Local ThreeOne of My 3 Local Favorites!Local 3 has continued to excel ever since it took over Joel's superlative, expansive French kitchen. The menu, the quality of the unique food, and the low-key but fine staff and atmosphere all work together to ensure that every experience is more than worthwhile. When the sole complaint is "I'd rather have a 'real menu' than those paper place-mats," then you know you are in great shape.
The offerings change significantly every several months. Lately, something as simple as a meatloaf offering is unbelievably high quality. Served over potatoes, potatoes, carrots, and asparagus - well, it is rich, filling, fulfilling, and just right. The fish is flawless. Sunday Brunch was full of fantastic flavors. They also had bacon and biscuits to satisfy my picky 11 year old son. The fact brunch was server buffet style in the kitchen made me love it even more. The chefs used small dishes and there was always more on the fire about to be served. White salmon for dinner was exceptional, as was Wagyu strip steak ( so tender!) and boneless pork chop. Our server CC took very good care of us explaining the menu and handling our wine. The menu is really unique and thought out. Some of the standouts we ordered were the beef tartar and pork carnitas. We brought our own wine. The cool thing here is they only charge a $10 corkage fee which the restaurant gives to the server. We had the cheese plate (very good). Everyone's meal was excellent. The small plates/appetizers at this restaurant are so good (we also shared the beef royale, fig bruschetta, the duck fat fried lamb ribs, and the cheese tasting) that we can never get to the "Mains." Cute setup, pick up food in the kitchen, relaxed atmosphere. There were many food choices. Couldn't taste everything, (too full), but we all agreed that what we had was quite good. Service was nice as well.
Our only complaint: finding the place. Perhaps more signage might be helpful. Everything from the drinks, appetizers, main course and dessert were perfect. The only thing I will note is that the food was a little on the salty side but not anything unbearable. The charcuterie made in house was delicious, I definitely recommend that for my fellow piggy lovers! I ordered the soft shell crab and squid ink risotto...to die for! Then the dessert was just the best...cayenne pepper in a s'more chocolate mousse! Simply amazing. Great for our anniversary dinner and the service was great.
