"I've been here quite a few times, but lately been overlooking here for other places. Decided to come back with some friends since it's so close to my place and I realized that I had actually missed coming here. Service had its good and bad points, but overall it was a decent experience. Food was excellent as usual."

"We had a friend coming in from out of town and wanted a casual but fun dinner in SOMA. I happened upon this place by accident while taking a walk the other day, and am so glad I did! We had a delicious dinner - the chicken was OUTSTANDING - deliciously seasoned, and a great value. The Local Salad was quite tasty, with a nice combination of flavors and textures, and the Truffle Parmesan Fries were a treat. Although the place was a tad noisy, we had a very enjoyable evening and will definitely be back!"

"The food is very good, the menu changes frequently, and the portions are very generous. The service is excellent and un-intrusive. The wine list is quite good - special mention for Hobnob pinot noir, which is delicious and inexpensive. Contemporary architecture still feels warm thanks to the open kitchen (and occasional open flames). Local is the perfect place for guests or out-of-towners. It feels like a hidden gem - there isn't much else on 1st St - the service is friendly, and you won't wait forever to get a table. It feels trendy, but without the pretension or overpriced menu. Go to Local."

"All I can say is that it is convenient to where we work and provides an option for a nice place to go for client/team meetings near the office. Would not go out of my way on a personal outing nor would I recommend it. The food was OK but not necessarily memorable. The male host at the front was not the warmest and a bit on the brusque side on our way out the door. We were hungry when we arrived and not hungry when we left - that about sums it up."

"This is a nice place. Good food and good service.
But It always take a long time to get the food. I understand the craziness in the kitchen, but I don't always have so much time for lunch.
And it's very noisy."
