Children were served a small portion of pasta while the adults were eating the appetizers, which was very nice. Pasta entrees were so-so. The best one was the linguini with clams. We tried four other pastas, and they were not that good. I ordered the spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce and was served a glob of starchy spaghetti in the middle of my plate, and the sauce did not taste like fresh tomatoes. We go to Italy every year, and the food did not compare to the food that we eat there. However, the desserts were delicious. The profiteroles and the cannoli were outstanding, and the gelato was very good!! Service was above excellent. The quality of the food is excellent. The care taken in preparation and presentation is evident and the flavors are outstanding and memorable, particularly the wild boar and lamb dishes. Some of our earlier reviews may still be readable on Open Table. The restaurant is small (about 30 covers), and Lincoln Blvd outside is busy ... but it's the food, wine and service that you'll remember. This time we had Pappardelle al Cinghiale and Lasagnetta Rustica al sugo di Vitello for dinner -- regular menu items that are terrific. And this is just days after we had a fabulous Saturday night dinner here starting with Cozze Vongole e Polipetti alla Luciana and followed by two specials -- cinghiale (wild boar) osso buco and tagliatelle with white truffles. I had the pappardelle with wild boar and my husband had the veal lasagna. Both were amazing. The service was great and everyone was very nice. The food is very good without being pretentious or over the top, the staff is attentive in a quietly efficient European way, and the ambiance is very pleasant, although Saturdy nights are definitely noisy. The food shows a nice attention to detail and is very authentic -- a recent special was braised wild boar shank, for example. The wine list is very impressive -- not too many places have Aglianico wines, a specialty of the area inland of Naples,on their list, but LP has two. But, I can't blame the restaurant if I planned to order one thing but made a switch when I ordered. And, the entree I did order was very well made, just not really what I wanted as it turned out. All that being said, all our food was excellent and it appeared that all the food coming out of the kitchen was equally good. This is delicious, classic Italian cuisine. The restaurant is small and intimate, and could potentially feel crowded. But, you should be enjoying your meal so much you that you won't notice. Nice wines with a good range of prices. The mushroom salad was excellent and wines by the glass added to our enjoyment. Service was supurb. One of the better Italian restaurants in our City. Now if we could mute the noise a bit!!! We went there for our anniversary based on Yelp reviews, and it proved to be the perfect pick. Very small restaurant (only around 10 tables), so it has a very intimate atmosphere. The cooking is just awesome, real old-school italian-grandma style cooking. Everything is prepared fresh (so bring some time) and tastes amazing.
