  • "I took my fiancee here this past weekend. It was the first time for both of us and we were both extremely impressed by all aspects of this establishment. The service was great and attentive but not overbearing. The food was excellent. While my fiancee chose an entree (a Mediterranean version of chilean sea bass), I chose to stick with the small plates given the variety of appetizing options. The lobster roll, lamb chops and tuna meatballs were all great, as was the broccoli rabe that I ordered for my side dish. The same goes for my fiancee's entree. We will definitely be visiting L'Oceano again very soon!"

  • "Awesome local restaurant. There was a little wait when we arrived since the restaurant is small. Worth the wait. If you are looking for fresh seafood in a small cozy atmosphere then this is your place. Tried the tuna meatball appy that was a special. Awesome! Then the grilled romaine with shrimp, crab and caesar dressing. Scrumptious. Followed that with whole Branzino. Mmmmmmm. Blend the food experience with very friendly, attentive service and L'Oceano is a terrific night out. Bring your friends. They won't be disappointed."

  • "Food was very good, but a bit pricey, even for Collingswood. Service was excellent,friendly,most attentive. We had asked when we made the reservation if we could sit further back in the restaurant as it is a little quieter there ( we had eaten there when it was "Joe Pesce's). They called the day before our meal to say that they probably wouldn't be able to seat us there. We sat up front. I would return, but perhaps during the week when it might be less crowded and less noisy."

  • "We love dining here mid-week as the restaurant as different, subdued vibe than during the craziness of the weekend. We dine here at least every two weeks and always leave satisfied and having an enjoyable evening. The front of the house is very homey and endearing, you feel like you dined with family. The food does not disappoint. We started with the stuffed artichoke which my partner loved and a unique lobster bread stuffing which had strong lobster tastes - there wasn't any skimping here v- bot for our tastes we probably wouldn't order again. This house produces phenominal gnocchi. The sage gnocchi tonight was not exception. Our fish - one bronzino and the other trouth off the menu, were perfectly cooked and delicious."

I had the Clams Rockefeller (one of the night's special apps) and the Paella . . . both were fantastic. Highly recommended. And don't skimp on the wine . . . you'll want something good enough to match the superior quality of the food."

  • "We used to go to L'Oceano when it was Joe Pesce, and stopped because it got too crowded and noisy, and a little predictable. Our recent visit here was excellent.- appetizers, main courses, and service were all first-rate. We sat in the back of the restaurant, which we will always request in the future, because there's a lot more hustle and bistro noise toward the front."

  • "Seafood and italian food are two of my favorites, and I hold restaurants to a very high standard in this department. I only go out to eat if the restaurant offers something I can't prepare at home. With that being said, L'Oceano had the most perfectly prepared diverse array of dishes that I've ever tasted. From mussels to stuffed peppers, from lamb chops to homemade gnocci and whole fist, the food is truly to die for. It's a very small venue so make sure you have a reservation - it's worth every penny!!"

  • "Chris the owner has a fantastic restaurant that offers up the best food for the discerning foodie. The ambiance is romantic and inviting, and then there's the food....which never disappoints. I recommend the Grilled Romaine Salad that is packed with shrimp and crabmeat and the most amazing dressing...there's enough there to have it as a meal. The fish is always fresh and cooked to perfection. The service is top notch, between the friendly waiter/waitresses, and the even friendlier and attentive dynamic duo of Chris and Chris (owner and manager), a good time is guaranteed! This place is a wonderful local gem, a must visit for anyone in the Philly/ South Jersey area!"

  • "Chris and his staff again made for another excellent dining experience. We started with 2 appetizers this time; wild salmon pizza and a seafood spring roll. The pizza was just as good as the tuna version we had during our last visit. The spring roll was excellent. The textures of the crab, shrimp and scallops were all there and the taste was outstanding. The seared tuna entree was very good and the table-side prep of the Bronzino is always a favorite. Three in my party ordered the special - cobia with jicama and apple. Every plate was cleaned! Only downside is I don't live close enough to visit L'Oceano weekly. However, whenever I get the chance to be in the Collingswood area I'll be sure to make a reservation!"

  • "This is a tiny gem in Collingswood. We shared scollops in the shell as an appetizer - the sauce was exquisite. I had fresh fish of the day filleted at our table. I chose the Sicilian sauce. Everything down to the veggies wwere spot-on perfect. She had chicken off the regular menu; very nicely seasoned! Our complements to the chef!"

Also ordered an appetizer portion of the gnocchi of the week. Excellent! Chris also offered us a sampler of lobster rolls they were developing for the menu. A very nice touch to start the meal!! I had the whole bronzino which is presented (de-boned) table-side. The Sicilian sauce was a nice complement. Good portions of side veggies. Also ordered were the mako shark and the filet mignon stuffed with lobster. Both got a thumbs-up vote. Planning to return very soon."

  • "My wife and I were looking forward to checking out the new restaurant in the old Joe Pesci's, and the trip did not disappoint. The servers (Stacy and Kristen) were fantastic - friendly, energetic, and engaging. The food overall was delicious: the grilled romaine very tasty, and the grilled oysters as well. The entree I would recommend is the maple almond salmon - the taste combination was fantastic, but one of the dishes carried over from Joe Pesci's (the lobster mac 'n cheese) was a bit underwhelming. The size portion was on the smaller size, and the taste tended to be overwhelmed by the cheese. Needless to say, I've had better. Our servers apologized, took it off the check, and we shared a delicious canoli for dessert. Thanks!"

  • "My wife and I went to L'Oceano for the first time for dinner on Valentine's Day. The tone was set as soon as we were greeted at the door by the owner, who presented her with a beautiful rose. Service was friendly and impeccable, and the food absolutely outstanding, though I must admit that the grilled romaine salad with seafood was wonderful but overpriced at $16.95 for an appetizer. Highly recommended, and we will certainly return."

  • "We had 3 people who came to dinner with us for the first time to try L'Oceano. We suggested they try the grilled romain salad. We usually split the salad. The salad has very good flavors and everyone liked it. Their bronzino is very good. My husband had the trout which he liked. The invited 3 all liked their dinners and told me it was a good pick. Sign up for their emails and their discounts for dinner. The wait staff is very attentive. All nice people that run L'Oceano. I think the prices are good too. Try it you will like it. Plus it's a BYOB."

Best menu we've seen thus far in terms of desirable options and apparently it changes every 2 weeks. Food from apps to carrot cake was terrific. I recently had taken my staff there for a thank you dinner and had such great service and food that we decided to take our son there for his birthday.
