We were both impressed. The wine we were offered as a pairing for our dinner was also quite spectacular. I can't wait to go back here!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLocanda is what you want inLocanda is what you want in the neighborhood: terrific atmosphere, congenial owner/host and staff, consistently excellent, well prepared and fresh food, much of it made in the restaurant. The menu hasn't changed much in the last year or so, but what is on the menu has a lot of winners, and the specials are always great. The chicken liver and risotto appetizer is superb, beef cheeks or lamb shoulder magnificent, pastas always fresh and done perfectly. One challenge is that the restaurant has become so well known that it is difficult sometimes to come home tired, not wanting to cook or order, and be able to get a table. The ambiance is very lively and happy. The wine list is well-selected and reasonably priced.
