A word from Little Goat
Stephanie Izard, James Beard "Best Chef: Great Lakes," and Food & Wine "Best New Chef 2011," opened Little Goat with BOKA Restaurant Group in December 2012. Following the success of Girl & the Goat, Little Goat Diner serves the Izard take on classic diner offerings.

Adjacent you'll find Little Goat Bread, offering pastries, grab 'n' go lunch items and fresh Stumptown coffee throughout the day. Bread is available for purchase daily - perfect for picking up a loaf on the way home to make dinner. You can also purchase merchandise and Stephanie's line of sauces and rubs, The Flavor, at Little Goat Bread.

Located within Little Goat Bread is our bar - where craft beer, wine and cocktails are served.

Reservations reflect only a portion of our available seating and hold a seat in the diner whether at a booth or our skylit communal table. If you can't find a time slot that best suits your request, we invite you to walk in and join us!

Diner Reviews
  • "we took the recommendations of our server, and we had a wonderful meal. we ate goat chili cheese fries. fried chicken and french toast. it is one of the noisiest places ever, if that matters to you"

  • "Little Goat is famous for its amazing food, and it lives up to the hype. I am vegetarian and ordered the Parathas Burrito and it was very flavorful, the appropriate portion of food, and reasonably priced. The rest of the party I was with ordered Grits, Rueben, and Sausage. Every dish was wonderful. The atmosphere is casual, but somehow still posh with a noise level where it was not so quiet that you felt uncomfortable talking, but could hear everyone perfectly. The staff was friendly. There is a reason this place is so built up!"

  • "as usual, the food from Chef Stephanie is always amazing! I highly recommend trying the Blueplate special (no matter what it is, it is sure to be good and completely different from the rest of the menu). but otherwise, things start to get confusing. yes, it's supposed to be an upscale diner, but it just feels unsure of what/who it is. the décor is very stylish, but the seating arrangement is cafeteria-like, servers look like farmhands, and most of the guests look like a regular crowd at McDonald's. the host's stand &reservations (necessary if you don't want to wait 40+minutes) make it formal, but who waits 40min. to sit at a diner? the bar area is confused in every way & cocktails are disappointing. go next door to Maude's instead."

  • "Loved the food and the drinks were delish! A bit loud but the abience is fun"

  • "Yummy! Our server was excellent-very helpful with recommendations. We had the crunchy shrimp, fish tostadas and goat taco salad. Everything was delicious with unique flavors. Was thinking about my meal all day the next day!"

  • "The food was great and the atmosphere charming. We had a great server. My only complaint was that the music was cranked! Bon Jovi was an ill fit in this space."

  • "Put this place on your MUST EAT HERE list for Chicago. The little sister to Girl & the Goat, the food is outstanding, unique, and reasonably priced. The decor and ambiance was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place to every friend and family member. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Excellent place. I went with coworkers for lunch. Nice enough to have a business lunch, but casual enough to be comfortable."
    Dined on 8/20/2014
  • "We had breakfast foods, prepared with flair. Indian wrap with sunny side up eggs. Crumpets with chorizo we're very sweet but good. Menu is huge - I don't know how you couldn't find something you would like."

  • "Should be better. Sides and desserts were very good. Fried chicken was overcooked and dried out. Nice ambiance. Very noisy."

  • "This is no ordinary diner. I've eaten at LG numerous times and have yet to make a dent in the menu; I'm always stopped by the specials. This time it was the Bloody Mary Omelet. I never missed the gin - it was an unbelievably delicious omelet. Service is always terrific but never normal - as unexpected in its originality as the food. My only complaint - it's usually too loud. But if you can score one of the booths by the windows, you can almost have a conversation while enjoying the best food in Chicago."

  • "Enjoyed the food and energy inside. Craving everything on the menu still so I'm gonna go back for sure!"
    Dined on 8/18/2014
  • "Ms. Izard can do no wrong! My braised beef was cooked to tender perfection and I almost drank the au jus that came with my sandwich. The house made bread stood up to a good drenching without losing its form and I devoured almost the entire plate of goat chili cheese fries myself."

  • "Food was excellent. Creative menu. Service average. Parking difficult -pricey valet. Good vibe but difficult to have conversation."

Look forward to our 2nd visit, in which we'll endulge in breakfast - so looking forward to it! And a rooftop experience is in the mix too!!!"

  • "First off, our server Andrea was friendly & well informed about the selections at the diner. Without hesitation, she answered all of our questions & made excellent suggestions. Delicious bloody mary. The kimchi bacon breakfast tasty Asian little pancake thing was quite possibly the best breakfast item we have ever put into our mouth. Unbeatable in texture & flavor, I would return here just for another plate of it. The menu itself offered so many enticing choices, we wanted to come back for lunch, dinner & 3 meals the next day. I cannot wait to return for a meal at any meal time. What a great diner. The success of this experience made us try The Girl & The Goat late night & was equally impressive."

  • "My niece picked Little Goat for her birthday lunch celebration, and it was the perfect pick! Once were were finally able to make a decision (everything sounded amazing), we thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meals!I will go back for the fish tostadas again. Great little b-day shake to celebrate too!"

  • "The Little Goat was on our must list for our quick trip to Chicago. The quality of food and excellent service exceeded expectations. Highly recommend. We did not expect to see the owner on the line, which was a pleasant surprise and made our experience that much better."

  • "Had a great experience at Little Goat! Creative items on the menu, group-friendly atmosphere, and the servers are knowledgeable and helpful. Come hungry so that you can share dessert at the end - it is a must! And don't forget to try the mac-n-cheese!"

  • "We love Little Goat! Each time we are there, the food is consistently delicious and service great. Whether it is breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, everyone can find something to love. Dessert is also a hit. My personal favorite is the Taco Salad. Sounds hum drum, but this is not just anyone's taco salad. It is a creation with goat meat, pickled onions and an amazing dressing. We love Little Goat and will continue to bring our friends and family there."

  • "My classic burger and my husbands patty melt were both very salty other than that the food was deliciious. Willl go back and if food is too salty again, will return it to the kitchen."

  • "Four of us sat outside and 2 of us had cocktails. The Elaine stritch was delicious. Two of us ordered chicken and vegie salads which were very good, and so was the Mediterranean salad which was much more plentiful. The Korean burger was a little dried out and didn't have the Korean spices I expected but the bun was delicious. I would try it again. Loved using open table online reservations and happy that they seated us outside upon request. Noted that other people were waiting up to 45 minutes without a reservation. Bathrooms were also very clean and there was more than one individual woman's bathroom."

  • "Not located quite in the center but did not mind walking the mile and a half to discover another great little neighborhood of Chicago. Waitress was great, food was great! You must try it!"

  • "all delicious - fish tostadas, fried chicken, brisket sandwich, chick pea salad, and $20 burger (you won't regret it!) Mickey blue eyes coctail and cookie shake are not to be skipped!"

  • "Came here on a Thursday night w some coworkers. We split the goat chili cheese fries, tempura mashed potatoes and mac and cheese - all delicious. With the help of the waiter I decided to order the Los Drowned which was so good. We finished the meal with ice cream sundaes and the cake of the day, a spiced Mexican chocolate cake, which was amazing. Great service, great food - will return!"

  • "The food continues to impress me, and the atmosphere is fun and energetic. The only problem is that I've met here for lunch quite a few times and every time it is very very loud."

  • "The Little Goat is an outstanding restaurant. The food is delicious, and I love the bloody marys!!"

  • "We have dined at the Girl and the Goat as well. Little Goat is an excellent find. The Service was excellent and the food outstanding. We would definitely return."

  • "Came to Chicago for a short family vacation and our concierge recommended Little Goat. The food was very tasty, the restaurant was quite kid friendly, and the service was really good. Only warning for parents -- the kids portions are very large, but they made for great leftovers the next day."
    Dined on 8/5/2014
  • "Food is great but the rest of the experience was very disappointing. Made a reservation and still had to wait 15 minutes for a table on Tuesday and then they sat me and my 9 months pregnant wife at the diner counter. We watched the hostess seat other couples at tables that came in after us and to top it off she gave us a half-hearted apology about it saying she really tried to get us a table. There were 3 open tables a minute after they sat us."

  • "Went on a friend's recommendation and had the BEST brunch! It's apparent that you're in the hands of culinary talent from your first peek at the menu. We had pancakes, cheddar/maple-infused sausages, great egg dishes and the best darn home fries I've ever eaten. Didn't partake of the cocktails, but enjoyed the Chilean, super-potent(!), iced coffee from LG's adjacent cafe bar. Have been recommending to anyone who'll listen. Loved it. (p.s. -- that bourbon-infused maple syrup will change your life.)"

  • "While the diner-like atmosphere was lively and fun, the menu was limited and a little on the heavy side. It was hard to find something appropriate for a hot summer night. However, once choices were made and food was served, our dinners were excellent. The fried chicken was perfect. I should have studied the menu before making a reservation. But it's a cute place and it made for an enjoyable casual evening."

  • "We dined on Saturday evening, August 2nd. Our server was excellent. I don't recall his name, but he was perfect. I love it when the the waitstaff is opinionated and passionate about menu items. He helped us choose some fantastic dishes! We tried the porkbelly-scallion-pancake, fish tostadas, and cheesy-shrimp-grits. All mouth-watering, complex flavors, and beautifully presented. I will return on my next Chicago trip! Also, I was very happy with the noise levels. Nothing annoys me more than trying to enjoy a meal with a friend and having to shout at each other. I was so happy that your establishment was not booming with noise, we could pleasantly eat and talk. An overall great dining experience. Thank you!"

  • "Little Goat Diner takes Diner food to a whole new level of creativity and flavor. I have had Shrimp and Grits in many places, but at Little Goat, the grits were cheesy, yet light, the Shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce was so full of fresh veggies and flavorful that I almost asked for bread to sop up every last drop. My friend had the 'Breakfast Spaghetti" which was a very creative twist on a spaghetti dinner.. and we finished off the night with a Smoked Pork and Toffee Shake that we all shared... where else would you ever find something like that? And it was tasty.. (but filling - almost a meal in and of itself.) All in all a great night at Little Goat diner"
