We stumbled upon LM for dinner prior to a show and it was truly the highlight of our week. The service was warm, unique and exceptional ALTHOUGH nothing could prepare us for the outstanding food. We enjoyed a truly unique dining experience that included pea soup with pork belly, melt in your mouth spinach gnoochi with fresh and vibrant vegetables. The cheese plate and dessert closed out the meal and left us with a FABULOUS meal. LM is a must for anyone who enjoys a relaxing dinner that leaves you in awe of the food.

This is my 3rd time at LM. The first time was awful (bad cuts of meat and poor sevuce) but the past 2 times were beyond expectations. The wait staff can start off a little aloof but once they engage, they are fun, helpful and engaging. Being Italian, I decided to order the Risotto but did not expect it to be very good. I was wrong - it was outstanding. In fact it was the best I have ever had! Keep up the great work - I look forward to trying Troquet, their sister restaurant on Montrose.

The kind of place that wannabe foodies swoon for, mistaking meager portions & dim lighting for luxury. It's just decent, not stellar, and it's grossly overpriced. For the $45 weeknight prix fixe menu, one course was about half a cup of gazpacho, which had an odd anise flavor. Another option was one sweetbread - cooked just right, but with just 2 small leaves of frisee to counteract the richness. 2nd course of monkfish that my companion & I had was well prepared, but it's an affordable, unfancy fish. Dessert was literally a tablespoon of chocolate mousse. Bill came to $128 for 2 menus + 2 glasses of wine, WITH a LivingSocial Deal taken out. Left hungry. Service was just ok. Go to Bistro Campagne for better, rustic French fare.

Excellent romantic bistro meal. We went for my girlfriend's birthday. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for; small room, fairly dimly lit, nice space. Our server was also excellent; friendly, attentive and seemed happy to give us suggestions. I would describe our appetizers of snails and asparagus as good, not great. The duck entree was very good, perfectly cooked, but could have used more browning on the thick fat layer. The veal entree was really outstanding. I'm not a dessert guy, but the creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake were also great. The relaxed modern approach creates a nice niche for this place in a Chicago's crowded scene of good French bistros.
