  • "My husband and I enjoyed our dinner at Lobster Shop celebrating my birthday. Everything was fantastic from the time we arrived to the time we left. One of our favorite restaurants."

  • "I took my girlfriend to this restaurant and it was awesome. The service was great, and the food was incredible. They brought us everything we asked. The prawns I had were awesome and my girlfriend thought that the food was awesome as well."

  • "Thank you so much for ensuring we got a table seat. We were visiting from Arizona and it was just beautiful. Your food was tremendous!"

  • "Although I had been to the Ruston Way waterfront several times, I only recently dined at The Lobster Shop. I went to conduct a business lunch, wherein two colleagues joined me. We were immediately struck by the beautiful view. Our service technician was very kind, and made great recommendations. The food was delicious, and my colleagues were impressed and enjoyed themselves (this was also their first experience). Overall, we enjoyed a great meal, and were able to conduct our business in a very fitting atmosphere. The service was perfect (we were well tended but not overwhelmed by our tech), and my party agreed that we would be visiting again. In fact, I visited with another group the next day."

  • "As always, Lobster Shop performed without a flaw. The marguerite was very large and perfect, the food was presented in an appetizing manner and was very flavorful. The fact that it was a beautiful evening didn't hurt. I really appreciated the fact that when the sun went down, the staff immediately removed the umbrellas and lit the gas heaters just enough to take off the cool evening. If we didn't have theater tickets we would have stayed for a glass of wine."

  • "Sad to see the other one go but this one is also very good. My customer was very impressed."

  • "We went there for a special occasion dinner. The service was outstanding, the view incredible, and the atmosphere was perfect for our event. I give the food a 90% excellent rating. The fish and lobster entrees were done very well, but the lobster bisque was both overly-floured and overly-sherried, and the herbed mashed served underneath the lobster tails was a thick filler. Everything else we had was fresh and tasty. They had an excellent wine list and prices were what I expected for the setting- moderate to high."

  • "Dinner was delicious. The one complaint was that the unopened mussels (appetizer) should not have been presented."

  • "I went to the Lobster Shop for my anniversary dinner during the Twilight dining time. Everything was great, my steak was a little too rate...but that was my fault for not sending it back. The staff are extremely nice and Will cater to most every need. Great place to go for a romantic night out."

  • "Beautiful restaurant, great food. The Copper River Salmon was amazing!"

  • "It was an early dinner for me and my husband. We made a reservation and were glad we did. It was busy! We ordered off the Twilight menu. The entrees were very good. The dessert was not too impressive, however. The Creme brûlée was not really Creme brûlée but it was ok. All in all it was ok and a good vAlue for the money. The ambiance was nice. I always enjoy looking at the bay. My husband was disappointed that his favorite beer wasn't offered. (Ninkasi.) But found a reasonable substitute. It was noisy but to be expected when it's so busy."

  • "This was our 30 anniversary and our dinner at Lobster Shop South topped the experience off perfectly. The staff was aware of the note I'd made in my OpenTable reservation about our anniversary and mentioned it with congratulations as we were seated and served. We had a nice fairly remote seat with an excellent view of the bay, away from the larger group tables which allowed us to sit and watch the scenes outside and talk comfortably yet privately. All the food was suburb and the service was outstanding. Melt in your mouth Filet Mignon, perfectly cooked lobster tails and the Grand Marnier Strawberry dessert was over the top delicious. The staff was perfectly attentive to our needs while allowing us time to talk and relax. "

  • "Great food, great view, and great service, from hostess to servers to bussers. The Twilight Dining (?) menu was a great deal with excellent choices. The view was very pleasant and the whole restaurant had an exciting, friendly vibe. "

  • "A friend and I had lunch at Lobster Shop South on Friday, May 23rd. It was excellent. We had the Halibut and it was very good. I had the chocolate cake with no flour. It was fantastic. The service was great. It was a very enjoyable luncheon. I will recommend it to my friends and others who are seeking a fine restaurant."

  • "We visited The Lobster Shop for our 25th anniversary. We enjoyed our experience from the moment we walked in. We asked the hostess to take our picture and she gladly agreed. We had a seat by the window and were so pleased with the view. Our server (Diane?) was probably the best server we've ever had. She didn't hover but checked on us often. She anticipated our needs, was thoughtful and respectful. Dinner was amazing! We had salads, the top sirloin, Alaskan halibut, raspberry cheesecake and crème brulee. So good! Thank you for a wonderful evening!"

  • "I have been coming to The Lobster Shop on Rustin way for 25 years and have never had a bad meal or poor service. Incredible seafood, salads and appetizers. The view is to die for and also one of the best Sunday Brunches around! This is a go to place for company in from out of town. One of our special places for a romantic dinner as well. My wife and I have developed intolerances to certain foods and the staff is always more than happy to accommodate our needs and still delivery a great meal. The best lobster I have ever had anywhere!"

  • "We've been to Lobster Shop a number of times for dinner, this was our first time for brunch. OMG, what a buffet! The food was fantastic, the seafood table was overflowing, the dessert table was to die for, and there was even order your own omelettes! However, if you're gluten free, or vegetarian, all there is to eat is fruit - and $26 is a bit spendy for tea and fruit. Come hungry and leave your diet plan at home!"

  • "Our party of four was looking forward to celebrating a special birthday, and we were not disappointed in any aspect of the evening. We were seated promptly even though it was a busy Saturday night (including pre-Prom diners), and our server was attentive and helpful. The menu, fresh sheet, and wine list were appealing and comprehensive. Our entrees were lobster tails, weathervane scallops, ribeye steak and New York steak, all cooked to perfection and served with flair. Our server was conversational without being intrusive, and helped make the evening memorable. This was our second visit (our first was on Christmas Eve, also a stellar meal), and we'll definitely be returning soon!"

  • "This was our second time at this restaurant and it could not have gone any better. We arrived at 6:20 for our 6:30 reservation and were sat right away. The service was top notch and the food was fantastic. We highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Took my elderly mom here for dinner and it was perfect. Great value on the twilight menu. Especially loved the Lobster Shop Signature Salad, apples, blue cheese, pecans and a citrus vinaigette."
    Dined on 5/14/2014
  • "Our overall experience was good. However, I would have to say that the quality of the food has changed. Maybe it is due to new management, but overall I would probably rate Salty's at Alki or Redondo as a better meal. "

  • "Everything was perfect! It was my grandmother's 95th birthday and the receptionist was able to arrange a lovely table with a view. The waitress was patient, friendly and efficient. The food was prepared perfectly and the view of the water was lovely. An eagle even made an appearance. Could not have asked for a nicer dining experience!"

  • "I wasn't that happy with the food. It didn't seem as fresh as I was expecting. It would be nice to have a brunch/menu option. I won't be coming back for brunch there again :( "
    Dined on 5/4/2014
  • "The only downside to Sunday brunch was when they were slow to replenish some items on the buffett when it got busy. Regular breakfast selections for those who don't like seafood with an omelette bar and waffles, prime rib and pork sliced to your liking. Salmon-both smoked and thinly sliced lox, oyster shooters, steamer clams, crab legs, peel and eat shrimp, and great chowder make this a great choice for out of town friends or a special occasion. Good service and wonderful bay view."
    Dined on 5/4/2014
  • "Everything about the Lobster Shop Sunday Brunch is outstanding! My husband and I were celebrating our 60th birthdays and chose the Lobster Shop for our family gathering. We were a party of 8 adults and 5 children, and each was welcomed and accommodated. The food was amazing, as was the service. I think it must be difficult to serve a large party with so many children, but the service was excellent, even with all of the little ones. Absolutely a delight!"
    Dined on 5/4/2014
  • "The views are exceptional but the food selection lacked in many areas. Replenishment of food was spotty leaving us with the feeling we were eating left overs at home. Clam chowder was grainy and lacked a true clam taste. Think of it as a potato soup, not clam chowder. Seafood selection was marginal: shrimp was rubbery, salmon, although tasty, was picked over and unrecognizable (see note on replenishment), steamer clams were acceptable. The balance of the selections were standard buffet items of little imagination. Even though the price is reasonable $26.95 for a buffet on the waterfront, I would definitely recommend this restaurant increase their prices to support a better culinary experience. "

  • "We arrived to be seated right away out side on their deck it is so awssoke ! The food was to die for steak and austrialian lobster tail with salad and bread to start us off ! The service was top notch and couldnt have asked for a better experience ! Thank you Lobster Shop we will be back!"

  • " the service is always top notch, the view is awesome, and the ambiance is soothing yet elegant. The food is always for lack of a better word 'stellar'. If ever I wish to impress someone I bring them here and let the service, view, and food do the rest. There was nothing left to improve in our visit our server "Makenzie" (I think I mispelled her name) was amazing her knowledge of the foods impeccable and when we asked what happened to a few of the selections my husband made in the past she was quick to let us know that they were still offered but not on the menus. She earned the 5 stars totally!"

  • "We are from Spokane and we wanted to enjoy our last night in Tacoma at a special place. Your restaurant didn't disappoint us! Our table was in front of the window on a glorious evening and the view was amazing! Our waitress was very attentive and the food was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful memory of Tacoma. "

  • "The restaurant was very nice with a great view of the water. Our waitress was polite and attentive but no overbearing. The only negatives I have are the food, it was ok. For the price and location I expected better. Stanley and Seaforts, and Anthony's have the same variety of food and cost roughly the same but are much better; Anthony's is even right down the street from The Lobster Shop."

  • "This was our second time at Lobster Shop South, and the first time going there for lunch. There were four of us in our party. We had the sampler platter which included excellent artichoke dip for crusty bread., excellent fried shrimp and good calamari. I had the Shrimp Po' Boy Sandwich that I would rate "very good." Our friends each had crab melt sandwiches, which they enjoyed as well. My dining companion had fish tacos and here is where TLSS lost its 5th star. Just okay. We finished with a good, but not great, creme' brulee. We like Lobster Shop South, and will be back again."
