Diner Reviews
  • "I ordered the spiced tomato soup, and it was an unfortunate choice - tasted like marinara sauce. The rest of my group had delightful meals. I will return, but not order the tomato soup."

  • "Finally I was able to try Lola. I was excited and anticipating greatness. I received a flavorless crudo, a sour tasting cucumber cocktail, and mushy, over cooked pasta. I couldn't even eat very much of it. Sad to say I would not recommend Lola and will not be back."

  • "My wife and I have been married for five years. She has been asking me to take her to Lola's for some time. Finally I obliged. the ambiance was great, the drink menu was vast, and the food was amazing. I was a little worried I would still be hungry afterwards, because the portion sizes seemed a little small. However, I was comfortably full for the remainder of the night. I also cannot stop raving how good the food was that night. I think we will be coming back here really soon."

  • "It was absolutely amazing, I have been there but my guest had not! We loved it....you have another loyal customer! #!"

  • "For the price, I am very disappointed for the variety of taste with my food. The Porkchops my significant other ordered was dry as cardboard. I sent it back and received a replaced plate that was less lean, which did make it less dry, but was still dry. This either tells me that the ingredients and selections were poor, or the preperation was poor. The beef cheeks were nothing that I can boast to my friends about. I ordered a lamb chop, which was pretty good, but not good enough that it should cost $35+. The sauces used to accompany the food had no variations; The Foie Gras appetizer: strawberry jam with nuts and paprika, Lamb chop Entree: Lambchop with red jam sauce, Pork chops with jam sauce... Everything was jam sauced; No diversity."

  • "Our first time at Michael Symon's Lola was not a disappointment. Everything was wonderful, from the excellent dinners to the professional accommodation of my wife's dietary restrictions. The duck was among the best I have had anywhere. You pay a pretty penny here, but you receive a lovely dining experience. (May be we are just getting old, but I still have a hard time with patrons wearing t-shirts and shorts or jeans at a fine establishment like this.)"

  • "Lola's has a very unique and diverse menu. With items like calve heart on it to the standard and delicious roast pork. group of 6 2 had the pork (their signature dish) which was fantastic 3 had the scallops (which everyone raved about) and one had the pasta dish which was a unique dish with homemade ravioli stuffed with a pea mash (very very tasty). We ate outside on a nice warm night and 4th street was hopping as usual. ALso, our waitress was awesome... I highly recommend Lola's with one caveat - it is very expensive with most entree's $30 without a salad."

  • "This was my first visit to Lola, and it was everything I was hoping. I took my parent's there to celebrate their wedding anniversary before we went to the Indians game. The food was indescribably amazing, as we ordered the Hangar Steak, the Smoked Pork Chops, & the Sturgeon over Chorizo. We were able to sit on the patio, and the whole scene along East 4th Street is just energetic. I would absolutely recommend Lola to everyone."

  • "I read all of the reviews before going to Lola's. Everything was true. One of the best places I've had dinner in a long time. Fantastic food and service. Pork chops and hanger steak were excellent. Wish they would open one in Pittsburgh. Chef sent out another entire meal of beef hearts because he forgot the brussel sprout. Unexpected but appreciated. We did not know the difference until we tasted with the brussel sprouts. Please Michael Symon open one in Pittsburgh."

  • "i have always enjoyed Lola's but this lasr visit on Saturday was off. i think they used the same base for several dishes appetizer and entree, Several people all got the calf heart and did not care for it, borderline raw, My husband had the pork chops and loved it, This visit was a miss which is unusual"

  • "Me and my husband are total foodies and have traveled over 13 hours to eat at our favorite chefs flagship restaurant. It was the best feel I have ever eaten in the country. We travel overseas a lot so our expectations were high and Lola's was indescribable - especially the bone marrow"

  • "I was at a conference in Cleveland and wanted to try this Michael Symon restaurant. The food was good but not as good as I thought it shoukd have been. I had the duck, it was a little tough.I tried the pork chop it was good. Our waitress was a little on the snooty side."

  • "Went here for my Mother-In-Law's birthday and the service was absolutely amazing! Food was appropriately priced for the portions, as well as very tasty."

  • "This was my third visit to Lola, and I continue to be impressed. This time, however, I was moved. I brought with me my nine-year-old son, who is an enormous Michael Symon fan, and a very adventurous eater! Our servers never treated him like an inconvenience. They doted on him, and encouraged his adventurous choices. We are very careful in our restaurant selections when we dine with him, because not all restaurants are welcoming of children, even well-behaved ones with bold palates. But he was made to feel like a VIP -- and of course, this only makes him love Michael Symon more!"

  • "Our entire experience at Lola was outstanding! The food, service and ambience were all top notch. We have eaten at many of the finest restaurants in the country and Lola is definitely in my top 5! Wish we lived closer so that we could visit there more often. If you are ever in Cleveland be sure to try it."

  • "We had a wonderful meal. The service was attentive and friendly, the dining room has a great vibe, and the food was fantastic. The menu was reasonably priced for the value. Symon's reputation for flavor-rich preparations is well earned. We came to Cleveland from Illinois to eat here, and it was worth the trip."

  • "While we thought the cost was a bit pricey for the food we rec'd, it was VERY good. The service was impeccable. We felt like a King and Queen. :) It was a nice experience."

  • "I don't know what else to say. This was my 2nd time coming to Lola, and it blew me away just as much as the first time. Every minute detail is covered and thought of, down to the guy who comes and takes your plate after you have finished. The food...to die for! The flavor combinations just erupt in your mouth in stunning splendor. I have never eaten scallops that were that amazing. It's not the cheapest place in town, but what do you expect when it's fine dining??? I absolutely love this place and can't wait to return!"

  • "My meal of the hanger steak was outstanding, however the other 4 people in my party who were all from out of state had a hard time finding something to eat on the menu."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "I'll start of by saying it was one of the best meals of my life. The waitress was excellent at recommending a wine that my wife really enjoyed. The bone marrow appetizer was incredible. The restaurant was busy when we arrived and was noisy but we could carry on a conversation without yelling. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy high quality well prepared food."

  • "We had a girl night out and it was fabulous. Everyone of us had a great meal. It could not have been better. We were going to the Q and they were great about getting us out in time. What a wonderful night for all of us!!!!"

  • "Enjoyed a fantastic dinner celebrating our anniversary. Server was fantastic, staying on top of any of our needs without being overwhelming. Both of us preferred the Hanger Steak w/Lola fries. THE BEST steak dish I've had in decades! At end of meal surprised with a special anniversary congrats from the restaurant. And the price was well under what I expected. A Cleveland gem, both Lola and MichaelvSymon."

  • "Lola is a great restaurant, as all Michael Simon restaurants. We had asked to as quiet a table as we could get, and got just the opposite. The hostess sat us at a table that was one of the closest to the bar. The noise was over the top. My husband and I could not even talk. Later, when the bar crowd thinned out it was a little better. Food was great. Desert size was so small it was almost laughable."

  • "My wife and I don't go to many upscale establishments, but she has always wanted to go to Lola, and so we went for our anniversary. I was a bit reluctant, seeing that I prefer places that offer good food (and plenty of it) at a low price. But I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Lola. The prices weren't horrible, and the portions were larger than I expected. I cannot remember going to a restaurant where I enjoyed every single bite as much as I did at Lola. But not only was the food excellent, but the service was incredible (and I do mean "incredible") and the ambiance was great, as well. Lola isn't a place at which we can afford to dine all the time, but it's perfect for special occasions or "nights out"."

  • "Lola's is an upscale restaurant where the food presentation is outstanding. You will have an outstanding dining experience - the entrees and dessert are a wonderful taste adventure paired with many "beverages" to choose from-- the staff is gracious and well-trained in the art of service. You can have your privacy or engage in conversation with other diners next to you --you will close your eyes as you savor each bite!"

  • "Lola is our favorite restaurant and this was no exception! We took my Mom for her 75th birthday. The food was fantastic the service even better, ask for Tiffany's table. To top it off, the GM, Jude fussed enough to make Mom feel so special. She's counting days until her next birthday dinner! Thank you all!"

  • "This place was great. We had the beef cheek perogies app and it was amazing. I had the steak, and my husband had the calves heart, it all was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had milk and cookie which was delicious. We could look into the open kitchen from our table, which was really cool."

  • "Two years ago before we departed for our assignment to Belgium (my husband is active duty Army, and I am an Army civilian), we made reservations to try Lola's, as we are from the area, and huge Food Network fans. We were in NO way disappointed! The look and overall vibe is outstanding. The food was amazing, and the service was too notch! They were all very knowledgeable and professional. We are home in NE Ohio again for the first time in 2 years and a dinner at Lola's was a must do while here. Again, we were blown away!! The menu had changed to give diners new choices, and there isn't one complaint that either of us have. Keep up the fantastic work, and we'll be going again next year before leaving for our next duty station. Cleveland Love!"

  • "Lola's was on our destination list when we made travel plans for Ohio. So happy we went- loved every bit of it. Presentation of food was great, loved the blend of flavors. Great vibe in the dining room- beautiful decor. Not stuffy or snooty but still has air if fine dining. Can't wait to try his other eateries next time we visit. Only disappointment was not meeting Michael. Kudos!!"
