Terrific room, and very well executed menu and price point. Service was slow even for a full room ( I don't know how we got the reservation). Professional bar that can make a martini as ordered. The food is just wonderful - lots of variety, so tasty, and great specials. I had the halibut special the other night and it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We always start with one of the vegetable sides as an appetizer and the roasted brussel sprouts (not on the menu) are a favorite. After eating, we looked around and it felt like all of the tables had finished eating and were just relaxing and enjoying each other's company over another glass of wine. I love it so much that I cannot bring myself to order something else. However, my friends have ordered other items on their menu and have all had positive experiences, so I'm guessing the food is good all around. They also have excellent desserts for the most part. The one BIG disappointment is the panna cotta. STAY AWAY if you are a fan of this particular dessert. I and several friends tried it, and none of us liked it--not even a little bit. The consistency is more like jello than custard, and it is completely devoid of flavor. Stick to the tiramisu or gelato, which are both very good.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. The spinach mushroom lasagna is full of mushrooms, and the panna cotta is one of the best ever!
The wine list has lots of interesting choices as well.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular!This was our first time to visit Locanda Del Borgo and WOW am I ever so glad that we did. We live way south in the suburbs and though we have a few great Italian food places, the food and ambience here was spectacular and definitely worth the drive. The only thing I would change is to have the 2 top tables a little bit bigger. I felt a little crammed, but overall, a true neighborhood gem. We will be back.
