Welcome to the lobster Shop South, located on Ruston way on the waterfront in Tacoma.

The Lobster Shop restaurants have been operating since 1977. Offering some of the Pacific West’s favorite seafood dishes.…

The restaurant sits over the waters of Commencement bay, offering breath taking views of both Mount Rainier or the Olympic mountain range.
During the summer months the restaurant offers outdoor dining and with a dock available for boaters makes for an excellent day get away.

The Lobster shop has always been the place where the South sound loves to celebrate, whether a birthday, anniversary or promotion you just can't beat the atmosphere.

"Our 45th Wedding Anniversary. We made reservations on-line through OpenTable the morning of our celebration Brunch and got a fabulous corner table with a terrific view. The server was excellent and all of the staff did an great job considering how busy this place in for a Sunday Brunch. Huge selection of food and the desert selection was the best."

"We were at the Lobster Shop celebrating a birthday. We had nine people in attendance. Our service was great. Our server was attentive and anticipated our needs. Our group included a small child and an elderly person. Both were treated respectfully and were helped with thoughtful suggestions for their food selections."

"The brunch is to die for. Amazingly delicious food!! The service is wonderful. I believe our server was Cassandra, she was very friendly and kept out drinks full. We will deff. Be back to eat!"

"I was disappointed that there were no oysters on the half shell and that the crab claws were over-cooked (it was difficult to impossible to get the meat out of the shell). The oyster shooters came out 8 at a time: not enough for a full house. Also, the ciappino, one of my usual favorites, seemed to consist mostly of empty shells. No hash browns at all and the Bloody Marys weren't as strong as they had been in the past. I had out of town guests and found myself making excuses, although having no previous experiences there with which to compare, our guests were happy enough. The table servers were absolutely first rate finding the perfect balance of non-intrusive attentiveness. Recommended but with some reservation."

"Funny thing, we had not been to the Lobster Shop for sometime. It was just a last minute idea to go becuase we had an old gift certificate. The food is better than we remember. Left us wondering if they have a new chef, upgraded things etc.... and also had us thinking we have been missing a great spot. We'll be back again soon."
