Great entrees, frito misto, perfectly baked thin crust pizzas like I had in Italy. Go for snacks to share or a full meal. Friendly staff. Much of the food, including the pasta, sausage and bread, is homemade. The sausage and peppers appetizer is especially good as are the calamari fritto misto and the veal and beef meatballs. We had three different pastas and a risotto and all were very good. The wine list includes an excellent selection of Italian wines at reasonable prices. Service is very good and the room is very comfortable. Both indoor and outdoor dining are available in the warmer months. The food is always superb. However, once again the service was a bit weak.. For instance, I asked the busboy for more bread, and he said he would bring it--he didn't. True to Italian tradition, we weren't rushed and were able to have a nice conversation with friends. 3 in our party had the veal special which was most delicious. 1 had the ricotta gnocchi which were light and very tasty. The tiramisu and panna cotta were very good desserts. After eating, we looked around and it felt like all of the tables had finished eating and were just relaxing and enjoying each other's company over another glass of wine. I love it so much that I cannot bring myself to order something else. However, my friends have ordered other items on their menu and have all had positive experiences, so I'm guessing the food is good all around. They also have excellent desserts for the most part. The one BIG disappointment is the panna cotta. STAY AWAY if you are a fan of this particular dessert. I and several friends tried it, and none of us liked it--not even a little bit. This time however my husband got the wrong dish---he ate it anyway and I got a pizza that was soggy, greasy and undercooked. Our friend got a chicken dish that she raved about. The waitress realized my husbands was wrong but he had already started eating it and we didn't want to wait for a new one to be prepared. We live way south in the suburbs and though we have a few great Italian food places, the food and ambience here was spectacular and definitely worth the drive. The only thing I would change is to have the 2 top tables a little bit bigger. I felt a little crammed, but overall, a true neighborhood gem. We will be back. The big Seafood Salad was caramelized seafood piled high on perfectly vinaigrette-ed greens with capers. Ate every morsel and wanted more.
