liv2eatWe had a very pleasant mother'sWe had a very pleasant mother's day experience - even with a 5 year old and a 2 year old, they even had kid friendly drink cups, and the dessert section was a smashing success.
There was a wire in my salad -which was off-putting - but they immediate addressed this and apologized.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely hitting its strideLiv2Eat has been open a good while now. The early learning experiences are in their past and now every meal can be depended on to be excellent. The Chef clearly understands his ingredients and his Italian leanings are delivered to the food on the plate. It's great that the menu isn't too big, but it changes enough to be your regular go-to neighborhood place as well as that special "take visitors out to impress them" place. Bravo.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food-Wine List Just OKBeware of making your reservation through Open Table. It first showed availability, and then everything after 5:30PM disappeared. I had to log-off and log back in again to complete the reservation. Liv2Eat has a farm to table concept with an upscale but comfortable vibe. The menu is limited, but decent variety & price points. We shared the tomato soup w/ piquillo peppers w/ mini grilled cheese on the side – yummy! The 8oz flank steak was prepared well with a nice flavor. The fresh baked cookies and milk were soft and tasty. The beer list is really good and diverse; the wine list not so much. As expected, the wine list was overpriced. In addition, there were very few options that paired with the menu. The wine list needs improvement.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Liv2Eat!Once again a splendid dinner and service at liv2eat. We will be back!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMfood and service was excellentfood and service was excellent but the menu was pretty limited for vegetarian options - not a big menu in general but very unique and tasty. I would definitely go back. It had a really cute charm about it too.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were very happy with ourWe were very happy with our meal. Amy, our server, was very nice. Offered a "taste" of a Woodchuck Belgian white. Our meals were yummy. The falafel was hard and dense, but still flavorful. The owner was exceptionally friendly. I would definitely return. It's only been open since Nov. 2012. Absolutely worth trying.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food, great ambianceThe food was excellent. The salads are amazing and so unique. I would never have imagined I would love a pea salad - it is so good. They also have the only private patio we have seen in Baltimore.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMEveryone was nice and accommodatingEveryone was nice and accommodating. It was more romantic than expected. If it's a nice day, I'd recommend eating on the back garden area. Food was really good and the made to order chocolate chip cookies were amazing! Only complaint would be that our special requests for sauce and cheese on the side did not happen. Will certainly return.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPork chop was the best I havePork chop was the best I have ever had. Service was attentive and prompt, only I wish they woundn't call sixty year olds "guys". We both really enjoyed the wines by the glass. Nice to have a Federal Hill restaurant where you can actually hear your dining partner's conversation without shouting.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat patio! Mussels hadGreat patio! Mussels had excellent classic flavor but were overcooked. The asparagus salad was well-conceived and well-executed with a nice textural balance.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food, service wasVery good food, service was a little slow but very pleasant. The place is intimate, and nicely decorated, the valet was prompt, but should be free. Get the stuffies (really amazing take on clams casino). Cookies were excellent, they give you a whole bunch of them. Coffee was impeccable (ceremony out of annapolis).4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Find in Federal Hill !What a pleasant surprise! The food was wonderful. Six of us dined on a Saturday night. Three at the table ordered the salmon, one Amish chicken and the other two, Shrimp and Grits. We also ordered sugar snap peas (highly recommend) and potatoes as sides plus soups . The vegetables were fresh and lightly seasoned. Portions were very generous and even large enough to split. Nice selection of beer and wine...they do not have a liquor license (didn't matter to our group, though). We will definitely be back!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat giftThis was a gift from a "foodie" friend. We enjoyed it all. The beautiful and tasty food, even the burgers and fries! The lemon sabayon with blackberries and shortbread was perfect!
We will definitely return!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSat outside in the garden.Sat outside in the garden. Didn't feel like you were sitting in a restaurant on light street. Grat food and service.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA few kinks to work out, but good!Liv2eat is a new restaurant in Baltimore. The servers seemed a little confused, but the place was busy. The menu is limited, but the pea salad, asparagus salad, scallop appetizer, and pasta entree that we ordered were all very good. The salads are a little pricey, but the ingredients used in making each were gourmet: figs, cashews, asparagus, peas, hazelnuts, etc. Also, at least 3 wines were not available from the restaurant's short wine list.
I will definitely be back for a second dinner one night soon!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is very good. LimitedFood is very good. Limited wine list. Does not have a liquor license-only beer and wine.
Our server, Angel was excellent.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPlace is cute and the foodPlace is cute and the food was very good. I loved the risotto balls and the mussels, and my friend was a fan of the crabcake sandwich!
Server was good, but he talked softly and we sometimes had a hard time hearing him. Only other thing to note is that the tables are pretty small - to the point that I ordered two appetizers as my meal, to be brought together and one was brought out4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great. Stuffies appetizersFood was great. Stuffies appetizers were large enough to share. Will be going back for more as they rotate their menu. Staff was nice but their was a little disorganization considering it wasn't busy. But overall food was definitely good enough to get me back again.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dinner with terrificWonderful dinner with terrific service. Valet parking service was available and necessary, very little parking on the street.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWish It Were in My NeighborhoodHad a terrific dinner on a Saturday night at the peak dining time without a hitch. Our server was efficient and there when needed and food came out as it should have despite the place's small size and large crowd.
Every dish was well prepared, from a menu that appears not overly ambitious in its scope but offers some real gems. The lamb was excellent as was the spring vegetable medley which accompanied it and our other main course. Even the wine list was approachable and affordable, offering a variety of options to match the restaurant's excellent food.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent first trip toAn excellent first trip to liv2eat! The food couldn't have been better. Our server Rachel was very attentive but never intrusive. If on the menu when you go, don't miss the mussels in a white wine and garlic butter sauce. There is a secret ingredient in the sauce that makes them irresistible. We will definitely return!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGo here!Great food, service, & atmosphere! All around great.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMeverything was great. Theeverything was great. The reviews I read from previous patrons was spot on. I will recommend this to my friends.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMi enjoyed my entire experiencei enjoyed my entire experience and the food was great3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe welcome you receive fromThe welcome you receive from the owner is warm and inviting. The menu is small but the food is delicious. Only complaint is thye are too nice a restaurant to keep the TV on over the bar while serving dinner!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench bread we were givenFrench bread we were given to start was amazing. Clear and concise menu with a lot of interesting choices. They have done a great job thus far and I hope they continue to succeed. Looks like a large outdoor patio will be available for seating once the weather warms up. Really enjoyed our meal.2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA great find! Immaculate serviceA great find! Immaculate service and welcoming surroundings. Relatively small menu but all items we had were delicious, made in-house and prepared with care and flavor, not something to be taken for granted when going out. All the positive things I had read about before going, actually happened to us as well, great job. This will be a repeat destination I am sure.12/28/2012 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend and I thoroughlyMy boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Liv2Eat. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. When booking ahead of time I sent a note through OpenTable and all my requests were accommodated. The food was delicious. We loved that the menu was small and focused. It was easy to make a decision on what to order. (especially for me being an indecisive person) My boyfriend ironically went to the same culinary school as the chef and it was easy to see the skill gained in college. The ambiance was great, minimal and not overpowering. I loved the window into the garden. Very peaceful.
We will absolutely return to your establishment and bring friends. Thanks for having us and making us feel welcome!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious GemBeautiful Gem in Federal Hill. Food was 5 Star. Loved the large window that looked over the garden area. Although food choices were limited there was a variety for anyone. We shared the scallops and the beet side...scallop dish was perfection. My entree was the salmon and my friend had the house noodle dish....both were perfect!3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went on a Tuesday eveningWe went on a Tuesday evening at 6:00 so it was a little quiet there. Three of us ordered different entries and everything was delicious. I ordered the steak which was wonderful, however, when I saw my husband's meal I took his instead. I knew he would enjoy the steak also. The salads were wonderful as well as the appetizer my husband ordered. Very reasonably priced, however, I was the only one drinking that evening. We would definitely return.2/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
