Diner Reviews
  • "But its noisy! If you like that its awesome, great food, wine and service!"

  • "The food was great. It was slow as they said, but how hard is it to put baby arugula and shaved rolled up salmon on a plate? For instance. Our waiter was rather out of it, poor memory. We would eat there agib. Hopefully better server."

  • "Local Bistro seems to never disappoint, from great new seasonal cocktails, to fresh summer and special menu items, we grabbed an early dinner on the 4th of July, enjoyed a couple of quick drinks at the bar, then had dinner. The fresh salmon/pasta special was delicious. My wife was looking for a wine pairing and Wade and the bartender let her sample several 'pours', that allowed her to select the right vintage for her entree. As always, a "go-to" spot that never disappoints."

  • "We had a difficult time being seated, was not offered other booth-back locations although several were available. Server was "snippy" with us when we ask to change a menu item 5 minutes later. Marinara sauce way too spicy-hot. Strange, odd and weird music was playing thru the speakers... Lastly, left cash for the tab and $20.00 turned up missing, they chased us down in the parking lot to "pay up" We refused since I knew exactly how many 20's I had in my possession. (At least they didn't call police.) Not likely to return...."

  • "My only complaint was the music was very loud and it was hard to hear. We do love eating here. Always busy and the food is consistently good. Wine prices are excellent. My husband and I always order a bottle. We highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "First time we had brunch here. Food was great, and service was excellent. Omelettes were well prepared and delectable. Great job! We will be back."

  • "Have been to Local Bistro 4 times and each time the food and service have been a cut above the average in this part of Scottsdale."

  • ""Local Bistro" is one of our "go to" restaurants whenever we are looking for reliable, top quality meals and good service. We have not had a bad meal there--ever! Service has always been excellent and if we have ever had a question or the kitchen has gotten something wrong (very rare) they have always taken care of the issue immediately and it's always been done in a manner that makes you feel appreciated. "Local Bistro" is a neighborhood gem and we are delighted that it's in OUR neighborhood!"

  • "This is our favorite brunch spot and it happens to be just a few miles up the road which is nice. The monkey bread French toast and the croque Madame are a must try."

  • "Always very enjoyable. The halibut special was excellent!"

  • "Love this place. Great food, service and atmosphere. It is loud inside which really doesn't bother me. Not good for a business dinner, other than that - enjoy. "

  • "I've been here 3 times. Food is excellent. My fav is the Tuna Tartare, and the New England Clam Chowder was the best I've had! Service is friendly but professional, well trained and knowledgeable. Wine list has quality choices at reasonable prices. One of our party required gluten free choices. I noted this when I made the Open Table reservation. Much to my surprise, someone from the restaurant called me to assure me that they had GF choices. It turns out that they had MANY GF choices clearly marked on the menu. Customers are treated with respect, from the welcoming smile as they open the door, to their willingness to ask questions of the Chef, to their regard for dietary needs. It's loud but you can still have a conversation. Luv it!"

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is consistently excellent and the service most of time is excellent. Their Sunday brunch is off a menu with bottomless bloody mary's or mimosa's. It is a little noisy at dinner, but you can still carry on a conversation."

  • "Sito reservation We were seated near the patio door near the main passageway for the staff. Noise unbearable not a single structure in the single dining room can absorb noise. Food ok but similar to another 30 equqlly godo restaurante in Scottsdale. Service did The best they colu screaming At us. Dessert tiramisu' to be avoided. Friends of boss accommodated in better seats that were kept for them: that is ok in a mafia restaurant but is not for my restaurant if I have a reservation I am a client too. Will never go back."

  • "My wife and I dined at local bistro this last weekend and the food, service, and ambiance, was excellent! The wine list is impressive and very diverse. The only detraction, and it's a minor one, is the noise level, it gets pretty loud. They might want to add some acoustical sound absorption somewhere to help soften the "din". Really great food, the service was superb, and the ambiance, (lighting, deco., etc.), is great."

  • "It is a basic place; it's unpretentious; but they do a nice job. They don't overprice their wine. A bottle of Veuve Cliquot that cost $39 at Costco is only $70 at Local Bistro. Most places charge 3 times or 4 times the discount price. The crowd is white hair."

  • "My husband and I always try to split a meal because we both are not able to eat large portions. We were with another couple that each had wine and 2 full meals. When we received our bill, it had an extra $5.00 for a split charge. When I asked the waiter, he said that he "FORGOT" to mention it when we ordered. He said it is on the menu. We asked to see the menu, and it was on the bottom VERY TINY PRINT. We asked to see the manager, and he/she never came to our table. We paid the bill and will NEVER go back, even though we live in Grayhawk. There are other great restaurants that honor food preferences of their patrons."

  • "Always a great place to dine in the neighborhood. Outside is the best as it is quiet. Food is always consistently good. The salmon is great and never overcooked. Daniel was a wonderful waiter!"

  • "Nice place to eat but would recommend and outside table. Food was good but when asked by our server if we wanted pepper and cheese on our appetizer we said yes and she smiled, turned and never came back. Maybe the noise? "

  • "I enjoy dining here. This wasn't our best experience. Our entree took a long time to arrive. One item needed to be sent back as it was undercooked. The service was inattentive. since we have had many good experiences here, we will return."

  • "Great food, great wine, good service but way too loud in there. They need to add fabric somewhere to keep the noise from bouncing off the hard services. Also, they are seating everyone way too close to each other. This won't stop me from going back again and again. I love the Wild Mushroom Risotto, thanks for bringing it back."

  • "Have been to Local Bistro many times and always enjoy it. The service is attentive without being intrusive. Nice mix of menu items. Had the calamari to start and it was moist and tender. Caesar salad very good. Love the Pappardelle Bolognese. Had the steak frites this time and the steak was a bit tough, but tasty. Will be back."

  • "This was our second visit to this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. The only problem is the noise level, which is challenging for everyone, and especially so for our guests who have hearing difficulties. Just as long as you're prepared for that one issue, the rest of the experience is top-notch."

  • "Arrived at 6:35 for out 6:45 reservation and our table was ready. The restaurant is a trendy spot and the food and service was very good. I've already recommended this place to a couple of friends! Soon it'll be so popular nobody will go there:)"

  • "Our experience of six folks dining was shared by all of is. Extremely loud, horrible inattentive service, and lack of any knowledge of the drink menu. Waitress did not even know what kind of bourbon they offered, telling is they had Dewar's before asking us to look at the bottles on the wall to pick. We have been there a few times, but will not return. There was absolutely no pleasure in our Friday night experience. Plenty of better places out there!"

  • "Easter Sunday after church is such a head ache. People, lines, bad service and everyone all dressed in their Sunday best trying to be polite, uh! But this year, Local Bistro had it going on! Fantastic service, great prices, great mimosas and we were all surprised at how good the food was. Great menu, will def be back. Our entire party was very impressed. Great job Local B! "

  • "Loved the food, had their fish of the day and it was fabulously prepared. Sat outside on the patio which I believe is a bit quieter than sitting inside. Prices are moderate and food portions are generous. Also tried the drunken bread and it was a good appetizer for the four of us!"

  • "We were visiting form out of town and decided to check this place out. It was very good and reasonably priced. The pizzas and pastas were delicious. We unfortunately ordered a bad bottle of wine and were not thrilled with headlights from parking cats shining into the restaurant but other than that were very pleased. We would come back for the great food. "

  • "Visiting friends in Scottsdale/Phoenix and after dining at Central Bistro, we decided to go to Local Bistro. It is very close for all of us and we wanted to stay local. The staff was very rude and unfriendly. We sat at the bar thinking that is where you normally get the best service. This bar is very small and I am not sure how 3 people behind the bar can give such sloppy, poor service. It seemed like we were an inconvenience to the staff and manager working the bar. I had ordered a salad with dressing on the side, and it came with the dressing poured over. When I metioned it to the bar tender, who took my order, he asked if I wanted it remade. What? Of course, that is not the way I ordered. There are too many restaurants in this area. "
