The food was delicious and well presented. Service was reasonably good, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, on the Monday evening we were there, the restaurant was nearly empty. We also had to move to a different table because the first one was under an air vent that was very cold and breezy. Overall, we thought it was worth another try -- perhaps on a weekend night.

I loved the food and the atmosphere. I came here for a lunch meeting and it was PERFECT for that. Unfortunately we stood around waiting to be seated (restaurant was nearly empty and we had a reservation) before a bartender came and helped us. Our server got us drinks quickly but 25 minutes later had not come back for our food order so we had to hunt them down. There was maybe one other table and we kept having to get up and ask for service. I would definitely take someone back here when I schedule lunch meetings as long as the same service problems did not happen again.

Went in the early evening to celebrate signing a new apartment lease. Complimentary valet parking was a nice bonus. We got the duck and the roast, and both were delicious. Barrel-aged Manhattan was very good, although I was hoping to get a negroni. My partner got the pirate juice cocktail (can't remember the real name) and the flavors were very interesting- ginger and black pepper! The price was also surprisingly reasonable: about $40 per person, including drinks. There was some sort of convention in the next room, which was a little noisy. I would recommend it for a special occasion!

I've long called Livingston my favorite Atlanta restaurant...it's gorgeous, it's historic, the food is amazing, the service very good, and it has a great location! Most recently we went for their "Gone With the Wind" Brunch, immediately prior to a screening of the movie across the street at The Fox Theatre (wonderfully convenient!). The food, especially for a buffet, was beyond palate-pleasing. Favorites: sausages, grits, pastries, and the fruit was super fresh! Good coffee and the mimosas were great! Busier than usual, the service was still great. Attentive to the end. For the special occasion, the Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum had five costumes, and other items, on display for diners to enjoy. I'll be back soon!

I thought this would be a nice and romantic birthday dinner for my fiance. We waited to be seated for quite some time because the hostess was not at the front. We were seated in a corner with not much of a view of the place. We started with the fried green tomatoes and popcorn cauliflower. They were okay, but we've had better. The sauces were the best part of the dishes. For the main course I ordered the scallops and subbed the chowder for blue cheese grits. The scallops had beautiful color, but were on the salty side. I didn't care for the Brussels sprouts at all and the grits were bland. The birthday boy ordered the London broil and seemed satisfied. I put in the reservation we were celebrating a birthday and it was not acknowledged.

My friends and I were very happy with both the food and Timothy our server. This was the first time my friends were patrons of the restaurant. My son and his wife, my husband and myself had brunch there late January. This was our first time but my son and his wife had a staycation some time in December 2013. We loved the space. Timothy was a server at these two occasions.

With it's storied history, beautiful architecture, ambiance, and a location directly across the street from the Fox Theater, the Livingston is an ideal choice for a pre-show meal. My family has dined at the Livingston on two occasions for precisely this reason and found it a good enough experience. The food, while tasty, is not especially exciting and the menu can be described as limited at best. For the price of a three course meal though, I can't complain about the food too much. The service has left me unimpressed on both visits. The poor wait staff seems overburdened and the timing slow. Allow at least 1.5 hours to get through your meal before a show and do consider heading elsewhere for dessert to avoid disappointment.

We were expecting an upscale eloquent experience. Looking at the décor that is what you should get. First thing we noticed no white table cloths. In fact no table cloth at all. The staff wore an assortment of clothing styles but mostly blue jeans. Really? We had to wait to place our order. But then suddenly the food appeared all at once. Just like McDonalds. The presentation was really good the food looked great on the plate. It was also quite tasty as well. There just was not much of it. Do not come here hungry as you will certainly leave that way. At $80 for 2 the meal was over priced for what you get. I think most people will be happy eating here as this is what the dining experience has become at most places.

We went here before Evita at The Fox. Our reservation was early enough to give us plenty of time so our meal was relaxed in the beautiful opulence of this hotel. The meal was a wonderful blending of favors with healthy unusual ingredients. The duck was excellent and the cauliflower popcorn is a must experience I would repeat. A light dessert of favorful sorbets was the perfect finish to our meal.

Their weekend brunch before shows at the Fox is really good. The couple of times we've been there, the buffet has consisted of scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, french toast, shrimp & grits, fried chicken, collard greens, a mixed green salad, and another salad that contains fruits. They also have a nice selection of desert items. The food is maintained at a high quality by the attentive staff and does not get dried out or overcooked. Upon first glimpse, I was wishing that they had more lunch fair, than breakfast, but that thought dwindles as I fill my plate with the breakfast food. They also make a decent bloody mary.

I wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday with a lovely dinner before seeing a show at the Fox. When the Livingston called to confirm my reservation, they suggested seating in the mezzanaine looking out onto the Fox. It was perfect, and actually very quiet up there. The meal was superb; we shared an order of mussels, cooked in a delicious broth, perfect for soaking up into bread. I had the crispy duck--moist and tender; my wife had the scallops...also perfectly cooked. Great wine. And the best Manhattan I've had here in Atlanta. Great dining experience, followed by a walk across the street to a great show. Perfect.

Fortunately, we printed out a confirmation of our reservation, because when we got to the restaurant, they had NO RECORD of our reservation! They said "they had to seat us" so put us at the end of a table for 12. (There were only 2 in our party.) We asked to be seated outside, which they "allowed". We didn't get menus, or drink orders since we were "unexpected". So, if reserving through OpenTable - PRINT OUT YOUR RESERVATION and take it with you!

We had dinner here on a Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. and the restaurant was empty. It was so uncomfortable, we asked to be moved outside by the street. I assume this restaurant is only hopping when the FOX is up and running. Having said that, the food was excellent and needless to say, the service was great. We tried to get a reservation on Friday, but they were booked so I don't quite understand their policy on reservations; we didn't see any FOX activity scheduled for that night. It's not cheap. Perhaps, its patrons are mostly tourists visiting the city and the FOX.

This is such an easy place to eat if you are staying at the Georgian Terrace Hotel. Nice dining room and the bar is connected but separated by glass so that the noise is low in the bar area. Great decor, drinks, wines and food is good, not great but for a hotel it is affordable and service is excellent. There is a nice terrace out front where you can have drinks and dinner and people watch. Good place to go if you want to see a show at the Fox theater and have dinner or drinks before or dessert after the show.

They had food stations set up for Mothers Day. Honestly for $38 a piece I expected more meat and side choices but the food there was good. My wife loved the desserts and the atmosphere was amazing. I was just hoping for a little bit better food for the money. I'm sure the brunch is great. A lot of the food choices would be perfect for that like French toast, bacon, grits etc. We went there for dinner and that is why I wish they had more options catered to that meal. Don't get me wrong, nice place, I just left unsatisfied for the price.

We went for dinner on Mother's Day (buffet to 7 pm). Food selection was OK, but not spectacular. Lots of staff, but they were not particularly attentive. A few wore scowls, although some were friendly. Bar could not make a Kir as they lacked creme de cassis. We asked to sit outside, which seemed to throw them for a bit of a loop. The restaurant automatically added 18% gratuity to the bill. I understand that many restaurants do this for larger groups but: 1. This was not appropriate for a family of 5, and 2. An 18 % tip is wrong when the food is served from a buffet. All the wait staff did was bring us water and a few drinks. I took a star off for this. Also, valet forgot to get our car after being given the ticket when we left. Training?

First off, I must say that the restaurant and hotel are beautiful. You really can't ask for a more elegant atmosphere to enjoy a meal. With the brunch being a buffet, you would assume the drink service would be quick/ timely. This was not the case at all. It took 10 minutes for a server to come to our table to take our order for drinks, and another 15 minutes for our first coffee to arrive. We were at the restaurant for over an hour, and never got a refill of coffee. Many of the staff members of the restaurant seemed to be just standing around, with no sense of urgency. I commented to the reception about this, and I think she said there were some staff absentees that day. Still, with idle staff, why the slow service?
