Logan - An American RestaurantLogan remains my favoriteLogan remains my favorite place for a special dinner in Ann Arbor. The food is as good as anywhere in town but it's the professional service that sets Logan apart. Many of the wait staff have been there for years and it's all very smooth. The sommelier's wine recommendations are well worth listening to and although the wine list isn't huge, it's very carefully selected with an eye on quality and value.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb!Logan is superb in all respects: food, cocktails, wine list, desserts, service and ambience. If you are cautious, try the appetizers and cocktails at their Happy Hour from 5 to 6 p.m. Tues thru Saturday, which is all the five nights they are regularly open. I predict you will be back for a meal after that first visit. Enjoy!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery GoodThis was our first visit to Logan. I would have given 5 stars for food, but the biscuits we got were so dry they disintegrated in your hand when you tried to split them to butter them. Given the positive comments so many have posted about the biscuits, we were a little disappointed. Aside from that, our food was excellent. Our server was very attentive, and made an effort to engage the whole table in discussion when interacting with us and was very personable, which surprisingly are skills we have found lacking in staff at MANY other higher end places in downtown Ann Arbor. Great experience overall.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA bit crowded and all openA bit crowded and all open tables, so I wouldn't call it very romantic. That said, the service is top notch and the food is fabulous, so we'll go back for every non-romantic opportunity.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic service!Logan is delicious - but it isn't the best meal I've ever had. However, the service tops the charts. Take advantage of their restaurant week (twice per year) special if you're afraid to drop $100 on a meal here....without drinks....but don't enjoy your meal without drinks since the wine list is fab! Hungarian dry whites? Fabulous.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBoth the scallops and theBoth the scallops and the sustainable catch were outstanding!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great. The crowdThe food was great. The crowd there is a bit older so we felt somewhat out of place, but it was a nice ambiance overall. This is the second time I've eaten at Logan in 2 years and both times they ran out of the duck. I was disappointed but the pork tenderloin was very good. The scallops also as delicious as everyone says. We also had the goat cheese ravioli which was tasty. I need to go back to try to the duck!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMfavorite spotAlways enjoy dining at Logan. Small intimate spot with knowledgable staff and outstanding food.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh! Palate tantalizer!Fresh! Palate tantalizer! Great wine pairings! Can't wait to go back.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding gourmet dinnerThank you so much to the staff and chef at Logan for giving us a meal to remember! We brought our Aunt for her birthday and as she is a gourmet chef herself, for her to say it was a wonderful meal means a LOT. I have tried to find another restaurant that would be as good or better than her cooking and I believe I found it at Logan's. Food was excellent, service wonderful, & extensive wine list. What more could you ask for?5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll go back soonGreat, creative food, beautifully presented. Portion sizes were just right, not overwhelming large.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AM2nd Visit Again a Hit!A fabulous dining experience. Loved the yummy welcoming cucumber gazpacho sent from the chef. I had the Moroccan hen and loved the flavors and presentation. My husband had the Wild boar Bolognese and it was so very tasty. Try the Bacon & Eggs Salad . . . very interesting! Our charming server was helpful and her service was terrific. Already looking forward to having dinner at Logan again soon!!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely date spot!Sustainable meat, seasonal menu, surprising presentations, friendly & unobtrusive service, charming ambience. What's not to love? Highly recommended!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome find!We have often thought about eating here and just have never done it (we live about 45 minutes away and are often traveling, so not a lot of opportunities), but we now realize what we've been missing. The food was fabulous, the service attentive but not overbearing, and the experience altogether enjoyable. We spend a lot of time in France and found the food and wine list at Logan as inspirational as many of the meals we eat in France. Our server was knowledgeable, the portion sizes just right (not too large, but more than adequate), and the prices reasonable.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAnn Arbor GemAnn Arbor has several fine restaurants - probably more than do most towns of its size and Logan is near the top of the list. The combination of fine food, outstanding service, good wine selection combine to make dining there a special occasion.
Expensive, but worth it.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was exceptionalThe service was exceptional - friendly, prompt and not over-bearing. The food was was outstanding - I had fish which was fresh and moist and my wife had pork tenderloin which was done to perfection. Lovely evening to celebrate Mother's Day.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific services - I hadTerrific services - I had called ahead to set up something special for our anniversary, and the staff was so accommodating!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Food Was ExcellentLot's of great choices for food. I wish I could have ordered almost everything on the menu. I'll definitely be going back to try other items on the menu.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience.Great food, really amazing service. Wonderful experience overall - would highly recommend Logan to anyone.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMUpscale, but comfortable.Overall, a lovely restaurant with good service and good food.
The house salad is a little lacking--organic baby lettuce with
toasted garlic and under dressed--it could use a bit of imagination.
The duck confit had an excellent sauce, with some truly memorable
marinated grapes as an accent. The wine (by the glass) suggested
by the staff, was a good match with the dish, but a pretty " light"
pour for $12. I would go back and try it again.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreatly enjoyed the steak,Greatly enjoyed the steak, pork dumplings and egg/bacon salad. Thank you!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGood but not greatEnjoyed the Greek lamb, not so much the mahi mahi. They were out of the duck special and the duck confit needed two more hours to finish. That was annoying. The bread pudding was heavy and not very flavorful.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the pleasure of havingWe had the pleasure of having dinner at Logan during a weekend conference at the University of Michigan. The menu was fabulous with delicious chef choices. The cocktails were also wonderful with the Bella Donna being my favorite. The restaurant is perfect for those who appreciate fine dining food with a warm and comfortable atmosphere.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceA remarkable dining experience!! The food is well seasoned but with a light touch so leave feeling satisfied but never stuffed.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite restaurant inOur favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor. Everything is delicious and we always receive outstanding service. The food is sophisticated and special without being fussy. My favorites are the pork dumplings, asparagus tempura, short ribs, pork, and the pear roulade for dessert. My husband adores all of the seafood items.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReturn to Logan!Haven't been to Logan for a few years and it didn't disappoint. Was as good if not better than I remember. Went there for wedding anniversary dinner. Great menu with items I don't see at other restaurants. Fantastic cocktail and wine selection. Informed friendly service.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic ExperienceWe had the tasting menu, along with the wine pairings (with full explanation of each wine from the sommelier) and it was spectacular. Service was perfect. Not cheap, but worth every penny.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Ann Arbor's finestOne of Ann Arbor's finest restaurants, in a town known for great dining. We had the Thai Scallops, ranked with the best we've ever had. Put Loan on your bucket list!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite place when visitingFavorite place when visiting Ann Arbor. Food is consistently good, inventive but accessible. Wine list a bit high, but enough variety to please. Desserts could use some work and the chef could clean up his flavors to get to outstanding.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a TreatWe always plan for around 2 or 3 hours at dinner for good reason. Three to five courses of this caliber deserve a little extra time. If you do need to get in and out, the staff can easily accommodate. I do think they could step up the cocktail composition and presentation just a bit, but you would be missing out if you didn't take advantage of what their world-class Sommelier has to offer. Great location off Main Street if you have a chance to dine outside in the early evening. Outstanding service from everyone.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommend "Logan".Our kids are UofM Alum and gave us a Logan certificate for Christmas. Yesterday we used it, it was just right for the prix fixe dinner. The 5 items really came to 7 or 8 small dishes, with between course "pares" dishes, a small(er) small dish, if that makes sense. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend "Logan".3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Average ServiceServer seemed like she was tired from a long day and since we were young it felt like she thought she could not be as attentive as normal. She didn't do anything drastically wrong it just felt like she couldn't care less and was not very friendly or sincere. Food was great although for the first time I didn't like the sample soup they gave us when we were seated. I will be back I'm sure3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA fun, memorable dining experienceThis was our first experience dining at Logan. It was wonderful. We opted for the 5-course chef's tasting menu with wine--a bit of a splurge, but well worth it. The menu included an appetizer, small portions of 3 entrees--seafood, pasta, beef--and a dense, decadent chocolate mousse for dessert. We did not ask in advance what we would be served, and it was great fun to enjoy the surprise of each course. It also made us experience preparations that we otherwise might not have ordered because one of us does not care for fennel or goat cheese or whatever. Each course was just outstanding. As for the wines, my advice is to just do what their wine person says. He is a wine lover and expert with a great talent for matching wine with food.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service. AllGreat food, great service.

The food was amazing and the server was wonderful. My friend and I had such a great night that we signed up the night as our anniversary and plan to go again next year.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. When the waitress was not sure which wine to recommend she sent over the sommelier and his recommendation was great. Overall the experience lived up to the ravings of the friends that directed us there.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLogan a divine place!Logan did not disappoint. We love to create a multi course meal by splitting courses. Logan serves artful individual plates of these splits. The service is outstanding (if you get up the waitron comes and refolds your napkin, water glass is always full, staff know the dishes and make spot on recommendations). I tried the bacon and egg salad: arugula, a bacon crouton and sunny side up egg, with a sherry vinaigrette, presented separately on the plate...delish! We shared melt in your mouth short ribs with cheesy grits, gnocchi with mushroom sauce, and the pork dumpling appetizer (fried crisp wonton w/moist ground pork, plum sauce and jicama slaw). gratis we got a little bowl of a bean soup, biscuits, crisp sweet dessert wine.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMReviews on Yelp were excellentReviews on Yelp were excellent - Logan did not disappoint.
