A word from Local Three
Using one the best kitchens in the country, Local Three presents a neighborhood spot with really good food, beverage and service! Join us for a come-as-you-are atmosphere and "foie gras in your flip flops" ambiance with the best quality cuisine at affordable prices alongside intriguing wine and beer lists and a full bar. Chef Chris Hall was formerly Chef de Cuisine at Canoe and most recently helped Jay Swift open 4th & Swift. The bottom line: Real, honest food served by people who care - at a fair price in a comfortable atmosphere.
In our never ending quest to keep things interesting here at Local Three, we've decided to switch things up and change brunch from the current buffet style to a la carte selctions. Starting on Sunday, 9/18, our a la carte brunch will feature creative takes on traditonal standards. Come by and spend Sunday morning or afternoon with us!

  • "We had our anniversary dinner at Local Three and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My husband surprised me with roses on the table...he'd dropped off a vase and a wrapped bunch of roses and the host cut and arranged them in the vase! Our server was totally into the menu, giving us tips on her favorites and explaining the oddities of the chefs' creations. We had several "today's special" small plates and appetizers, one entree (the schnitzel, which is so crispy/salty/delicious and its topped with a cool kale salad), and two desserts (they were small and we were celebrating ;) the lemon "pie" was amazing - like my mam-ma's pie elevated to celebrity status). The cocktails were equally fab, they have an extensive bourbon menu. We'll be back soon!!"

  • "They ran out of entrees so some of us got 3rd and 4th choices, we ordered quite expensive wine and the waiter failed to bring wine glasses, or refill. Took wine glass from one guest to give to another. All in all a poor experience for such a previously good restaurant."

While we can appreciate that they were not wearing a uniform in an effort to prevent it looking like an Applebees the waitstaff wore clothes that looked as if they had reached into their dirty clothes pile. It is clear that there have been no policies put in place to make sure that the staff looked presentable and professional."

  • "My boyfriend and I came with 3 friends and we had a lovely time! Usually we will each order one cocktail to try, but the Jack-John Daly and the No Pagne No Gain drinks were so good we ordered a second (and third) round. We shared the beef tartare and both the cheese and charcutterie platters with the group, all three of which were excellent. The waiter did an excellent job explaining each dish and providing notable combinations. For our entrees, we had the wagyu meatloaf (nightly special) and the scallops. This was the best meatloaf we have ever tasted and the scallops were huge! The mac & cheese side was a decadent addition to our meals and the chocolate mousse trio was the perfect dessert to end our meal!"

  • "Walking into the empty office building lobby and down the long hall, you wonder if you've found the right place. Through the wooden door, you find a space full of people enjoying adventurous southern cuisine. My wife and I had a very good meal with an outstanding server. There were so many interesting appetizers, we took a tapas-like route so we could explore the menu. The seasoned popcorn was delicious; the crab risotto was good but would have been better if it had been hotter; and the octopus corn dogs were outstanding. The fried pickled okra was good, but I think just plain okra using the same method would have been as good or better. We liked Local Three so much that my wife is taking a friend there for lunch next week."

  • "Sunday Brunch at Local Three is a serve yourself trip through the kitchen where the chefs serve dishes family style straight from the cooking line. Customers serve themselves from a variety of breakfast and lunch items portioned in small bites to encourage grazing. Soft scrambled eggs, blackberry jam crostini, french toast, quiche, shrimp & grits, chicken thigh confit and turkey panini are just some of the delicious choices. The items have that unique Local Three twist. The bar menu features the same unique approach to specialty cocktails as well as excellent wines by the glass. We had a 1 pm reservation and the place was jumping. When the restaurant is full, the noise level can be high. All in all, a different brunch experience."

  • "another basically good meal but sometimes I think they are trying to hard - waffle was hard as a rock in the chicken and waffle - Trout was just not as good as past times but risotto was awesome. Pancakes in strawberry short stack were heavy and lukewarm, at best. Heirloom tomato salad simple and delicious - Ham & egg "spam" delicious - pickled shrimp great flavor - bread is awesome H&F - but we had to ask for it - service excellent as always - friendly warm atmosphere -"

I love how their menu provides a diverse combination of snacks, small plates and entrées. I recently enjoyed an outstanding appetizer of Florida rock shrimp with lentils, arugula, crème fraîche and lemon, plus an entrée of seared Maine diver scallops with a sweet summer corn purée, baby carrots, pickled peppadew peppers and basil.   • "The restaurant layout is very open and tables are grouped close together. Large groups sit right next to smaller tables. It is definitely distracting. The night we went there was also a table with 3 small kids (all under age 10) seated close by. The kids were very noisy and kept getting up and walking around. Not a great start to the evening. Our service was good, but the food was hit or miss. My husband got the Tybee shrimp which was tasty. I tried the rabbit pasta and was not impressed. There was very little rabbit in the dish, mostly just pasta. We were able to sit and linger over drinks and dessert which was nice. Our server did not rush us. If we go back we will request to sit outdoors as there is a nice patio area."

  • "Local Three was already our favorite place, both for dinner and for Sunday brunch. We even booked the Chef's Table for our anniversary a couple years ago, which was an amazing experience and totally worth the money. On our most recent visit, they somehow outdid themselves. My wife and I decided to share everything we ordered - appetizers, salad, entree, dessert, and even some of our drinks. The staff went out of their way to accommodate, going well above and beyond what I would have considered a reasonable response to our requests. They took really great care of us, and because of that, we'll continue recommending Local Three to everyone we know. Great place!"

  • "This was our first visit to Local Three, although we had been to prior tenant Joel several times. It is not fair to compare Local Three to Joel, but...it is still sad to see how far the decor, service and food have fallen. We stared with a Charcuterie Sampler - pricy at $18. The meats were fine, but not up to, say, Ecco. The stale, limp flatbread and the "A-1-like" dipping sauce ruined the dish for me. The Gum Creek Farms Pork Belly "Pastrami" appetizer was better, but a let down from the menu description of the dish. The Chili Marinated Painted Hills Bavette was tasty, but the avocado chimichurri was too much like guacamole. My wife's Carolina Mountain Trout a la Plancha was the best thing we had, but she only gave me one bite!"

  • "Went to brunch which was my first time at Local Three. All the brunch items were delicious. There were several options to choose from and a good selection for meat eaters and non-meat eaters. The dining room is a bit snug where some tables feel like you're eating with the diners next to you but the food made up for that. I'd like to go back for dinner to see the non-buffet offerings."
