Diner Reviews
  • "Good brunch, but I was most impressed by the friendly and attentive service, trendy space and ambiance. I can't wait to come back to check out dinner!"

  • "Overall, the food here was neither good nor bad. The table service was adequate, nothing more. The menu is pretty narrow compared to many other similar nearby restaurants. If you frequent the Tribeca area regularly, this may be a decent choice if you want to try a new place for a little variety. A little warning - the front of the house is rude and dismissive. I can't really understand why they insist on acting so nasty and haughty when all they have to is act semi-nicely to you as they walk you to whatever table they think you deserve -- in other words, try not to act like a jerk for about 15 seconds. Guess that part is harder than it looks, at least for the people working Locande Verde. "

  • "Servers need to smile more. They act so snobbish not friendly. Food was great. Service was great."

  • "Really Nice services and food (thanks Bob) but little bit to noisy"

  • "We went for an early brunch on a Sunday, and it was absolutely wonderful. We will definitely come back to try their dinner, and certainly do brunch again."

  • "During a week of torrential rain, Locanda Verde sure lifted my spirits! The service and food were excellent."

  • "I went for my birthday and was not disappointed. We ordered the lamb meatball sliders, chicken for two, and the sheep's milk ricotta. All the dishes were very flavorful. The servers were attentive and we had everything we needed. I only wish we had room for dessert."

  • "I recently had brunch at LaConda Verde in Tribeca. What a wonderful meal! There were three of us in my party, and we each ordered something different. All of our meals were delicious. The waiter and his support staff were very friendly and attentive as well. We began the meal with Focacia bread (complimentary) with a crispy, toasted crust topped with onions. It was outstanding. I plan to try to copy it at home. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Everything was amazing! Right from the front door to dessert. Service was great! Fun talking to our neighbors."

  • "Made a reservation but my friend was 20 minutes late. When she arrived, they had the table ready for us. It did not seem like many people had to wait long because they were running on schedule. Had the stromboli for brunch. It was delicious and I left feeling very full. The Sheep's Milk Ricotta was delicious. It is in a slightly inconvenient location, but I would definitely go again."

  • "I had brunch there on Saturday. Delicious!!! Highly recommend the agnolotti and their simple salad. We sat for a couple of hours and the staff was totally cool with it. Not my first time and a strong reminder as to why I love it here."

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered and the inside of the restaurant is cozy yet modern. Our meal was served quite promptly and the amazing housemade caramelized onion focaccia was replenished throughout the meal, as well. Our server wasn't the most personable, but overall wasn't problematic."

  • "Loved the restaurant overall. Service started out strong, menu very interesting, atmosphere fun. Food turned out to be generally excellent. Beef tartare and sheep's milk risotta made on site set the tone. But to get them at our table we were forced to order entree's at the same time as our appetiziers. Our waitress was knowledgeable and seemed very helpful...until we wanted to wait and order once we had started on the starters...she would not let us! I've never before had someone force me to order when I wasn't ready - uncomfortable and awkward. The salad we decided to share was so-so but the duck was cooked to perfection. And the desserts were spectacular. If only we weren't pushed ---- then the rating would be better."

  • "The food, service and atmosphere at Locanda Verde was on point from start to finish. Our server recommended perfect choices and the entire staff was attentive, but also nearly invisible, so we were not interrupted. The setting was warm and relaxing, though the noise level can get a bit loud as seating is near a very vibrant bar. Loved my experience!"

  • "very, very loud and noisy table are very close together we could barely hear each other excellent food and service"

  • "I've been to Locande Verde a few times now and it never disappoints. The service is the most attentive I've had without being overbearing. The food is great but for me, the service takes it over the top. We ordered a variety of starters and each one was better than the last. Loved the sheep's milk ricotta and the burrata. We actually ordered the grandma's ravioli as a starter because I wanted to get a few pastas and couldn't make up my mind. Only complaint I have is its time to add a few items to the menu. I'll be back! (no Arnold voice)"

  • "We have been trying to eat at Locanda Verde for awhile now and always had issues getting a table when we wanted so I was very excited when it all aligned last week. The restaurant is beautiful and has a nice vibe however the service was pretty appalling, from the first impression of the host who was leaning against the wall and acted as though we were bothering her to our waiter who seemed like it was his first night without training & never served tables before. For a restaurant of this caliber I would have expected a lot more, there seems to be some serious training issues. I honestly can't say much about the food, it was good but not memorable and the service piece was so distracting it left an overall bad taste, won't be returning."

  • "Good experience over all but reservation desk can use a quick customer service crash course. Impressed by the wait staffs knowledge and seemless operation. Most importantly the food was top-notch."

  • "Came in for breakfast expecting something special given the chef's reputation. But in reality it was ho-hum and expensive. Seems to suffer from the "Tribeca premium" where restaurants can charge more and give less thanks to the less discerning wallets in the area."

  • "The food and service are unmatched. It's a wonderful hot-spot with a real genuine warmth! Reasonable pricing for such a top-drawer spot!"

  • "Excellent dishes for all courses. We had a delicious crab crustini, the amazing pumpkin ravioli and the classic grandma's ravioli. Beware, the desserts are actually much larger than the pasta dishes, so you won't need both the Toasted Almond Gellati AND the Chocolate Tart, but I wouldn't say we regret getting both exactly..."

  • "Our early arrival was greeted by a friendly staff and the friendly atmosphere continued with the bartenders as we waited for our table. Our waitress, Isabella, made our dining experience very enjoyable. Since, we had already whet our appetites with the Blue Crab with jalapeno starter and followed that with My Grandmother's Ravioli, her suggestion to only order the single serving of the Fire-Roasted garlic chicken was good advice. The Fantasia di Nocciola was an eye [and belt] popping ending to our meal. Overall, a very recommendable restaurant for both the food and atmosphere."

  • "This was my second experience here and I must say it was nothing like the first. There was a group of 6 of us and we were put in the private room at a table that was shared with another group. This was no issue but the people sitting by the windows were freezing. The quality of the food was poor. Pork was obviously pre cooked and heated up after we ordered it. When it got to the table the middle was cold so we sent it back and when it came back it was the same piece just thrown in the microwave."

  • "Girlfriend and I just ordered 2 pastas. THEY ARE DELICIOUS BUT VERY VERY SMALL. Restaurant is not at fault; waiter noted that most people order a pasta and entree and split them. Gelato was unbelievably delicious."

  • "I have never had a bad meal or experience here. The food is delicious, the waitstaff is great and the ambience is spot on. I give it a 10 for overall satisfaction. Simple as that!"

  • "My wife and I are food lovers who really appreciate the value of top nosh food. We visited Locanda Verde due to it being recommended in two tourist books and we were really excited about eating there. First impressions are really good, and the entrance to the restaurant is excellent. Unfortunately this is where the good stuff ends. We had been told before that the service received from New york restaurants was top notch, and it was - but not here. We had a young male waiter who didn't seem to care too much about the service that he provided (yes, you can guess, he still expected a tip!). The food was rushed, and pretty average quality. I always expect to go out and eat better than I can cook, and sorry LV, you were quite a bit off."

  • "We went there for breakfast and I had a hard time choosing from the menu because everything sounded delicious. I finally chose the lemon ricotta pancakes and I must say they were the best pancakes I ever had. The restaurant atmosphere is really nice, the decoration beautiful and you can even spot celebrities. I would definitely recommend for Breakfast or Brunch. I have never been for drinks or dinner but I am sure it would be very nice too. The bar looks great."

  • "Enjoyed both the beet salad & steak tartar appetizers. Also enjoyed the spaghetti ameritriciana, pumpkin agnolott & paccheri entrees as well as the excellent side of brussels sprouts. We also shared a scoop of caramel gelati.....wonderful meal. Nice wine by the glass menu......we started with proseccos and then had barbera and aglianico, paired nice with apps & entrees."

  • "Mediocre food; I have definitevely eaten better italian , even in NY. Steak tartare was very blend, without spices which are essential for the good tartare. Pasta , was just plain and forgetable; Cipriani does it better. The desert menu was the biggest disappointment ; not very italian at all and not very inventive. 5 differents types of ice creams in the middle of the winter ?!"

  • "I visited LV for weekend brunch with my girlfriend. We ordered the spiced carrot cake, Hazelnut-Crusted French Toast (mediocre, soft), Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (overpowering lemon curd), Crispy Garlic Potatoes (good). The warm cozy ambiance was interrupted by the table next to ours (a table of 2) when an unexpected third guest arrived at their table. Conveniently, he jammed himself into the space between the two tables, crowding me and my girlfriend in the process. This was clearly uncomfortable but our waiter did nothing to remedy the situation, nor did he apologize in anyway."

  • "This restaurant looks fancy, a lot of thought has been invested into the desing, calours, materials, etc. The problem is that the food does not raise to the same level as the outlook and interior desing. The food is just too ordinary. You can try it once, but won't come back."

  • "Delicious food in lovely surroundings. The atmosphere was great and very vibrant. The waiters were very qualified, polite and friendly. This is definitely a restaurant, you should visit, when you're in New York!"
