Diner Reviews
  • "Walked into an almost empty restaurant and stood waiting while staff watched football on TV Seated in a corner by the bar under the tv showing football Staff was too busy watching preseason football to be bothered, but food was outstanding as usual"

  • "After being seated, I was a bit concerned as the floor was in need of sweeping, the table next to us was set for diners but looked as if it had not been thoroughly wiped down and the chair with an adjoining table had sticky-looking spots on it. Concerns were swept away, though, when we received our food. Both appetizers and main courses were promptly served, very hot and very delicious. We would come back but I do wish the owners would pay a bit more attention to the appearance of the dining room."

  • "This was our first time to Little India. Food was well prepared and full of flavor. Waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and very quiet as it highlighted the culture of the restaurant and its menu. We enjoyed the recommended appetizer, deep fried avocado with a spicy shrimp sauce. The curry chicken was very traditional with just the right amount of spice. Tandoori chicken was a special treat, moist and full of flavor. Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. We will be back for more!"

  • "I've been to three Little India restaurants in the Denver metro area and while they all have unique decor and ambiance, the food is consistently fantastic. I would rate this location as the lowest I've visited for service and ambiance, but the food was just as good as all other Little India's I've dined at."

  • "Little India is a great place to go for saag and vindaloo and other types of Indian food. The special appetizer when we dined there recently-- fried avocado -- was a unique experience. The food was spicy hot but we like it that way. I'm sure there are milder alternatives for wimps."

  • "My order of naan was crisp on the outside and doughy and uncooked on the inside. I would appreciate your attention, because wheat free and dairy free food is what my wife can eat. We would like to come back."

  • "I read that this restaurant gets great reviews for its lunch. I went on a recent business trip and was underwhelmed. I thought that the buffet table needed work--several dishes were empty, it appeared sloppy, and was not visually alluring. The restaurant itself also appears a bit worn. This place might be a good choice for someone on a very low budget who wants inexpensive food. It is decent tasting, although I have had much better. "

  • "Celebrating 32 years of marriage at Little India was a treat we'll never forget. Fabulous food, friendly waiter, and our waiter had a fun sense of humor. Truly a night to remember!"

  • "My wife and I enjoyed our dinner. We have been to the other Little India locations, but this was our first time at the Champa Street location. Very convenient to the DCPA which is why we chose it. The food and service was excellent. My only caution to diners is not the restaurant's fault, but rather the activity on Champa Street. As long as you don't sit by the window, you can count on a nice experience. Champa Street is still "developing" and it leaves much to be desired. There must be no public restrooms in the area (hopefully you catch my meaning, here)."

  • "The food was mucky at best - it was not hot when it arrived and it took a long time - the restaurant was half empty so not sure what was going on. Not going there again that's for sure!"

  • "We have really come to enjoy this downtown location for all aspects of an evening out. Polite and attentive service, nice ambience, and excellent food consistently combine to foster a positive experience."

  • "The food here is incredible and authentic. Their menu offered a nice variety- great for people who know their Indian food or if you're new to the food. The only problem is that I ate too much so leftovers weren't an option. :) Their drinks were generous and offered a great variety. Loved the live sitar music."

  • "Lamb saag and shrimp vindaloo were outstanding. Service was attentive. Sitar player on the floor was a nice touch. Enjoyed a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner. A nice Indian experience, reasonably priced."

  • "Sauces/condiments were very good although I preferred mint chutney at other restaurants that I've eaten at much more. Tamarind Chutney was very good. They offered a really good deal on a 3 course dinner for two which we decided not to order which included a bottle of wine which we wouldn't have drank. I am surprised that the main dinner items don't come with a soup choice. It was not a big deal, I guess I'm just used to it at other places. Main dish was very good, Shrimp Vindaloo and Chicken Tikka were outstanding. I didn't really like being seated right next to another couple. Impossible to not overhear their conversation. Excellent service. Arrived early, seated right away. I will look forward to eating here again when in Denver."

  • "They didn't have a table for us as requested. Our neighbors were loud. The service was very slow. Overall not as good as I hoped but if you have time to kill and I mean plenty of it go here. If not don't bother."

  • "We recently met friends for a casual and enjoyable evening of dining at Little India Downtown. We expected the food to be very good and it was. Little Inda at the South Downing location is one of our favorites and has more ambience, but this downtown location is an excellent choice for the savory smells and tastes of Indian food in Central Denver."

  • "We have really enjoyed Little India in other parts of Denver (both near Belmar and most often on 6th Ave), but the downtown location nearest our home has never held the same quality regarding food, service, atmosphere, or just overall experience for us to enjoy a night out. Plans changed late for New Years Eve so we decided to try it again since a table was open, and everyone was impressed. The meal was excellent and the restaurant ran smoothly despite such a crowded event downtown, so this location is definitely back on our list for an enjoyable evening."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed this restaurant for dinner on Saturday. It was a very early dinner, so it was pretty empty. We enjoyed being taken care of by the wait staff, they were very attentive. We will consider returning again when we go downtown!"

  • "Tried Little India in downtown Denver based on well-deserved great reviews on the Web. The menu was extensive. My vegan husband found many options among the entrees. I had Ginger Chicken Kabob and loved it -- so richly flavorful and grilled perfectly. Our side dishes also were well-prepared. Also loved the Garlic Naan. Our waitperson was knowledgable, lively and attentive. We booked our last-minute reservation through Open Table. It was a good thing because there was a line at the door. I look forward to another meal at Little India next time I'm in Denver. Highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "The menu is pretty limited but everything we ordered was well made. Portions were a good size, but overpriced given the other options in the area. The service was a little slow. We had to ask four people before someone would bring a glass of water, which is crazy for an Indian restaurant. Overall I probably wouldn't go back, but on the other hand the food wasn't bad so maybe I'd try another location."

  • "We live in sunny California, we discovered this Gem on accident via Open Table. The food was awesome. My husband had Lamb Vindaloo and I had Chicken Tikka Marsala. It was the best, the wine was cold, the waiter very friendly and it was very reasonable."

  • "Nothing special but very good food. Great service. I didn't like how you have to basically sit on top of each other but it wasn't crowded."

  • "The normal Indian fair. Nothing special or unique. Didn't like the water in the metal cups. Tasted metallic. Also, we didn't appreciate the seating of small children at the table next to us. The kids were crawling all over!"

  • "Great India flavor with delicious mango lassis, nann bread and curry dishes. I absolutely loved all of it and I am a seasoned India food lover."

  • "Good quality. Really good, enough to justify the price. Bur the flavors were too subdued. They weren't shy with the capsicum(god bless them), but it had nothing to accentuate. The rice was prepared perfectly. So good I might just eat that next time as the entree. Ooh! Interesting papadam, and notable tamarind chutney."
