We are a casual, family-friendly modern bistro focused on preparing traditional dishes with a minimalistic and straightforward approach.   • "Always bothered by the extremely noisy dining room. This time made a reservation (thru Open Table)requesting an outside table. When we arrived the hostess informed us that "outside dining" could not be reserved and the wait would be about an hour. Could not the manager have emailed me previously that outside dining could not be reserved? An outside table was open within 15 minutes of our arrival and sat empty for 40 minutes. Dining room was so noisy we could not have a pleasant conversation with our other couple. Food was so-so -- the chicken parm - tasted and looked like it was prepared direct from the freezer - a true disappointment. Seems to be a popular place but not one I would care to go back to or recommend."

  • "We stumbled on this place a couple of years ago and have introduced about 25 people to it since then, including a number of locals who were grateful for the experience. The menu includes about a dozen options that you don't find everywhere. The seafood with black linguine, the pork tenderloin and the veal chop are absolute musts, and you are required by law (Arizona Rev. Stat. 2006-89-402139) to try the drunken bread. The wine list is varied and prices are reasonable, although there are not enough options by the glass, and the drink menu is solid. Local Bistro is listed as Italian on Open Table, but it's really more American with some Italianish dishes. Go."

  • "As Grayhawk residents we find it a true neighborhood gem. Not only that the food was great as always and the service was wonderful. As we entertained a young couple who had not dined there before we decided to do "family" style, but in courses. The staff did such a great job and it became a wonderful dining experience for all of us. Thank you for being there."

  • "Delicious chicken schnitzel. Excellent marinara, not acidic. Well done! Special salad and Burrata very tasty. All 4 of us enjoyed our choices . Would definitely return. The server was friendly and courteous. The only thing that gets an ordinary mark is the Tiramisu. It was a bit bland"

  • "The waitress wrote down two wrong orders. We accepted the food that was brought because we didn't want to wait another 15 minutes, especially since the other two meals were correct. Neither of us cared for the wrong orders. The management went overboard apologizing and gave us free desserts to try to make up for it. However, the waitress never apologized and was dry blasé about it. We like the restaurant but hope she is gone the next time we go there."

  • "Best Lasagna my husband and our guest had ever tasted. Better than the tiny Italian restaurant we went to the next night. I had the special of Salmon Scampi. Yum! Huge portions. We took home the leftovers and loved them for next days lunch..Truly a great elegant neighborhood restarant."

  • "Disappointing experience this time. Had reserved a patio table and the maître d was unable to seat us as there were two people at a. Four top who lingered over an hour after paying their check. Couldn't he have invited them to have coffee or a drink on the other patio???? We had to dine in the noisiest inside ....we were comped with fantastic desserts, but still I was disappointed I had to entertain my out of towers in an environment that was way too noisy to talk and dine."

  • "We often come here for happy hour and always enjoy good food and wine. We had some friends in town and went here for dinner. We arrived early for our reservation, and even though they were busy, we were accommodated and seated quickly . Our waiter was outstanding and we enjoyed the seafood linguine (delicious) and two risottos. All were good. The only downside was that there was a large table next to us that had 4 or 5 young, screaming kids that kept running around the table. There wasn't much anyone could have done, but it was unfortunate to have such a nice evening interrupted with kids who were out of control. That being said, we have been here probably 15 times and never had this happen- it is typically a nice, energetic energy."

  • "I have now been there 2 times and the food is absolutely fabulous. Wonderfully creative European fusion food! Had the Duck Risotto ($20). Delish!! The Barrata ($8) is a staple as an appetizer. The Ahi Tartar ($12) was great as well, more citrus flavored than soy, would have preferred a little more soy/ginger flavoring. They are a bit pricey but such good food, worth it. My friend ordered the Arugula Salad with shrimp. She loved it and it was large enough for 2 people! The Pear (something) cocktail was very yummy!!"

  • "Every time we make a reservation we have to wait. Greeters at the front offer no apology and seem inept. Our server was disinterested at best--perhaps over worked or perhaps not very good. We saw him offer the table next to us some fruits for water--he never came to us. We had to ask for bread while all others got it. He dashed by and finally asked about our meal as he scurried past. The wait to get our food was unreasonably long. It is nice to have a restaurant in the neighborhood but we are not sure this is worth it."

  • "Until my last two visits to Local Bistro, they served bread and butter before the meal and offered a selection of fresh citrus for your water. Both were so nice. On both recent visits - no bread and on my most recent visit, no fruit for the water. Are they slipping? Are they to taken with their success? Yes, the food was still good. Note: No category exists in your system for the noise level being way too loud. We sat outside - the only place where the noise level is tolerable."

  • "I have been to Local Bistro now several times and it gets better and better every time. It was a busy night there. We spent just about 4 hours having dinner and desert with friends that we havent seen in years and though it was busy they never once tried to push us out the door even when they asked if we could change tables since they had a party of 8 that they needed to put the two tables together and we were in the middle of the place. They asked if we could switch tables and offered to buy us a round a drinks for doing so. Thats great customer service. I dont normally right reviews but this place is high on my list of places to eat and I will keep coming back."

  • "No matter what the website says you NEED to make a reservation or will have at least an hour and a half wait at popular dinner times. I would maybe go back for happy hour, but not dinner. The service was great and so was the wine, but the food was REALLY salty. All 3 of our dishes, the app and both entrees were salty. Also I had the linguine with clams and they were crunchy (i.e., sandy). I realize you can't get ALL the sand out, but they could have done better. I have a friend that has been there for lunch and did happy hour type food and said it was good. So maybe the pizzas are better."

  • "Packed on a Wednesday says something. Of course, it is high season in Scottsdale. Great service. Hit and miss on food. Short-rib tagliatelle was very good. The Bolognese was very average, although touted by the waiter as a signature dish. Caesar and beet salads were good/edible, but way below expectations. Need to go back and try other menu selections. Wine list was fairly priced with excellent variety. OpenTable's noise level rating only goes to energetic. The noise level is obnoxious. Don't sit inside during peak dining time if you cannot handle noise with your dinner."

  • "Wonderful food. Very unique specials that made our visit fun. Food is rich and hearty. The seafood specials of the day were very pricey. Pasta and red meat dishes were reasonably priced. The server was a tad heady. Happy hour cocktails do not extent into the Bistro: Bar only. They don't tell you that until you are seated in the Bistro. A charge for bread and butter seemed a tad cheap. It was not noted on the menu as an extra charge. Also, their wine pricing was very strange. For example, a few nice whites were priced at 1.25x the local wine retailers: nice value (and this was not on their "hot buys" list). However, one of my favorite Zins, Klinker Brick was priced 4x more than I buy it at Total Wine in Scottsdale."

  • "We have eaten at Local Bistro now at least 10 times over the past 6 months or so as this is our new local go-to spot. They have a high quality of food, very nice dishes with great flavors, and the service has been impeccable every time we go there. The best of all for us is that even though their menu is quite varied and higher end compared to neighboring restaurants, they are very kid friendly and have plenty of options for the our children as well. I am confident you will not be disappointed."

  • "We were a party of 3 adults and one toddler. I ordered fish special. It was okay but at $32 it wasn't worth it. Daughter ordered mushroom risotto. Not much flavor. Husband is easy to please and loves seafood . He got a black linguine with seafood and kept mentioning it sure was different. Drink wasn't a good mix either-- a piña with vodka infused vodka and rum. Too strong, not a good flavor and not worth $12. Nearby table ordered pizza which looked good and so did burgers. If we return that's what we will order. Forget dinner menu."

  • "Very energetic room from the bar to the banquettes. Wine is first class and reasonably priced. Solid selections by the glass (including Artistry for a steal at $16). Food is universally great. We split the best roasted chicken either of us have had. Bread pudding was awesome. Large portions, excellent preparation and ingredients and fair prices. That's why it's packed every night."

  • "Not a good experience. Noise level is beyond awful. We couldn't hear the waitress and she couldn't hear us. Conversation was impossible. Started off badly. We asked for a frozen margarita and were told "we don't have a blender"! Really!!?? Go to Walmart and buy one! Looks like too many reservations were made and everyone was unhappy. Host was buys apologizing to everyone. A reservation here, does not guarantee that you'll be seated any time soon. We ordered salads and a main course. Salads were fine as were the main courses, which came with a salad! Why didn't our waitress tell us this? Very strange experience. Food is just ok and not worth all the aggravation that went along with it. Don't go."

  • "The food, for the most part, was fantastic. I ordered the Filet Diane; a large, tender cut of meat cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the fresh salmon and loved it. The sides (polenta and Brussels sprouts) were barely warm, but both tasted great. The wine was reasonably priced and very good (we had "The Riddler" & "The Troublemaker"). The service was incredibly slow. The server said she would bring bread when she took our initial order, but the bread didn't come out until after we asked about it and even then it didn't arrive until after the main dishes. I attribute the lackluster service to the Valentine's Day rush, so I'd give them another try. The food and wine were more than enough for me to recommend this place to a friend."
