The service was friendly, but just slow. We had to hunt for waiter several times during meal, although when he finally came around he was helpful and professional. Perhaps they were just short-handed. Rest of staff looked sloppy in street clothes, hard to tell who works there. Food selections and flavor was very good. Music was a bit too loud, but some people may not be bothered by that. They have made every effort to help people find restaurant, but it's really hidden away, accessed through parking deck, unfortunate location in building. But all in all, a good meal and we will go back.

So nice to find a fun and delicious dining experience with dishes of eclectic pairings...that I didn't need to go downtown to enjoy! Though they rotate seasonal items, I have to recommend the Elk Ribs in BBQ with dark chocolate. The apple slaw accompaniment was incredible and the perfect balance. The waiter did not skip a beat when I asked for a tiny bit more - it was on our table two minutes later. We Arrived early, around 6 pm to a fairly quiet dining room. By 7 every table was filled, yet I had not noticed a significant rise in the noise level. Must be all the old wood on the walls and ceilings. Being able to carry on a conversation is an element some dining establishments have forgotten, but not this one. A great find, we will return and tell our friends!

Took friends for a birthday dinner. Two ordered the pork shoulder and thought it was awesome. I ordered the fish special, excellent. The elk rib appetizer was not a big hit but the butternut squash dip was terrific. I would order that again. All the meals were outstanding. Our favorite dessert was the peanut butter pie. Wine by the glass menu small but adequate., I will definitely be back.

The chef is a master at creating rich, meaty dishes. Everything seemed to be on flavor steroids with a lot of oil and salt and spice. An entrée can feed 3 people. At a different time I would love this, just in a different place where I am eating fresh and light. This is fantastic gourmet comfort food.

Local Three may be a little off the beaten path, but it's amazing once you walk through the door. The staff was friendly and courteous. They welcomed us warmly and were able to seat us right away, even though we were early for our reservation. The food is absolutely amazing. Everything we tried was great. No leftovers! But more to the point, they were reasonable portions. No one went away even close to hungry, but we were able to have a three course meal and not feel like we were bursting afterward. It's a great spot with an amazing bourbon and cocktail selection. The food is a tasty twist on traditional southern cooking. The atmosphere is hopping, but we had no trouble hearing each other. We will definitely be going back!

This was our first visit to Local Three but definitely won't be the last! We started with the fried clam strips were the best we'd ever had, large and very tender. My husband has a dairy allergy and the chef was walking about, talking to customers asking if we decided our meal. We had our eye on a few dishes but need to make sure there wasn't any dairy. The chef told us they could special make any dish for us, just ask! Restaurant felt upscale but the staff was very friendly, casual. Portion size was perfect, great value for the money.

I hate having to ask for everything to be translated into everyday English, and I suspect the people who really enjoy this kind of dining are really indulging in the age-old habit of "one-upmanship." BTW, don't order the "Hungry Man" special. (and don't complain afterward you weren't warned!)

Innovative cocktails, extensive choice of wines by the glass and a buffet with top quality food. The buffet is set up on the kitchen with the chefs whipping up servings of that day's offerings in small batches. Light, fluffy scrambled eggs, corn bread that melts in your mouth, awesome soup, etc, etc. etc. Lots of great choices and fun to see the kitchen at work.

Yep, my carnivorous husband discovered the elk ribs to be a great selection. As a vegetarian I was impressed with the options made available. I started with a side dish, quinoa and beets a good size serving included very fresh beets. The salads can be made without any of the meat, so plenty of options. We were joined by 3 friends who help us celebrate our 19th anniversary. I enjoyed a glass of wine and sampled a few of the drinks ordered from the bar, a salute to the mixologist. Fresh food, fun environment, great staff!

My wife and I have eaten at Local Three several times and had enjoyed the experience. This time everything was very good in terms of the greeting the service and the overall experience. That is with the exception of the main courses. The appetiser and salad were both good but both of our entrees were not good at all as in barely edible. Not sure what happened but the steak dinner I had and the pot pie my wife had were just not good. Her comment was that no one had tasted one of the pot pies prior to serving. Going back is not an option.

I went to Local Three with 2 friends for a birthday lunch. They serve brunch buffet style out of the kitchen is very cool. Each item in the "line" could be an entree in itself as the food is VERY tasty and unique. We noticed several large tables and a semi-private room which both looked great for groups. We will definitely be back. **As a side note, the staff at the buffet was extremely friendly and helpful. They were very willing to answer all of our questions about ingredients and even offered to tweak a recipe on our behalf. Outstanding service.

They have interesting daily specials and a great list of specialty cocktails. Every time we have been there (8+) our server, and the food has been fantastic. We love introducing new people to this upscale but casual feeling restaurant to see their reactions-they love it as much as we do! 2nd time for dinner, not as good as the 1s time. I actually ordered the same items because I loved them so much the 1st time and so did my husband: steak tartare and burger. Well it was not as good. And it was not just my opinion, steak tartare was bland and the burger overcooked. Noone asked us how we wanted it cooked and it came medium well. Service was not very good as well, we waiting 20mins before having someone come to us to ask us what we wanted. They apologized and comped us the appetizer. But there again it felt weird because our server said "i will pay for it" and not "it is on us" so we felt bad she had to pay for it and told her not to comp it while asking her who was actually going to pay, ackward no response. Felt weird.

Local Three remains one of my favorite stops for lunch. As a vegetarian for less than a year, however, I have difficulty finding Local 3 options beyond the typical salad - though I'm sure they would leave the meat off their flatbread pizza, etc. I had a beefsteak tomato, buffalo mozzarella salad as my entree -- good if not stellar: it didn't look as beautiful on the plate as it might have, as though they weren't trying hard enough on the presentation. But one of the 3 chefs does have his own farm and some of their food is sourced there, which I love. Maybe it was just that one day, but through the noon hour - it remained less busy than I'd seen several months ago. It's a great restaurant. I trust they are not 'letting up.' Great service.

We tried Local Three because we "lunch" a lot and have heard great things about this restaurant group. We asked if we could sit at the bar were told, of course you can! We headed towards the bar and as we were picking out our seats the manager came over and told us that unfortunately the bar tender had not come in and if we were going to sit there we would probably not get the attention we should and would we mind sitting at a table. No problem. We proceeded to order cocktails that were good but were then sadly served an appetizer that had very stale old bread and so we didn't eat it and told the server. No one mentioned it again. Rest of lunch was only okay, and the dessert was pretty but not worth eating :( We will not go back.

Service staff was very good, and aimed to please on all fronts. Eclectic menu, but sparse descriptions lacked clear explanation of what to expect, so, dish and presentation was a surprise on a couple of dishes. The "beef" meatballs, while the server did warn they had a bit of pork in them, overwhelmed with the smell and taste of bacon. I happen to love bacon, but not in a beef meatball. House made Tagiatelle pasta and sauce with meatballs was just excellent. Also, the grilled veggies, fresh and well done, and crusty mac and cheese was excellent. A creamy Crab Risotto dish had blueberries and orange slices, but only a whiff of crab meat; again a surprise Would recommend a visit, and expect it will get much better with time.
