A word from Local 127
Local 127 is a new American eatery using only the freshest ingredients. Local 127 combines traditional American dishes handed down over time with practices from the modern American culinary world. Local 127 starts with the farmers. Working closely with the farmers the team is able to use only the finest ingredients according to the season, delivering incredible, tasty dishes. With the art of gastronomy being the driving force, everything from the taste, the presentation, the smell and the feel of Local 127 ties into the idea that without history there would be no today and that without progression there would be no tomorrow. Rather than a tribute to America, Local 127 is more of a celebration of all things American. America being the melting pot that it is, one never knows what might show up on your plate or in your glass at Local 127.Continued

  • "The menu was really fun, and we sat next to green eggs and ham prints because the hostess said it matched my wife's dress. We had the thai wings for appetizer. We were offered sparkling water right off the bat and that was fantastic. The beer and wine list were fantastic, lots of local favorites. My wife had the scallops and I had the steak fritas with chimichurri, they were both awesome. The menu really generated a lot of conversation between my wife and I. My wife had the deconstructed sour cream cheese cake with basil whip cream and LOVED it. I had coffee for dessert which was from a french press and the roast was delicious. Everyone in the restaurant was super nice and smiley."

  • "Went to this place for the first time and absolutely loved it. Everything we got was a winner! You can't go wrong!"

  • "Apparently the original chef left, new guy came in-still very good, but not quite the level it was. Maybe still working the kinks out. The staff are all amazing, very cool group of people."

  • "Local 127 delivers a fresh menu in a retro atmosphere just a block off Fountain Square. They very much capitalize on the history of Cincinnati as porkopolis. At least half the items on the menu (appetizers, small plates, and entrees) include pork. The small plates were our favorite. We ordered the mac & cheese and the animal fries (both of which included pork). I thoroughly enjoyed my entree of scallops, but my husband's porkopolis was just a little bit too much pork for him (or for pretty much anyone). Overall a great experience and a delightful evening - we just won't order quite as much pork next time!"

  • "Loved the appetizers. I was a bit disappointed in the Porkopolis. There was no mention of the smoking of the pork and I don't like smoked meats. The cassoulet was wonderful. My friend's entree was excellent. We enjoyed the desserts. The great thing about this place is that the menu changes constantly, with the seasons. I will probably go back."

  • "I went to dinner here with a group of men friends. Allof us thought the menu was limited. Though the meals were alright they were certainly not anything above average. The service was good and the noise level not a problem. For us this was nothing special."

  • "The atmosphere is entertaining mix of neighborhood cafe and upscale chic. The cheese plate made us laugh at the nibbles of cheese with dabs of jellies and sweets when they arrived. Hard rolls were served water glasses filled then the B.L.T. with soup and burger with fries arrived. The sandwich hit the spot but the burger was overkill. Five or six inches tall it was a monster that I couldn’t finish and enough fries for three people. Came to sixty dollars with tip."

  • "We had a very nice dinner at Local 127. The food was great and the servers were wonderful. We loved the setting. The food was trendy and also very good. We had the dates as an appetizer and they were amazing, my date had the cauliflower soup which he loved, I had the Cesar salad which was the best I ever had. Which each had the burger which was amazing, I could not finish and made a great lunch the next day."

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed. We are in our mid 30's. The wait staff are in tune with the menu and are able to explain their wine recommendations. This is rare in Cincy. Menu rotates and much is bought local. At 7 the place was nearly empty however within a half hour or so the place was packed and loud. We didn't mind because even though it was a little louder than most fine dining, we still felt that our conversation was for the most part private. It may be something to keep in mind if you wanted that nice quite romantic meal, but other than that there is no reason to not frequent 127!"

  • "This is my second time at Local 127. The first visit was for lunch, the second for dinner. On both occasions, the food was awesome, and the service was superb. In fact, I'd go a bit further and say that the food was memorable. Just two reservations to note. First, my wife and I shared an appetizer (deviled eggs, best I've ever had), each had a salad, and shared an entree. The salads came out with the entree, which I'll chalk up to innocent mistake, but is a mistake nonetheless. Second reservation was the cocktails. If you're going to charge 11.00 for a cocktail, it had better be a good pour. These weren't. I'd say just a touch more than a straight shot. They'd do a lot more business if they paid attention to that."

  • "We had always wanted to try Local 127 and decided to make a reservation for Saturday evening. Luckily for us, the place was packed, but our table was waiting. Service was timed perfectly, the server/waiter were friendly and efficient, and the hostess was very nice. We ordered two burgers, which we think were the best we've ever had. The fries were spot on. Their amuse bouche was a great touch, as were the rolls that they brought around. The salad was ample and tasty, but the pork belly bites left much to be desired (looked like chicken nuggets). All in all, a great experience. We plan to return soon!"

  • "It started when they called to confirm reservation and asked if there were any concerns or food allergies. I thought that was good because my wife is gluten free and I advised them of that. We arrived and were promptly seated in a nice spot for two. Advised waiter my wife was gluten free and almost no recognition by him of that. We tried the cured and pickled. The terrines were so so and the porcetta was all fat. She had the smoked burger that was mediocre and I had the rossetti and the dates. The dates were overdone and the pasta ok. Waiter seemed very stiff and uncomfortable."

  • "We have been to Local 127 before and it is always a gem. This time they were able to facilitate a table which met our needs and as always the service and the food were outstanding."

  • "The staff is very sensitive to any special needs. For example, we don't eat pork and they either adjusted dishes or helped us navigate the menu. They carefully monitored our time constraints as well, so we didn't have to rush."

  • "The food was great but the atmosphere was a little too pretentious for my taste. I was happy that I went because I had been curious for some time but I don't think that I'd be returning. I didn't understand a lot that was on the menu and there was no real description of the food. It seemed like they were trying to hard to be different and it didn't come natural. However, my meal was delicious and the wait staff were very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the chicken with wheat berries and it had a really great sauce."

  • "The food was average at best. Most certainly not worth the price. Our steaks came out very under cooked and when they returned to the table they were charred. Service staff was not attentive and rarely visited the table."

  • "One night in Cincinnati & I chose this restaurant from very favorable reviews on a food app. Atmosphere & décor of the restaurant is casual urban cool with comfortable seating. The scallop mains dish was delicious, sautéed with a crisp finish & melt in your mouth interior. My partner ordered a steak that came with a small streak of green foamy potato that really was no more than a decoration. We asked for some fries to try and supplement the dish which really was just a lonely steak on the plate. Charging for the fries was ridiculous & our waiter managed after a couple of rounds with management to remove the charge. Would highly recommend the food otherwise and the waiter was exceptional......Have Dessert!"

  • "This used to be a wonderful place. The food is still presented well but it is over salted and the portions have shrunk. The quality of the ingredients has also gone down as well. With so many great places in Cincinnati to eat, I will not be going back."

  • "Food was very good. Quiet atmosphere. Excellent and friendly service. We shared two "Bar Bites" and a dinner salad. Both were very good. With two glasses Of wine, our bill was $60. We'll go back for a real dinner the next time we're downtown."

  • "Local 127 consistently delivers! Reservation was right on time even though they were pretty busy, service is great (waiters know the menu and make great suggestions) and the food is amazing! Menu changes so each time we go (this was third) we get to try something a little different and new which is really great...every meal has been perfection!! Fresh and delicious Local 127 never disappoints"

  • "I've lived downtown for nearly four years and walk past Local 127 every day on my way to work but because it's not really in one of the hot spots my husband and I had always overlooked it. On a hopping Saturday night we decided to go out on a whim and because it is not in a hot spot it had a reservation still available. I promise not to overlook Local 127 anymore. All the items we ordered were tasty and well-prepared. The service was great. There are several things on the menu I still want to try. It is pricey but in line with restaurants similar in quality and scope."

  • "I'd heard so many great things about Local 127 and was so excited to finally try it. I might have gone overboard on food for one but it was well worth it. I had the pork belly, mac n cheese with bbq pulled pork and the winter salad. All amazing flavors. I will definitely be back for the scallops my friend had. The staff is helpful with recommending good noshes as well as very attentive. Definitely recommend this one."

  • "We had a wonderful experience here. I was drawn here by the local food aspect for certain. But the vibe and decor were really welcoming and comfortable, and fun to look at. The food was amazingly delicious. We had great service. Look forward to going back for dinner soon!"

  • "We had a very delicious dinner. The meat and fish offerings were not exotic. They were the same that you see in other restaurants but with interesting and very enjoyable taste twists that you don't see at other places. The atmosphere was light and pleasant. The tables were spaced so you didn't feel you were part of the next tables conversation. The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. My wife and I agree that it is our new favorite restaurant."

  • "We hadn't been here in about a year, no real reason, just hadn't made it back. The menu seemed to be much smaller than before, fairly limited with respect to entrees. They were out of one of their four desserts (at 7PM on Sat night), which I thought was odd. The food was good, the entrees could have been served warmer - I think they had been sitting for a while before they were brought out to us. My husband and I agreed that something was missing, but neither of us could put our finger on it. I am being picky because this is a pricy place to eat for it not to be outstanding."

  • "The restaurant is not set up well to handle cold weather. Every time the door opened we felt a blast of cold air, even being at a table that was a least 6 tables deep from the entrance. Just not what we expected for this level of restaurant. The waitress was nice but lacked any level of enthusiasm for the menu items."

  • "Here with a group of first-time diners. Service was excellent. We enjoyed our cocktails. Re: our meals, we were first surprised that a restaurant that promotes, fresh locally-sourced dining has a fixed menu with no specials - this does not seem compatible with the stated concept. Our roasted beet salad had 6 small beets (@~$2 ea), no evidence of roasting and tasted like they came out of pickling jar. 4 of us were very happy with the flavor of our dinners (teres major, salmon and scallops) but the diner with scallops had 4 scallops -a very light dinner portion. The corn meal muffins and complimentary cookies are a generous touch. Overall we enjoyed Local 127 but probably won't return as inconsistent value."

  • "Our meals were great. I had the Steak Frites and the steak was cooked perfectly. My wife had the salmon and she said that it was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. My favorite was the pork belly apps. They were awesome. I cannot wait to go back again for the food. The service was good except for our waiter. We only saw him twice, once for the order and once for the check. We had to flag someone for a refill of our water glass. It was also a little on the noisy side while eating dinner. I can expect that at some places, but I am surprised at the noise level at this restaurant."
