Little India on South Downing is a
place to get solid, straight-up Indian dishes. The menu is extensive and the dishes are very tasty. Service was good and there are both, Indoor and Outdoor tables. If you like good Indian for the whole family, this is the right place. So far, this is our favorite Indian restaurant in Denver."

Iv'e eaten here many times over
the years and what always brings me back is the AMAZING richness of their Chicken Tikka Masala. One would think that this was slow cooked overnight to achieve such a rich flavor. Its has always been very consistent but judging from our latest visit, something has changed and its not for the better. I was so disappointed and it made me immediately question if the Chef still worked there or not, or perhaps did the owners sell out. It was not only the Chicken Tikka Masala that was bad; runny and flavorless, their signature drinks were bad too. Like maybe they substituted cheaper ingredients or something. I did not recognize any of the wait staff either. This is not a recipe for success. Sad…."

Their curries are very rich and
flavorful. We cook Indian at home but can't get close to their tender richness. Its obvious they slow cook everything for hours. Their chicken and lamb melts in your mouth! The only issue I have is I tend o over- eat when I visit this place, it's really that good! I wold vote it the best of the best hands down."
Dined on 4/25/2014
But I think you were just busy
that night and the waitress was new. She opened the wine before she brought it to the table and didn't have anyone taste it. And then she put the bill in front the woman on the table!!! I think she was new? Food is GREAT. "

The four of us loved this
restaurant and plan to go back. We rated everything 5 out of 5 except for Ambience, because they had someone playing an instrument that was way, way too loud. We had a hard time hearing each other."

After the excitement of Christmas
was over, we went to Little India for dinner. The food was spicy and warm and delicious. The service was great, and it was an overall terrific experience."
Dined on 12/25/2013
Have been to Little India several
times. Food is consistently good coupled with attentive, polite service. Food would be 5 stars if the spices were more robust."
Dined on 12/21/2013
Cute little place with wonderful
Indian food! Service was pleasant but a little confused, soup came after the entrée. Not much parking and the patio (full of diners) door was open blowing cold air into the dining room, but overall we will definitely go back!"
Dined on 12/13/2013
Love love love this particular
Little India restaurant compared to others. So much more calm and relaxing. Great service. Love the little bar/nook area. Food is so yummy!"
Dined on 10/23/2013
A perfect place for a delicious
meal without over-the-top prices. Abundant servings with enough to take home too. Our server was helpful with our questions and led us in the right direction. We'll be back for sure!"

My wife does not like Indian food
but she owned me this outting. On balance we both enjoyed our dining experience. This is a neighorhood gem near Porter Hospitial. Comfortable ambiance. The food was well perpared. The service was top notch. WHen we do Indian again we would not hesitate to come here again."

Loved Little India...wish we would
have tried it a long time ago. We love Indian food, but never got around to Little India. We like it the best of all the Indian restaurants we've been to. The service was very personable and accommodating. The food was perfect. We had lamb jalfrazie, chicken tikka saag, samosas, etc. Everything was superb! Will visit again for sure!"
Dined on 8/24/2013
Wonderful selection of appetizers
and entrees. Offerings are focused on authentic savory sauces, but with little meat or seafood. Staff dressed in customary attire and very attentive and knowledgeable of cuisine and culture. Continuous live music on Saturday night to enhance dining experience!"
Dined on 8/3/2013
No secret here, the food at Little
India is just better than the other Indian/Tibetan/Nepali joints around town. Not tons better, but enough better. The all-you-can-eat dinner buffets at the other places re tempting and adequate, and we'll still go to them, but for quality subcontinent cuisine, LI wins. Server was attentive, nice, and a pro, knowing when to step back. Outside patio at the South Downing location in the the shade in the evening--perfect. Consistent quality."

We were very pleased with the food
and the atmospher when we went for dinner at Little India. The server was attentive and the food was very good. The manager proved to be very flexible and generously suggested that the restaurant absorb the cost of an error made by our server. We will return to the restaurant when we return to Denver."
Dined on 7/7/2013
Not returning. It took over an
hour and a half to receive our first course. We order mango lassi waitress comes back 30 minutes later said they ran out, but not even 5 minutes later other waiter brought out as many as 5 and throughout the night other tables had mango lassi. Service was terrible, food poor quality from what it use to be."
Dined on 6/29/2013
We really liked our meal at Little
India. Excellent food, subtle and delicate spices, lovely presentation. Our waiter was incredibly talkative, so much so that our meal got stretched out much longer than we had time for. We don't mind brief conversations with waiters, but this was excessive."
Dined on 6/24/2013
The food at Little India was good.
Although I am pretty certain our appetizer was frozen and then re-heated which is to me unacceptable for a restaurant. The service however was pretty awful. I had to ask two people for appetizer plates that my waiter neglected to bring with the appetizer. The food came out quickly but the server neglected to remove any of the completed dishes from the appetizers, soup, etc. so that there was room for the entrees. He seemed overall very disinterested. The chicken masala and fish vindaloo were very good but the vindaloo could do with less heat. The house chardonnay was great. I'm not sure I'd go back, perhaps for the lunch buffet."
Dined on 6/22/2013
We invited our friends to dinner
using a Living Social deal. The appetizers were delicious! Sorry I don't remember the names. I did have a Kingfisher beer and it was good! Our friends are vegetarian so were the appetizers. The multawnawny soup was better than the lentil. My friend and I had two different lamb dishes. I had the "hot" one, which wasn't too spicy. Just right. We had lots of Naan garlic bread and brown and saffron rice. Everything was delicious. There was live entertainment - an Indian gentleman playig a sitar, whcih added to the ambiance. For dessert, my friend had pistachio ice cream (which I wish I had ordered!) and I had the rice pudding. Park outside the door of the restaurant."

Little India on Downing is my
favorite Indian restaurant in Denver. The food and service are always good. I recommend selecting options off the menu over the buffet. Byron was especially helpful in giving suggestions on what to try in our last visit."
Dined on 3/23/2013
Food is terrific..no complaints
here..we go often."
Dined on 3/23/2013
While the service was terrible,
the food was delicious, and the music complemented the ambience of the restaurant perfectly."
Dined on 3/1/2013
The restaurant was slow, and our
server didn't seem into it. He actually seemed pretty bored. The food came really, really fast, which is good for lunch but not great for lingering over dinner. Also, the server was behind the food runners so we had our food before we had our plates and silverware. We love Little India but their customer service seems to be going downhill."
Dined on 2/15/2013
We went here for Valentine's Day
dinner, w/reservations, it was not too busy. A very nice waitress Gian served us, being both friendly & attentive. Papadaam & chutneys were brought along with our drinks. We ordered the pakora masala (per her recommendation) appetizer and it was so very tasty! Veg pakoras that are doused in masala sauce that makes you want to lick the plate (no, we were civilized and abstained from this temptation). For our dinner we ordered tandoori chicken, vegetable korma, saag paneer (which comes with basmati rice), naan and roti. For desert we chose the kulfi (Indian ice cream). Both mango & pistachio were creamy and a perefect end to the meal. All of the food was very good and service as well. Highly recommend!"

The more I eat here the more I
crave this food. I love this place - always delicious. Order enought for leftovers.....the food is great the next day too."

My husband and I were meeting
another couple downtown and wanted to try something different from our usual italian, mexican or steak, so we decided to try indian food. Never having had indian food before, I googled the menu before we went to the restaurant so that I could review (and look up different kinds of indian foods) in the comfort of my home. Went to the restaurant prepared and was very pleased with the service and the food. We tried the Lamb Korma, the Lamb special (I don't remember the name, but it was off-menu), the Chicken Curry, the Shrimp Vindaloo and three different kinds of Naan. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) was super! Our waitress was awesome, very smiley, very friendly and very quick."

What a fantastic night! Great
food, great ambiance, and we were treated like royalty."
Dined on 1/8/2013
We've eaten at this place a number
of times and always had a good experience."
Dined on 12/30/2012
Simply, Little India is a local
chain that has Indian fare, service, and experience down to a science. Their staff is always prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. The food is among the best Indian food I've food around the country (from So Cal, South Florida...all over), and it's even better when they have live entertainment including a sitar instrumentalist. We love this place!"
Dined on 12/18/2012
Wonderful! Superb food and
service, we were treated like royalty."
Dined on 12/12/2012
The food, as always, was
delicious. But Indian food, maybe more than any other kind, varies according to the chef on duty. In this case the chef was a bit heavy handed with the spices. Fortunately we enjoy the spices, but others who ordered 'moderate' heat, may not have done so. Also, and this concerns only those of us who enjoy lamb, those of us who enjoy lamb are not fooled by mutton. Lamb dishes cooked instead with mutton - even 'young' mutton, suffer horribly in comparison, and your diners can tell the difference. We have eaten at the LI Downing location for years, and will continue to do so, but please spare us the inaccuracy and corner-cutting. Little India is too good for such shenanigans."
Dined on 11/25/2012
Many choices and the food was
excellent. Servings were ample. Service was friendly and prompt. I would and did recommend this restaurant to family and friends."
Dined on 11/24/2012
This is my favorite location of
all the Little India's in Denver. The food is never too greasy and the service is always attentive without being too pushy. I always enjoy trying the different appetizer specials that they have, however for my meal I always go for the saag chole with a said of raita. Yum!"
Dined on 10/6/2012
Delicious authentic Indian
cuisine...among the best I've had in the greater Denver area. Nice atmosphere, but the music was a bit loud and repetitive."
Dined on 8/25/2012
Excellent food, service was
friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward to going back there again!"
Dined on 6/29/2012
Will definitely be going back.
Want to try the all you can eat lunch buffet to get a taste of more that they have to offer. Glad I called ahead for a reservation. Almost didn't considering we were going late on a Wednesday night, but learned a reservation is an advantage for this busy hot spot."
Dined on 6/13/2012
As always, the food was
outstanding. The service for a Sunday evening was extremely slow...and the house wine was of such poor quality we didn't drink it."
Dined on 6/10/2012
Friendly staff,tasty Indian food,
great atmosphere (we ate outside). A definite yes."
Dined on 6/1/2012
I can compliment on one thing...
The naan bread was better than some."
Dined on 4/14/2012
I love Indian and have tried it
all over the country. Little India's Saag paneer is by far the best out there. Delicious!"
