Diner Reviews
  • "The style of service suggests the waitstaff believe that the dinners are fortunate to have been afforded a table. This is truly a tragedy, as the food is quite good."

  • "In addition to the standard Bourbons they have another 25 or so even a few made just for them."

  • "Local Three was already our favorite place, both for dinner and for Sunday brunch. We even booked the Chef's Table for our anniversary a couple years ago, which was an amazing experience and totally worth the money. On our most recent visit, they somehow outdid themselves. My wife and I decided to share everything we ordered - appetizers, salad, entree, dessert, and even some of our drinks. The staff went out of their way to accommodate, going well above and beyond what I would have considered a reasonable response to our requests. They took really great care of us, and because of that, we'll continue recommending Local Three to everyone we know. Great place!"

  • "This was our first visit to Local Three, although we had been to prior tenant Joel several times. It is not fair to compare Local Three to Joel, but...it is still sad to see how far the decor, service and food have fallen. We stared with a Charcuterie Sampler - pricy at $18. The meats were fine, but not up to, say, Ecco. The stale, limp flatbread and the "A-1-like" dipping sauce ruined the dish for me. The Gum Creek Farms Pork Belly "Pastrami" appetizer was better, but a let down from the menu description of the dish. The Chili Marinated Painted Hills Bavette was tasty, but the avocado chimichurri was too much like guacamole. My wife's Carolina Mountain Trout a la Plancha was the best thing we had, but she only gave me one bite!"

  • "Food was really good. Staff at bar very unprofessional. Had to ask for cocktail napkins and stir straw; then bartender insulted my husband's shirt. Went on and on about it being "loud" to the point she was obnoxious. We were so stunned by her comments could not even react...until time to tip!"

  • "This was our first visit and we had brunch. Great, fun place with fresh delicious food. Looking forward to returning for lunch or dinner!"

  • "Went to brunch which was my first time at Local Three. All the brunch items were delicious. There were several options to choose from and a good selection for meat eaters and non-meat eaters. The dining room is a bit snug where some tables feel like you're eating with the diners next to you but the food made up for that. I'd like to go back for dinner to see the non-buffet offerings."

  • "Took two friends who had never been. They greatly enjoyed their dishes. I enjoyed the specialty cocktails and the chocolate mousse tasting!"

  • "The food is incredible here but the service is very slow. They must want you to sit back and drink quite a bit. Even for simple meal waiters will leave for a long time and took forever to ask for bill."

  • "Great Buffet brunch, expensive for what you get, but the experience is well worth it, wait staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. A Definite MUST-DO brunch place!"

  • "Great imaginative food, excelent service. Very good accoustics. You could actually have a conversation. Nice crowd."

  • "We asked for a kitchen tour and our waiter obliged giving us an interesting peek into their wonderful facility. Focus all on freshest seasonal ingredients and humane treatment and sustainability. Wonderful combinations if flavors in reasonable portions. Excellent!"

  • "We recently visited Local 3 for the first time, and didn't realize that on Sunday, early afternoon, you are required to have the brunch buffet. At first we were a bit skeptical, as none of us are huge buffet fans but I must say, the food was excellent! The buffet line goes through the kitchen, so you can see the food being prepared and how clean they keep the area. There were small amounts of the items placed on the counter, so most were fresh as they had to be replaced more often. I would recommend being hungry when you go, so that you can get your money's worth as the cost of the buffet is a little over $20 (includes drink). We will be back again for brunch, and plan on going back to get a chance to try their menu items as well."

  • "Delicious and creative food. Friendly service. Extensive wine and whiskey list. Fun location. "

  • "Heard great things about this restaurant from others. The menu selection was great. Asked the waiter for his favorites and he said the Red Neck Refry was good as a starter. It's was awesome. For the main entree, the swordfish with mushroom risotto was thick and meaty and the Bavette was tender and full of flavor. This restaurant has us wanting to come back. "

  • "Another amazing meal and fantastic service. Had the chicken livers, bruscetta, articular soup, burger, trout, swordfish and chocolate misuses...and wow. The chicken livers were a small app packed with flavor and the lobster broth on the trout is so delish. Thanks again!"

  • "We frequent Local Three and have never been disappointed. The cocktails are fabulous, the food is always fresh, interesting, and excellent. And the service is friendly and comfortable. "

  • "Brunch was ok. The price was great but the selection was just so so and the items were just ok nothing too impressive. The chicken confit was by far the best thing on the menu besides the usual fare you would find at any breakfast spot. Nothing subpar but nothing special. "

  • "This was our first time going here and we were very impressed. Ambiance was great and so was the food. Server was top notch from recommendations, to explanations of the food, and even explained the back history of a cocktail. We started with the cheese tasting. My wife had a chicken dish which included pickled strawberries and waffles. I opted to get The McDowell (burger). All off the food was delicious and the burger is in my top 3 burgers in Atlanta (I've had them all). Some of the other reviews I read said the price points were too high. I think the prices are fair but could see the chicken dish that was $30 be more in the $22-26 range. We will be returning here for sure!!!"

  • "Don't expect to find your normal southern comfort food here. Instead, the menu selections are a bit off-beat but incredibly well thought out and prepared. The wine list is acceptable, with a few nice choices. I'm definitely returning."

  • "A comfortable feel, like a rustic cabin. Innovative cuisine. I'd go again."

  • "Entertaining out of town business associates and needed a restaurant for dinner on a Sunday at 9:00p. Local 3 was great. I think our waiter may have been servicing a private party and our table. This made the waiter less attentive. Food was superb."

  • "We went there on Sunday-first time we had eaten brunch there- had been there for dinner several times and it was always excellent. Brunch was even better than we anticipated-great food and ambience and lots of energy"

  • "Every visit to local three is a sure bet. We love the cocktails, Lovelace and Mrs. Healy.... Smoked Mussels were amazing! Ken is our favorite server, he has extensive 'foodie' knowledge and never leads us astray. And the truffle Mac n cheese... Good Lord! Love this place!!"

  • "Local 3 never disappoints. The menu always stays innovative and fresh. Our server Kenneth was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and food/wine pairings. This is one of our top three favorite go-to places in Atlanta. "

  • "Server was on fire... went in with the intention of ordering a few standby favorites, but after his detailed descriptions we completely wipe the slate clean and started over. Happy to see Franklin Mint back on the cocktail list. "

  • "I'm not opposed to paying Atlanta prices for good food, but even by that standard, this place is pricey. Unique fair and ambiance and an exceptional selection of adult beverages make it worth visiting."

  • "Amazing food and amazing staff. If you have never been, this is a MUST for Atlanta foodies. Exciting seasonal menu that is always changing. Thanks again, Local Three!"

  • "My wife & I just had brunch today (Mother's Day) at Local Three and had a fantastic dining experience. A very unique concept of serving from the kitchen with an equally unique selection of expertly prepared food. As one would imagine, they were extremely busy but service could not have been better. Local Three is definitely the best brunch restaurant anywhere within the Atlanta area. I highly recommend it!!! Bill M."

  • "We had Mother's Day brunch their and it was great. The walk through kitchen is nice and different than most places. The restaurant it self was nice and menu was a non traditional touch on the traditional. "

  • "We went to the Mother's Day Brunch and went at 2:30 after the major crowds. We enjoyed friendly staff greeting us at the hostess stand where we shortly thereafter were led to our outside table (per our request). The buffet was well stocked with incredible gourmet selections. From the spring onion soup to the soft boiled eggs, the delectable quiche, the best bacon we've ever tasted, the fluffy lemon pancakes and more the food was fantastic! Our server was attentive without being annoying and allowed us to linger to enjoy our wine. We will definitely be back and will bring friends and family here often. "

  • "We recently entertained out of town guests who are foodies, so naturally Local Three came to mind. It did not disappoint. The creative combination of flavors and unique fare made for a totally enjoyable evening. It was our third experience there, all of which have been delicious. We will be back."

  • "It had been quite a while since I'd eaten at Local Three. My most recent experience reminded me of why it was one of my favorite restaraunts in Atlanta. Amazing meal, awesome service and enjoyable outdoor dining. The blistered asparagus was mind blowing, both of our entrees were amazing! Great experience, all around! "

  • "The star wars themed brunch was excellent. I'd previously been there for dinner but I was a completely different experience for brunch. Best brunch I've ever had! Hands down!! From the shrimp/lemon grits to the collard green jalepeno quiche to the lucky charms french toast was divine "

  • "When I arrived at the restaurant, I was told my reservation at 8 p.m. for 6 people wasn't for 5/2 but 5/30. Consequently, Local Three was unable to accomodate us inside and we had to sit on the patio. Normally this would have been fine but, on Friday night, it wasn't very warm and we were shivering during the majority of our meal. I am not sure how this disconnect could have occurred since Open Table clearly has my reservation for 5/2. In any case, I was very disappointed with this outcome. Incidentally, Local Three told me that these reservation errors happen fairly frequently with Open Table. "
