A word from Lola - A Michael Symon Restaurant
Celebrity Chef Michael Symon, along with Executive Chef Joe Swan, lead the culinary team at Lola. Michael's talents in the kitchen eventually led to several Food Network shows including the popular Iron Chef America. Symon is a two time nominee for "Best Chef Great Lakes", by the James Beard Foundation, winning that honor in 2009. Symom has also been recognized in Food & Wine Magazine's feature "Ten Best Chefs in America."




In the heart of Cleveland's E. 4th St. neighborhood, this "local jewel" features stunning decor and sustainable American cuisine. Highlights include, beef cheek pierogies, impeccably prepared meats and seafood, inventive desserts and an extensive wine list featuring over 400 selections.

  • "I've been to Lola before on multiple occasions, and in many ways I leave feeling the same way: underwhelmed. The dishes, while always tasty, lack soul. The menu is largely the same and the dishes are prepared the same way every single time - not a drop more, not a drop less. Obviously consistency is a desirable quality to a great restaurant - but for whatever reason, Lola feels like a food factory churning out the same old same old."

  • "This was our second visit to Lola. We drove from Niagara region, Ontario Canada. We hit a terrible storm on the way this time. We were both so happy with our choices and with our server Steve. He answered any questions we had about the menu and ingredients. Rocco said the pig ears alone were worth the drive! He also was in heaven with the sturgeon. I had the hanger steak for the second time. It was even better than I had remembered. We indulged in dessert and I had a chocolate martini which was perfect. I love watching the action in the kitchen from our seats, which by the way were the same we had for our anniversary last year. We wish Michael Symon would open a restaurant in Buffalo, as we are very close. Thank you Chef Symon"

  • "My friend and I were on a road trip from New York City to Chicago. Upon learning we were stopping in Cleveland, I immediately booked reservations at Lola. This restaurant was the perfect treat - the food was amazing. We split a few appetizers (crispy pork ears, bone marrow, beef cheek pierogies, beet salad), the pork loin entree, and a dessert. The bone marrow and beet salad (particularly the burrata) were heavenly. My friend found the crispy pork ears to be too fried for her taste. I loved the deconstructed s'mores and thought this was much improved compared to other s'mores dishes I've had at other fine dining establishments (ie, Per Se). Anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion (or merely splurge) should visit Lola!"

I had scallops which were delicious and my husband had the halibut which he said was the same. Servers were wonderful and so hardworking! We appreciated the attention to our celebration which we did not expect but was very welcome. A very memorable evening!"

  • "Lola's was a wonderful experience! WE started with the beef cheeks pirogis , and bone arrow cntinued with sharing entre of moulard duck. Not sold on the marrow ,fatty and too rich for us. We ended our meal with the chocolate peanut butter mousse, wow! Awsome finale! More interesting ,the portions were perfect, the wine list was extensive and can accommodate all budgets from the extravagant to the budget conscious dinner. The location was interesting, nestled in the 4th street closed off to pedestrian traffic with the bustling evening crowd promenading while we enjoyed our meal. Valet parking was conveniently next to the restaurant . The service was impeccable as well. We highly recommend Lola's!"

  • "Came from out of town with some friends for a weekend and went to Lola for dinner before a ball game. Staff was very friendly and accomodating and made sure we managed to make it through our meal both without feeling rushed and with ample time to make it to the field for the first pitch. In addition to a great menu (everything was expertly prepared, with layers of intricate and unique flavors across each of of our dishes), the wine list was very well done, with orders able to be entered on a tablet (so you can search by region / grape, look at tasting notes, etc.) and with good bottles available across multiple price points. All in all a fantastic meal; would definitely go back."

  • "We dined outside, our waitress without any fuss arranged the umbrella perfectly for us so that we were all comfortable. I started with the bib lettuce salad and the others had the vegetable soup. The salad was so subtle in seasoning and just the right amount of goat cheese. The main courses and desserts followed in this dreamy absolutely perfect dining experience. Pleasantly surprised at how affordable this was, we will be returning soon."

  • "We were in Ohio on vacation, and I knew that Lola was a Michael Symon restaurant. I've watched him on tv for many years, so I was so excited to check this restaurant out! I was not disappointed. Everything there was fantastic. The only negative thing I have to say is that it was very noisy in there and hard to hear my dinner date. Other than that, everything was great!"

  • "From the moment we walked in to Lola we were treated exceptionally well. The staff were very polite, friendly, and accommodating. The meal was unbeleavable. For appetizers we had the bone marrow and the crispy pig ears, both were delicious. For our entrees we had the scallops and rib eye, both of which were prepared perfectly. If I ever come back to Cleveland I will definitely be returning."

  • "I thought the food was delicious. The only problem is that for the price, the amount of food that is served is inadequate. This includes the salads, the entres, the ale cart sides & desert. For example, if you order the carrot cake you will not get a piece of cake. You will get two chunks which equate to two large bites of cake. Contrast that to ordering a piece of cake at Maggiano's and you could feed 2 people with one of their's."

  • "This restaurant may be a hit in Cleveland, but the meal we had would not succeed elsewhere. On the plus side, the service was very good. Friendly and knowledgeable. However, the dishes were heavy and unbalanced (too much meat, not much else). In addition, the restaurant was very loud and the smell of the open kitchen permeated the entire place. We also arrived 20 minutes early but were not seated until out reservation time even though there were many empty tables both then and after we were seated. The wine list was also unexceptional. The location is not befitting a fine restaurant (it's in the middle of a block of flashy casual restaurants). In short, the food we were served was unsophisticated and the ambiance was lacking."

  • "I should preface this by stating I chose the wrong item for my particular tastes. I have never had this particular protein before, but my waiter suggested it was much like filet. I typically enjoy filet medium to mid-well, but took the waiter's suggestion to order the calve's heart as it comes, mid-rare. It was served with a delicious stone ground mustard seed sauce, with whipped potatoes and brussels sprouts -- all amazing -- but I didn't care for the calve's heart. This menu was more than a little daunting; aside from a pork chop, almost every item was way out of my comfort zone. I know this is swanky dining, but a pasta or chicken or steak or salad option would've been very welcome that night. If you're adventurous, you'll love it."

Decor was fancy without being pretentious. Wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Just what I expected for my first experience with a Michael Simon restaurant."

  • "My wife and I have eaten at Lola probably 20 times and we love it. The staff is well-trained and attentive. Our server made several good food and drink suggestions. The food is always terrific - if you like fish, try the sturgeon! I tend to be more of a fish/chicken person, and the fish is always flaky and moist. The dishes are always really nicely plated, too. Their excellent taste is matched by their beauty. The restaurant is an quaint little alley near other restaurants. There is a lot of foot traffic which gives the restaurant nice energy. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Cleveland. PS - Try the "6 am Special" for dessert - it'll bring tears to your eyes!"

  • "My cousins daughter and I decided to take a summer road trip from Pittsburgh through CA and back to Pgh and the first pick as we were planning-to eat was Lola's and after 6000+ miles it was our last great food find before home. Our "Last Trip Supper" left us with the perfic food memory and taste I'm our mouth. Sooo if we could get to Lola's you really should too! So make your plan and go. Food Fab Foodie"

  • "One of the five best dinners of my life. Great mixed drink selection. My girlfriend went nuts over her red wine. The beef cheek oierogi was the best thing I ate in cleveland. The sauce with the mushrooms complimented the meat and pastry so well. The hanger steak with lola fries and the lamb loin were also superb. The 6am special dessert was amazing as well. Brioche french toast with maple bacon ice cream! Cleveland may be the mistake by the lake but I'll be coming back just for lola."

You have nailed it Michael....I will most definitely recommend Lola's to everyone. Michael's creations on Top Chef I knew I would probably eat them all and enjoy them immensely & I was Absolutely satisfied in person is so worth the trip to Cleveland. I had the Shrimp appetizer OMG making my mouth water as I am writing this review, the Lamb loins were melt in your mouth awesome, the flavors blended wonderfully...& the desserts out of this world.   • "Michael Symon's restaurant did not disappoint! The appetizers were great.My husband loved the crudo. The beet salad was also tasty. The steak was perfectly cooked with a unique favorable that was delicious. The service was almost too good. The pace was a little fast. We barely finished a course before the next arrived. They need to slow things down a bit. Next time we will try for an outdoor table on 4th. Would have been fun.There was an Indian's game so our early reservation hurt us and we didn't think to request outside.Very vibrant scene. We came to Cleveland or the Cleveland Clinic. We will be back at future checkups."

  • "My son & his wife were in Cleveland from New York. We have had excellent dining experiences on my trips to NY, and they had yet to eat at Lola. The only reservation I could get was 9:45p, but it was worth the wait. My son had a succulent pork chop, his wife had fresh oysters & a beet salad, & I had the sturgeon, with a nice bacon wrap. The beef cheek perogies & Lola fries were good as usual. Although my first choice for dinner was sold out at this time, our late night dining at Lola's was comparable to many dinners we have had in NYC."

  • "Lola was a place my husband had been dying to try as he's a huge Michael Symon fan and major foodie. He loved being able to watch what was going on in the kitchen! The atmosphere was so intimate and romantic-- Which I loved. :) The staff were nice and very knowledgeable on everything on the menu. Our server made an excellent recommendation for my dinner as I was torn between salmon or scallops. Though I've no doubt either would have been delectable. We went to Lola for our second wedding anniversary and we will definitely return as often as we can when we visit Cleveland."

  • "We had a great time at Lola's. The staff was tremendously friendly and helpful. THe food was good but portions very tiny and very expensive. Have been here before and had a great table in the middle of the action but this time we were kind of tucked around a corner and so there was no ambience. The biggest total aggrevation was getting to the restaurant due to the unbelievable construction and idiot highway control. It is like they really don't want anyone to go downtown, however that is NOT the restaurant's fault. Just want it known if you make the trek to get there to add an hour to your travel time."
