Diner Reviews
  • "Our first visit to Little Red Wasp was with out of town company. Service was excellent, although the noise level made hearing a little difficult. Mimosas were a cut above the usual, not too sweet. We enjoyed a bottle of Merry Edwards pinot noir with our meal, at a reasonable price for a restaurant wine list. I had the Short Ribs Benedict, which was a nice combination of tenderness and interesting flavors. We will continue to prefer Grace for dinner, but will be back to Little Red Wasp for brunch"

  • "What a great find this was and incredibly reasonably priced. Truly the best hamburger I have had in a very long time - whatever that sauce is it makes the burger! We will be back!"

  • "I brought out-of-town visitors to Little Red Wasp for brunch. The mimosas were superb. Those who ordered the granola found it a bit of a challenge to chew and left half uneaten. One would have preferred that the slaw on his sandwich be on the side -- and without jalapeño peppers. My hash and eggs could have benefitted from having the potatoes mushed in with the hash in a more traditional base for the eggs. It was good but wasn't what I expected. Still, the food was great and the service was excellent."

  • "My wife and I had dinner here last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We arrived prior to the end of Happy Hour and reaped the benefits of it via two specialty drinks. Our food was excellent and fairly priced, but the service was even better. Bradley was very professional and engaging. We could not help but notice the staff's attentiveness to our water and other items. I also commented on the manager's communication with the servers and kitchen staff. The staff seemed to be very in tune with each other while maintaining the continuity necessary to run a restaurant successfully. We will be back soon and encourage our friends to visit this great little gem in downtown Fort Worth."

  • "Food was ok, nothing special. The menu was more "lunchy" than that of a dinner menu. Was hoping for a little more ambiance, but it was a Sunday evening. One highlight, the chef accommodated one of our guests who had a food allergy. In from out of town... next time, we will go to Grace."

  • "We were so pleased that we found this little restaurant while traveling in TX. A welcome relief from steaks and BBQ. Good variety of options with more flavorful, healthy choices which especially made Mom happy!"

  • "The food is great. The portions are ridiculously large; thus, I recommend sharing. The drinks are creative and tasty."

  • "Rare date night for the husband and I and dining at Little Red Wasp provided us with great food, a relaxing ambiance and great service. We will be back."

  • "Had a leisurely paced happy hour, followed by dinner, and a complimentary desert for our Birthdaywomam! Our server, Samantha was outstanding; the appetizers and knife and fork sandwiches were delicious and generously portioned. We will be back!"

  • "This was my first visit to this restaurant. I had heard that their brunch was good and it did not disappoint. The hash and burger that we got were both excellent and the portions were ample. The service was also quite good. I will definitely return to this restaurant."

  • "Overall nice wait staff was friendly, drinks good food good, down side place was cold almost too cold to enjoy the food also the atmosphere was a bit sterile no pictures on the wall almost warehouse looking. Need to warm the place make more cozy"

  • "Great food in a casual, but upscale setting. I dine here and at its nearby sister restaurant, Grace, frequently and recommend both highly."

  • "Great beer selection and food was good, but not as good as I expected. Squash was a little bland and my mashed potatoes were cold. The fish was good though. Probably would not go back, but not bad.."

  • "A return trip. This time for Mother's Day Brunch. Despite being busy the service was great and the food fantastic as always. Chicken Biscuit was well balanced and the French Toast (my wife's favorite) never fails to please. Another good experience. "

  • "First and foremost, the name of the restaurant caught my attention first. It had a nice atmosphere for my third date w a fantastic man. Although, there isn't a huge selection for vegetarians, I found a few things I could eat. The staff was friendly and personable. I had to change my reservations 4 times and they were never rude, aggressive or crass. Oh and I love that they're open late. Yum. Enjoyed the meal and the location. "

  • "Uncomfortable chairs. The server did not know anything about the wines on their list or how food items were prepared. We ordered an appetizer that came out with the entrees. At the end of the night, we couldn't find our car we had valeted with them, after an hour they finally figured out the valet took our car keys home with him. Won't be going back. Food ok, not great, sparse menu. Better dining options around downtown. "

  • "Arctic Char was exceptional. Butter sauce over expertly done filet. Squash was over cooked and lacked flavor. Potatoes were good but not exceptional. Salad was very nice with just right proportions and dressing. Service was prompt and attentive. Decor modern industrial and done well. Might be a bit dark for later dining. Pricing within normal expectations for down town Ft Worth. Will return in future. "

  • "Took my wife and daughter and an out of town friend to Little Res Wasp on Friday night. It was our first time definitely will not be our last! We sat outside on the patio. Some places put you outside and seem to forget about you, but the service at LRW was excellent! Our waiter was prompt and very helpful when my wife asked for suggestions. He treated our 6 year old daughter like she was the most important person in the restaurant. The food was fantastic - upscale comfort food. The short rib was fork tender and delicious. We tried the Deviled Eggs as an appetizer along with the chips and pimiento dip. Both were unique takes on traditional dishes - very well done. This is a great alternative to the pricier dining choices in the area."

  • "Wonderful evening of dining and fun Friday night. We requested a patio table with our reservation on Open Table and even with all of the additional downtown traffic due to an Arts Festival, the table was ready and waiting upon our arrival. Our cocktails and a "must have" homemade "Chips and Dip #2" appetizer arrived seemingly immediately. Our server, Dustin, explained the menu well, kept our glasses filled and efficiently handled the meal including the check at night's end. The food was very high quality and the Steak Frites proved a great value for our steak lover. The combination of near perfect weather, the excitement of the Art Festival and a great dining experience made for a fun night out. We look forward to returning."

  • "Adam & Jason gave brought Grace Bar vibe to LRW. Food choices are solid but not enough variety. Meat and potatoes rule a menu devoid of lighter options. My wife had the perfectly portioned steak frites while I chose the non-standard Reuban. Their sandwiches are appropriately called Knife & Fork aka huge. Great slaw, shaved corned beef, bread and dressing. Nice selections of beer and wine that pair nicely with menu. Gimme some grilled fish and non-beef choices ... and a skider dish or two. Can't wait ti return!"

  • "Looking for something other then expensive steakhouse, so chose here. Had a reservation, but restaurant was pretty empty except for the bar and the hostess wanted to seat us right next to the bar area. We asked to go to a quieter area. Thought the menu was very limited and even though we both chose something recommended by waiter, we were disappointed in the food. Our waiter did a good job though. Still looking for something else."

  • "The entire experience was pretty good. Drinks and food were great. The valet was unhappy when I dropped off my car, maybe due to the rain. The server was a bit annoyed to be at work also. He was very slow to serve and I noticed him watching TV as he was bringing us water. The restaurant was not busy when we were there, but it seemed like forever to place an order or get a drink. By the end, he seemed less annoyed. I will go back, as the food is delicious and the drink list is interesting."

  • "Had a lovely waitress, and all the servers were very helpful. However the food was not good for what we paid. My friend and I both bought the shrimp, 22 dollars, and it only came with 4 shrimp and over done french fries."

  • "This place was recommended to me by the hotel bartender when I asked for a reasonably casual atmosphere with good food. The LRW delivered on all fronts. Great ambiance and even better service! The food came out quickly and was generally very good. I wish the wine list had had more to offer me by the glass, but the beer selection was good."

  • "A friend and I went to try out the Little Red Wasp. Our service and food were exceptional, and it was a great place to just sit and talk and share a dessert, which was also fabulous. The $5 valet parking is perfect since it's on Main Street downtown and there isn't much of anywhere to park unless you want to walk. Overall, a great experience."

  • "would return. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. They have a very good bourbon and whiskey selection as well. It was packed when we arrived but we were seated right away for our reservation (Saturday night). Booths are better for tall folks as the the seats are deep and low. The slaw was great and so was the Reuben. Everything was piping hot when it came out despite them being very busy."

  • "Service from greeting by host through dinner was all wonderful. Food was very good, but limited menu and disappointing presentation. Each meal would have benefited with additional vegetables on the plate. Prices were high for what was offered."

  • "Our first visit to the Little Red Wasp. The ambiance is smart, casual, and comfortable, reflecting a well-planned concept and care for detail. The Reuben sandwich was served on light rye that stood up to the generous filling. The egg salad sandwich served on a soft bun with a side of the best chips ever---house made and hot out of the fryer. The cocktails were well conceived. Service was prompt and attentive, with the server splitting our sandwiches in the kitchen without being asked.. We tried the donut holes, also fresh and hot, and served with a small pitcher of thick chocolate dipping sauce. In all, we will return here to enjoy the excellent food and downtown vibe without breaking the bank."

  • "This was my 6th trip to LRW, and they consistently meet or exceed expectations. Food quality excellent, craft beer selection outstanding, service attentive but unobtrusive. Lively ambiance but also relaxing. Open till midnight weekends. Will definitely be back."

  • "The burger was over cooked. The waiter forgot to put my appetizer order in, as well as changing waiters every 5 minutes this was annoying as well. The food was too overpriced for how low quality it was. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. I didn't leave a tip with my meal either."

  • "Felt to be missed opportunities to have good food be great food. Tomato basil soup was lacking in salt and basil. Was more like canned tomato soup. House salad was standard. Fried shrimp w fries was good. Fries are OUTSTANDING. Short rib was good, but not great. Donut holes OUTSTANDING minus the flavorless chocolate sauce. Each flavor profile was standard. Chef has opportunity to kick it up. Foodies will find it standard today. Great location and great potential to be stellar if the dishes are looked at with a critical eye. Would go back, but only by invite of friends or meeting others there. Probably not on our own."
