  • "I have dined here many times. The service has always been great and the food never disappoints. The sheep's milk ricotta crostini and the Burrata appetizer are two that I always order. You can't go wrong with any of the pasts entrees. I would recommend sitting in the back dining room as some of the other areas can get loud at times. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!"

  • "This was overall a solid very good. So if a solid "very good" isn't worth $600 (including tax, tip and alcohol but not dessert) for dinner for four then this isn't your place. I'm not totally sure i'll go back but I enjoyed the food and the experience. The service, which seemed to be the focus of many of the negative comments, was actually quite good. The ambience was lovely. The portions are small but we ordered a lot of food (a crostini, 4 primo, 2 pastas and 4 secondi) and we were too stuffed to consider dessert. Because it was my birthday, however, they brought us a slice of cake with a candle in it which was very nice."

  • "We were seated right away and the hostesses were very friendly. Our waitress was not the most friendly as she did not smile but the service was okay. I had the french toast with cranberries and peanuts. Very flavorful with the bitter cranberry and crunchy peanuts, but the actual toast was not impressive. Overall I would not go back as there are many other breakfast/brunch places I would like to try."

  • "I have brunched here twice with my son and family which includes my energetic 3 year old granddaughter. Food very good and above the normal brunch fare. Service excellent and they are nice to children. I especially loved the strawberry pop tart and the best gelato so creamy and smooth. The lemon pancakes were all our favorites. Now on my list of favorite brunch places. But make sure you call for reservations early"

  • "Recommend: Sheep's Milk Ricotta, Uova Modenese. If you want to go when it is quieter go for breakfast or brunch, but expect it to be crowded. no matter what. It is just that good and it's no secret. The food is great and the look of the place is very appealing especially with all the plants at the front door to welcome you. Outside seating is also available. There is a "to go" bar inside that is very popular in the mornings."

  • "Booked this for the last night of our trip (from Halifax, NS). Love the look, and the menu had a nice, reasonably priced selection. I'd have enjoyed if there were more mid-range wines to choose from, however, to match the food prices. We were put off by the staff. In such a bright, aesthetically pleasing restaurant, no one seemed happy to be there. The staff seemed judgmental - as though they felt we weren't qualified to visit- and I don't think I saw a single one of them smile. I understand the idea of maintaining a classy reputation, but to do so you don't need to be a snob. We had a much better experience at the uptown bagel mart we visited!! The food was quite good, but we left as quickly as we could."

  • "My husband and I went for our anniversary and were a bit disappointed that our dinner was OK but not amazing. We had the steak tartare, the girandole with spring peas, speck, and ramps, and the duck. The first two were really good and nicely presented, but the duck was a bit disappointing. The spice rub was very good, but the duck was cooked medium (we prefer medium rare, and no one had asked for a temperature), the skin wasn't crispy at all, and my husband wasn't a fan of the cherry sauce (although I thought it was OK). The grain salad that accompanied the dish was also really oversalted. We also ordered two rounds of cocktails, and found one of them so sweet and syrupy as to be undrinkable, although the rest were delicious."

  • "Went for dinner. The food wasn't bad. Service was a bit crazy. When I asked for some of the crostini (offered on top of the menu before appetizers) to go with our drinks before ordering I was told that our order had to be taken all at once (rules of the kitchen??) and that was impossible. Service just went down from there. Just a mess...ordering drinks and extras from the young lady who poured our water, being served backwards and a basically absentee waiter. I won't be back. "

  • "Our first meal here was amazing and earned Locanda Verde a place high on our future dining destination list during our frequent visits to the area. Something happened to the food since our dinner last fall. With so many places to choose from in TriBeCa and BPC it will probably be some time before we come back considering the price of a typical meal versus the success of same. We will watch future reviews for some hint that success has returned or that our less than satisfactory experience was one of bad timing. This was a destination restaurant but it needs to perform with greater consistency to compliment its superior service and atmosphere."

  • "Had lunch here on a holiday weekend. I've dined here previously for both lunch and dinner and enjoyed it much more. Was seated in the front of the restaurant and have to say the foot traffic going to the coffee counter was ridiculously distracting. And our service was not very good this day and it was a late lunch but still busy. The food is delicious however, love their goat milk ricotta and bread and all their pastas are deliciously appealing. I'd return with some prodding."

The Sheep's Milk Ricotta appetizer was amazing; each bite had an array of flavors: sweet, salty, and tangy. I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which were light and fluffy. It had the perfect tartness/citrus taste to it. Everything was divine. Definitely making this my weekly brunch spot. "

  • "Love the place, love the food. Sheep's milk ricotta is to die for!! I brought my mom here so she could try it (bc it was necessary for a fellow bread n cheese lover), and she was sold :) The ricotta is so creamy and smooth...more like goat cheese-meets-yogurt, really. The bread was burnt so we asked for replacement bread; the server was super nice about it, told us to keep what we had for the moment and said she would bring us more bread. Lamb meatball sliders are my other fave, but I wish there were 3 in the app, instead of 2. Spinach was perfect. Eggplant sammie was VERY heavy, not my stilo anyway, but thick bread, breaded eggplant, creamy spiced mayo, and nothing to cut through it...no bueno. Still one of my fave places though, always! "
