We had a fantastic dinnerWe had a fantastic dinner at Local this weekend. Our waitress was very attentive, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. We went at 7:00 and it was still quiet enough that we could hear each other talking very easily. The cheese and cracker appetizer was very tasty! We both had fish as our entree and enjoyed it very much. I will absolutely be back!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome in every wayLocal is definitely a Dallas Top Five restaurant for us! We've been twice in the past two weeks and love it each time for new reasons.
The restaurant is the perfect size, with lots of seating areas that are intimate, yet offer a shared experience. We had an awesome time joking with the only other couple in our area (there are only 2 tables in that room).
The staff is awesome, particularly one waiter whose name escapes me. . .tall, thin and reminds me of Phil Dunphy of "Modern Family." Makes you feel like his whole night revolves around you.
And I'm saving the best to last -- Tracy Miller's incredible food! I'm working my way through the menu and have loved absolutely everything! What a great & talented chef.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed our visit there.Enjoyed our visit there. The waitstaff was friendly and not overbearing. We never felt rushed though some of our party arrived late, due to an emergency. The food was prepared to our specifications and presented beautifully.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was exceptional. The food was exceptional. Everything was fresh and very well presented. I would eat here again. It was a wonderful experience.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLocal at the old Boyd HotelSeabass was spectacular! Crisp crumb and panko crust. Mac and cheese Local version was delicious as well. Tables are close and hard surfaces make the room seem stark. Clean lines, though, for more contemporary look.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a memorable meal. This was a memorable meal. Stop right here and book. You will not be sorry. Amazing food and an amazing atmosphere.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOur group of four was lookingOur group of four was looking for something off the beaten path before the Deep Ellum arts festival and couldn't have been happier to wind up at Local. The food was really fantastic - we has the salmon, halibut, and sea bass and each were wonderful. I could take or leave their famous fried green beans but the sauce they came with was out of this world! Also, if the summer squash soup is on the menu when you go - order it!! By far one of the best things I've eaten in a minute. Overall, great experience EXCEPT for the fact that they do not have a liquor license and therefore do not have a full bar, which was kind of annoying. Also, it's a bit pricey but fully worth it.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food - great location.Stumbled upon this find one late night with my husband and a friend from out of town. The interior of this place sold us. It reminded us of the modern day 70's and was perfect for a great meal and catching up with our friend. We all had great wine. The lobster cake as an appetizer was fabulous. We had the salmon and the steak. Both were delish. The sauce paired with both were marvelous. We will be going back soon! He only down side is we were late for our reservations because we couldn't find the place. When you go, expect a very small sign Just above their door.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific experience.
