For as much neglect as Loghaven receives from the food snob crowd, I find the cuisine in the top 3 in the greater SLC area. We have seen a lot of "changes" over the years. The setting is unique and definitely a local treasure which must be experienced. The service is always exceptional. The food is very good, but could definitely be improved, especially for the price. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was friendly and attentive with a wonderful personality. We have eaten here before and will definitely be back. The view is amazing. They have hearty canyon fair like buffalo and beef steaks. There are always interesting fish and seafood dishes as well. I really appreciate the "Low-Cal High Impact" special: a three course (appetizer, main course, dessert) menu always under 700 calories. This is not your mother's diet food, it stands up to anything on the menu. Eat outside if you can to enjoy the pine scented mountain air. Service is always good. Everything about the Log Haven was outstanding. It started with the service. When I made my reservation through OpenTable, you are able to add a note for requests. My wife has a tendency to get cold easily, so I asked that if there is a warmer spot in the restaurant to sit and if it was possible, could we be seated there. We were sat right next to the gas fireplace. Our waiter Hartley was informative and attentive. The view is phenomenal - waterfalls, the small lake/pond, it's beautiful. The best part, the food. My wife and I both loved it, we have nothing but good to say about food. Properly sized portions are available, which we chose. I had my whole family here which was 6 of us my 3 sons (32,27,23) and 1 daughter(10)and wife. The food was excellent. The only thing comment was the Brussels sprouts - two I my sons had them with the bison and didn't like them. I tried them also and really like Brussels sprouts but I didn't care for them either. Love this place. It's always a special occasion when I visit. Love the valet parking, too! This was our first time, but we look forward to returning. The food was beautifully presented and well-prepared. The dinner choices were varied and interesting. I particularly liked the kale chips that accompanied the trout entree. The setting was wonderful and the background piano music truly set the scene. Our server told us her name is Greta and it was simply amazing to watch her sip from the waterfall as we ate the best Black Cod I have ever tasted. It literally melted in our mouths. Service is dominated by mature males. I don't know why women were scare, but they exhibited a high degree of professionalism and competence. Three servers attended to our table seeing that we had filled glasses and clean plates. They knew when to attend out table without our having to ask for anything. The food was delicious.
