  • "Much different than when it was Jackson Steakhouse. Very bright mostly white interior. Our waiter was excellent and knowledgeable and very friendly. The food was excellent. Though it is seafood 3 out of the 4 had steak. The filet was as good as any of the usual steakhouses. Prices are similar to the steakhouses. The flash fried lobster tail was excellent."

  • "I have had lunch and dinner there for various occasions. if you are there for a business meeting, enjoy lunch time for the opportunity of great food and service while able to share a conversation. Night time is much noisier like grand central station in NYC. Seafood and steaks are top quality and impressive wait staff and management skills to add to the enjoyment of your evening."

  • "This is a nice restaurant and a great addition to the FLL restaurant scene. We travel to Boca to Chops Lobster Bar (a sister restaurant) and love the place. This is not Chops. It has some great ideas, but it will take some time to elevate them to meet the price tag. Our dinner was 150 pp with a very moderate bottle of wine. To start, we had the flash fried lobster tail (recommended) and the hamachi (not recommended - this dish needs crunchy salt and citrus; the wasabi/soy was too boring and the jalepeno was too exciting). We had fish for the main. beautifully prepared and delicious. Not really remarkable, but good competent fish. The service was great. Really lovely staff. They try hard to make you welcome. Kudos to the staff."

  • "My husband and i were there on Saturday night, 6:15 pm reservation. I had the Tuscan Kale Salad and it was delicious. We shared the fried lobster tail - also delicious. We sat in a booth about 1/2 way back and the noise level was so overwhelming that we could not hear each other talk and then the volume was turned up louder. Some of the patrons were talking very loudly. When dining at an expensive restaurant I expect good ambiance which includes a quiet and calming atmosphere. This was like eating in a bowling alley."

  • "The atmosphere is vibrant, elegant, and the place to be in Fort Lauderdale these days. The food is definitely a winner on the seafood side, everything a la carte with the sides being good size portions and very tasty, with the service a bit chaotic, yet the personalities you would overlook the chaotic side of it. Expect a wait even if you have reservations. I was just at my breaking point when they sat us and immediately fed us a flat bread, that was also delicious. Therefore, I was able to overlook the wait."

  • "Held a business meeting their and the waitstaff were excellent. Attentive enough to let you know they were there, but smart enough not to interrupt business conversation. The food was good, but I want to return for dinner to sample how the create a meal. This is a very nice place and look forward to returning"

  • "While at the bar waiting for our table the bartender never once came over to us though I made eye contact & tried to wave at him. He pretended not to see us or he didn't have his contacts in that night. However, a hostess casually asked "how is everything?" and normally I would say "fine" out of reflex but this time I said "we've been at the bar for almost 15 minutes and that bartender is ignoring us, why?" At that exact moment we told our table was ready. The manager came to our table to say she was sorry about the bar situation and I said I wasn't upset just surprised. Meal & waiter service were very good. At the end of our meal the manager had comp'd our check 50%. That's great customer service and it's the reason I will return."

  • "The food was excellent. 3 of the4 in our party chose the Fried Lobster Tail. It was outstanding. The Lobster Bisque was equally outstanding, but a little pricey if you add the lobster pieces. Overall the service and ambiance was also outstanding. Our waiter had knowledge about everything on the menu. HIS service to us was the best we ever had. He was congenial (JOHN the Greek , from Bay Ridge in Brooklyn)."

  • "We ordered Porterhouse steak - 26 oz - for 2. It looked more like 20 oz. and it was "tough". Not up to the $66 cost! We were very disappointed. I ordered another glass of white wine. Our server did not asked if my "empty" glass at the table was OK to use (wine I had brought from the bar to our table). She just poured the new glass of wine into the existing glass which had had different wine in it! This was a rookie mistake. This restaurant has great design and ambience. It also has a high noise level. The food should be of a higher quality. We were very disappointed."

  • "The food was a real disappointment. The Caesar salad was loaded with a salty dressing and looked more like a chopped salad. The Tuscan kale salad was excellent - good thing since I sent my entree back. Two of our 4 entrees were so overcooked and dry that we sent them back. The substitute entree was much too salty and at barely a 3 oz. portion for $34, way overpriced. Kudos to the manager who handled everything in a very courteous and professional manner. I would expect a seafood restaurant to properly cook fish. They should know better than to let an inferior dish leave the kitchen. Too many other good restaurants in the area to return here anytime soon."

  • "We absolutely love this relatively new restaurant so are frequent diners. The flash fried lobster tail is spectacular, all of the fresh whole fish are good choices and we partcularly like the brussel sprouts as a side. Steaks are the finest and cooked to perfection. Though noise levels are high, everything else is fabulous. Be aware that prices are high but food is equally high quality. Reservations are a must at dinner though one can pop in during lunch time. Valet parking at the front door. Enjoy."

On the negative side the pace of the meal was too fast and the booth, in which were seated was adjacent to the open kitchen and way too noisy and bright to enjoy the experience. Overall I would say the restaurant is very good, but given the negatives not worth a repeat visit."

  • "I recently hosted my birthday dinner there March 11th, and what was a 20 person reservation quickly turned into 35 people! The restaurant manager and hosts were extremely accomadating and made room do all of my guests. The restaurant does have a private room available however it was already reserved for this evening. This was my first time here, but from the valet service outside to the waiting area I was very impressed! The staff was friendly and even with a large group service was very quick. The final bill was easily split and they even gave free glasses of champagne when my boyfriend proposed! We will definetly be back!"

Entree selections and presentation were good, although ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was salty in the extreme. Service was mediocre at best, waiter would disappear for long periods of time. Noise level was very high, which removed any sense of intimacy from the dining experience. At the prices they charge I would not necessarily rush back"

  • "Since its opening I had heard mixed reviews of this restaurant. We are well traveled and know good food and service which this restaurant lacks.Our servers were very inexperienced with their timing way off. Water was poured twice into my vodka drink instead of the water glass! I ordered a salad light on the dressing and it came swimming in dressing. I had a crab cake also swimming in butter. The kitchen servers had their thumbs in every plate served. Entrees were very ordinary. The venue is very pretty but the noise level overwhelming. I would go so far as to say this is the most over rated and over priced restaurant I have ever eaten in."

  • "This is a hot spot right now on Las Olas Blvd. Food is very good. Service is good...the bar is missing some essentials... Like real olive juice (green) for dirty Martinis.... A lot of fish on the menu... Dover sole my favorite... But for the meat eaters there are steaks and chops...the corn mash is a must and the beet salad is awesome...."

  • "This is the third time we have eaten at the lobster bar and each time is as good or better than the last- the appetizers are plentiful -the octopus is remarkable - flatbreads delicious- great salads- the flash fried lobster tail is always a treat- but the whole grilled fish is the star! Perfectly cooked -boned and served with lemon and oil "Greek style" melts in your mouth ! For the meat lover the ny strip and ribeyes are standouts!! Great wine list with varied price points - desserts are a must- the citrus tart or the profiteroles or pavlova are all incredible !!!! Enjoy !!"

  • "I went here for business dinner. First, we were greeted by the valet staff thst was very nice and actually retrieved my cell phone from my car. Second, the hostesses were very beautiful but very friendly and pleasant. They actually held our table for 30 minutes until all of my guests arrived. The wait staff was professional and very helpful. most important, the FOOD was to die for. I had the Surf''nTurf-Steak Au Poivre and Lobster Tail. excellent isn't even enough to describe the food, service, atmospher! In my Opinion this is Ft. Lsuderdale's best restaurant!"

  • "When my friend told me that we were going to Lobster Bar, I had no idea that it was the same as the one in Atlanta which I'd eaten at years and years ago. Well it was almost as if I had stepped back in time because the two restaurants are almost identical in every way. My research told me that they are owned by Buckhead Life Group which really knows how to put together fantastic food, amazing ambiance and an incredible wait staff. I had the house lobster which was out of this world."

  • "Love the sister restaurant Chops Lobster in Boca Raton and was excited to try this restaurant in Ft Lauderdale. First thing it was very warm, table next to us complained too, nothing they could do.. Ordered a dozen oysters for an appetizer, half came with no meat in them at all just ice.. Our guests complained to us about the portion sizes, very small, and the side dishes very disappointing. Only redeeming feature, the dessert was excellent."
