We arrived for our 7:30p reservation and because we were a party of 5 (two moms, and daughters ages 17, 11 & 10) we were seated alone upstairs. No biggie, it was a great view and quiet. The waiter seemed nice at first. However, that did not last. It was obvious he did not want to wait on us. He left our table twice and told us to keep thinking and he'd be back. We were certain what we wanted to order with a minor question or two. (Should I avoid anything specific (that's not obvious) b/c I'm GF... and one girl asked if they had any fruit as a sub for turnip greens.) At that point he suggested maybe we should go somewhere else... The P&P downstairs as it might be better suited for our needs. Nope, we are good I said (cognizant of the time and knowing we had a show to catch at The Fox at 9pm). Side note: the P&P is noted on their website as a "community drinkery serving snacks..." Ummm, really??? Moving on, We asked for bread three times before it arrived. We ordered wine and although we were looking at a wine list he took the liberty of writing Pinot and Cab... Not asking which Pinot or Cab we preferred. When I asked, his reply was they are all good, I'll just give you the house. Ummm. Ok. Next was the food. Scallops were great! Chicken was totally botched, not at all what we ordered. Not the chefs fault but again the waiters fault. It was also very late which he said was due to a language barrier b/t him and the kitchen. Lastly we were late to the show. We had an hour and 45 minutes allotted to eat and we were late. I'd expect a place across from The Fox and a waiter aware of the show we were seeing to be very deliberate in getting us out early or at least on time. I am very disappointed with this experience. We made light of the awful dining experience in an effort to maintain a great night. Thankfully the concert we saw was amazing... Even though we missed the first song.

After taking a tour of the Fox Theater, my friends and I had a leisurely lunch at Livingston. Our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful, steering us successfully to the best lunch options for our group. The food was delicious, and we were able to easily enjoy our lunch and conversation. The restaurant validated our valet parking, which was an added bonus.

I made a reservations by e mail back in September for October 29th at 5:30pm and was sent a conformation. They sent a reminder on the day before which I responded to and also called me in the morning and I also called back, spoke to the person at Livingstons that answered and again confirmed my reservation. I got there at 5:25 and they could not find the reservation - not the hostess or the manager. We did get a table since the place was near empty but were forced to accept a table in the casual area rather than the nicer area upstairs. The screwed up what was scheduled as a special night we were attending a play at the fox across the street. They found the reservation about half way thru the meal but to late to make a table change.

Livingston Restaurant is so convenient to the Fox Theater. We enjoyed dining before going to the performance of Phantom of the Opera. We were concerned that we might be late for the show if the service was slow. The service was great. Eduardo paid special attention to our table and made sure we were served in a timely manner. Great food, too.

We made reservations at Livingston's due to its close proximity to the Fox. The food was uninspired. The fried oyster appetizer was not good. I had the scallops for dinner. The scallops were good, but there was way too much sauce for so few scallops.

We were expecting to eat from their menu, but since there was a showing at Fox, Livingston was only serving buffet till 2:30pm. This info was not on their website. The food was stale. Our waiter left while my fiance & I ate. He never told us he was leaving, nor did he arrange for another waiter to help. I tried asking one of the bust boys, but was ignored. I eventually had to grab a hostess, so I could get a check. Ironically, she forced the same bust boy to give us our check. The hostess also told us they validate parking, but that info wasn't listed on their website. Plus, I had to pay $20 to park in their garage because of the Fox showing. The buffet is overpriced. It was +$40 for two people. We will NOT have our wedding party here.

The brunch menu is really weak. Prepackaged, over cooked scrambled eggs, uninspired bacon, etc. No carving station, no omelet station, no ability to get an egg to order - for this price, you expect something with more variety and more quality/care of preparation than you would get at Shoney's Breakfast Bar - but that is what this is. Even our waiter was embarrassed by what he had to offer. REALLY - don't do this.

If you serve brunch starting at 11, then have it ready on the buffet. Lunch is only chicken and collard greens, so that's not really lunch. Tried to go to the buffet and was turned away b/c it was not "ready" yet. Waited 20 minutes after seating to be served our beverages. Every time we go, we find the food is a little colder and the service is a little more lacking. We will be back before the Sunday matinee again, but please step up the food and the service!

Perfect spot for romantic dinner or simple social dinning outside. Honestly the view of the Fox Theater never gets old - timeless.

How can a lovely place like the Georgian Terrace continue to have such a restaurant ? We have been going there for years just because it is across the street from the Fox and convenient for dinner before the theater. Over the years, they have changed menus, changed chefs, and still it is just about the worst possible dining experience in Atlanta.

The building is beautiful, and the décor is gorgeous. The food was just so-so, nothing special. I would expect more for $25-30/entrée. Service was okay. No one ever came to see if everything was all right with our meals. At one point, I dropped a knife and one of the servers (not ours) was immediately at hand to bring a new one. Food came out quickly, and the location is great if you have tickets to the Fox, but I wouldn't go here again.

I have always enjoyed The Livingston, but haven't been there in a couple of years. It has changed. We had to wait to be seated even though we had a reservation and there were many open tables. The server was aloof and borderline unfriendly. It took a long time to get the food. It took a very long time to get dessert, even though I had told the server that we had to leave by a certain time in order to get to the Fox. She seemed unconcerned. The food was excellent. It was very loud in the room and hard to talk over. If I go back it will only be because it is convenient to the Fox.

The last impression was the twinkie cakes which were amazeballs for dessert!! LOL! But honestly the staff, food (lamb), and wine selections were outstanding! Our waitress was so funny and assisted with selecting wine from their large selection. I also enjoyed eating outside and people watching outside the Fox. The only downside was the homeless coming up on property and hasseling guest. And it's frequent. I suggest a gate to block off access or something.

The food was delicious and well presented. Service was reasonably good, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, on the Monday evening we were there, the restaurant was nearly empty. We also had to move to a different table because the first one was under an air vent that was very cold and breezy. Overall, we thought it was worth another try -- perhaps on a weekend night.

I loved the food and the atmosphere. I came here for a lunch meeting and it was PERFECT for that. Unfortunately we stood around waiting to be seated (restaurant was nearly empty and we had a reservation) before a bartender came and helped us. Our server got us drinks quickly but 25 minutes later had not come back for our food order so we had to hunt them down. There was maybe one other table and we kept having to get up and ask for service. I would definitely take someone back here when I schedule lunch meetings as long as the same service problems did not happen again.

Went in the early evening to celebrate signing a new apartment lease. Complimentary valet parking was a nice bonus. We got the duck and the roast, and both were delicious. Barrel-aged Manhattan was very good, although I was hoping to get a negroni. My partner got the pirate juice cocktail (can't remember the real name) and the flavors were very interesting- ginger and black pepper! The price was also surprisingly reasonable: about $40 per person, including drinks. There was some sort of convention in the next room, which was a little noisy. I would recommend it for a special occasion!

I've long called Livingston my favorite Atlanta restaurant...it's gorgeous, it's historic, the food is amazing, the service very good, and it has a great location! Most recently we went for their "Gone With the Wind" Brunch, immediately prior to a screening of the movie across the street at The Fox Theatre (wonderfully convenient!). The food, especially for a buffet, was beyond palate-pleasing. Favorites: sausages, grits, pastries, and the fruit was super fresh! Good coffee and the mimosas were great! Busier than usual, the service was still great. Attentive to the end. For the special occasion, the Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum had five costumes, and other items, on display for diners to enjoy. I'll be back soon!

I thought this would be a nice and romantic birthday dinner for my fiance. We waited to be seated for quite some time because the hostess was not at the front. We were seated in a corner with not much of a view of the place. We started with the fried green tomatoes and popcorn cauliflower. They were okay, but we've had better. The sauces were the best part of the dishes. For the main course I ordered the scallops and subbed the chowder for blue cheese grits. The scallops had beautiful color, but were on the salty side. I didn't care for the Brussels sprouts at all and the grits were bland. The birthday boy ordered the London broil and seemed satisfied. I put in the reservation we were celebrating a birthday and it was not acknowledged.

With it's storied history, beautiful architecture, ambiance, and a location directly across the street from the Fox Theater, the Livingston is an ideal choice for a pre-show meal. My family has dined at the Livingston on two occasions for precisely this reason and found it a good enough experience. The food, while tasty, is not especially exciting and the menu can be described as limited at best. For the price of a three course meal though, I can't complain about the food too much. The service has left me unimpressed on both visits. The poor wait staff seems overburdened and the timing slow. Allow at least 1.5 hours to get through your meal before a show and do consider heading elsewhere for dessert to avoid disappointment.
