner, before the rush, yet were seated basically on top of a table of 6 in a corner. With at least 6 two tops visibly free at the same time we were puzzled. Within 20 minutes another couple was seated next to us. The tables are roughly a foot apart. What was supposed to be a romantic and fun dinner turned into a game of Twister with the servers and unavoidable eavesdropping on others. In my seat I had to actually get up once and lean into the table next to me twice so servers could deliver food to the 6 top. Don't place so much emphasis on the allure of Michael's food over the comfort and ambiance of your guests.

We were visiting from England, taking a favourable comment on a Cleveland Browns forum about the restaurant on faith. And we were glad we did. The starters (smoky tomato soup and beef pierogis) were delicious. For me, the main course, calves' heart, was even better than the starter with the heart cooked to perfection. Certainly could have been more mashed potato - it was barely a smear - and there wasn't enough salsa verde (delightful: exploded off the tongue). My partner had pork chop , the portion size for which, and this will be anathema to Americans, I am sure!, was simply too big. Puddings were tasty but not at the level promised. Service was a little spotty but generally good. Atmosphere wonderful. Ohio red wine rather good, too!

Have lone heard of Lola. Chose to go there for the first time to celebrate my wife's birthday, looking for great food and a romantic but vibrant setting. We were not disappointed. Lola's chef and our waiter lived up to all of our expectations. Particularly enjoyed the duck in a sesame reduction. Very knowledgeable, friendly, energetic. Nicely paced and attentive. Great food. Nice touch of a small spontaneous mini-cake with forever candle with "Happy Birthday" spelled out in a Raspberry glaze on a long plate. We will be back, and not only for special occasions.
