Little Fountain Cafe, located in the heart of Adams Morgan serves modern international cuisine. Our intimate dining room (38 seats) provides a relaxed, civilized atmosphere for fine dining at moderate prices. A little fountain, in the corner of the room, with trickling water and plants, as well as the one garden table out front, lend a natural atmosphere to this cozy dining room. Menu options include fresh oysters on the half shell, crabcakes, pan roasted organic free range chicken, Idaho trout, ribeye steak and vegetarian pastas to name a few. All of our delicious desserts are made in house. We now offer a 3-course prixfixe menu (appetizer, main course, and dessert) for $24.95 every night.

The closest DC comes to a Parisian cave, LFC is the place for a quiet evening with your significant other. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the service informal but prompt. The food is wonderful, but the menu could use updating. Lighter fare would be welcome along with more vegetarian choices.

Went on a Friday night. The deco inside is cosy, but because it is in the basement, I nearly missed it. Too bad the front let it down, I believe if it has a more noticeable entrance, the restaurant would attract more clients. The service is good. Though I made a reservation via Open Table, and requested a table by the window, when I arrived, the only table that was by the window was occupied, so I am not too please about that. Now the food is contemporary American. All the dishes were well prepared apart from everything was a bit too salty for my taste. My dining companion ordered duck, that was well cooked to medium rare. We were really surprised to see the portion was European size, which means it is way too small by American sta

The Little Fountain Cafe was a quiet romantic dining experience. I was hoping to be seated at the outdoor table near the fountain, but now am glad we were seated indoors by the indoor fountain where it was away from the foot traffic. The service was excellent, very warm and attentive and not obtrusive. The little fountain salad was tasty with crunchy bits of fried shallots and an excellent shallot vinaigrette. The pork was tender and tasty. It was made with a cornichon sauce which was very unique with a good combination of spicy and sour. My husband got the shad which was excellent. The texture difference between the soft filet and the roe was amazing. The desserts were fantastic esp the chocolate chip bread pudding.

This was my second time here. Again, service was friendly, professional and attentive, while food was good(though the eggplant pasta could've been less seasoned. The flavor was incredibly strong, and I personally prefer more mild food). Waitress was generous in giving us a big heaping of complimentary bread when we requested a second batch. I'd like to see wheat rather than white bread, though. But overall, the best thing about this restaurant -- which I still can't get over -- is the ambiance. It's a tranquil, peaceful, romantic getaway from the usual boisterous spots in Adams Morgan.

This place is wonderful. Great ambiance, and I love that the staff and menu are attentive to vegetarians. Our server mentioned without us asking that the soup was made with vegetable stock - a lot aren't. The food was great, and the prices aren't absurd. This is one of our favorite romantic spots.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The restaurant is hidden away underground; it's so quiet, you would never guess you were in the heart of Adam's Morgan. We arrived late but were never made to feel that we were in the way. THe waitress was prompt and friendly. I wouldn't recommend the cafe salad (basically a plate of lettuce), but the crab cake appetizer and two main dishes we ordered were fantastic. I've never had such a moist, flavorful and meaty breast of chicken before, and my boyfriend, who is particular about seafood, really enjoyed the salmon. A quiet romantic spot to start the evening before heading out to Adam's Morgan for more action.

This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in Washington DC. Although, the restaurant is located among the chaos of Adams Morgan's Bar Strip, this restaurant is a special gem. Little Fountain's food and ambivalence are outstanding for a special occasion. I had the roasted duck with cranberry relish and the duck was cooked perfectly. The service were also outstanding. Although, I went with a colleague, I can't wait to take my wife for our anniversary.

Little Fountain Cafe is a quiet, neighborhood, romantic spot right in the middle of two hookah bars in Adams Morgan. Weird, right? But it didn't dissapoint. Based on a small menu, the food was excellent all around. Only complaint was the bread served with the cheese plate with burnt, but other than that, the 3 courses we had were phenomenal. Their rum bread pudding made it into my top 3 desserts of all time. The downstairs resturant is cozy, but not packed, and the wait staff has a comfortable, informal feel to their service. Highly recommend this spot.

The restaurant was cozy and not uppity -- a secret little gem in a neighborhood that's broken down between upscale restaurants (in DC, these tend to be "uppity") and late-night bar food. This was the perfect setting before a play I attended with my significant other. Relaxed, quiet, and professional. With top notch wine and food!

Enchanting - cozy, charming in a European way, romantic. Reminded us of some place you would find in Paris or Madrid. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Many enticing items on the menu and the prices were reasonable. The food was delicious and we had a lovely pinot noir from the Santa Barbara, Calif. area. Definitely a keeper. Just hope that Tom Sietsema does not write it up as we would rather keep it to ourselves.

Little Fountain Cafe is a quant little restaurant settled between two shops on 18th street. If you're not looking for it, you would miss the small neon sign hanging just above the side walk. 15 tables max, so the setting is very quiet and intimate, perfect for a date night with someone you're still trying to get to know. The food is good, but it's really the service and the ambiance of the restaurant that make it a memorable evening.

It was my first time at this tucked-away, cozy restaurant. what stood out most was the ambiance -- very tranquil and romantic. It's a fantastic getaway from the noise often surrounding Adams Morgan. Service was quick, attentive and polite. Waiter refilled our complimentary bread before we even needed to ask for it. Food was delicious (though portions could've been larger for the high price) -- we had the mussels appetizer, trout and flank entrees and bread pudding dessert. Will definitely return.

Little Fountain is a great restaurant. With one exception. They didn't have enough staff on the Friday night I was there. We had to wait and wait for simple things like bread and my cocktail. The two women doing everything - from greeting guests, changing tables, serving food, getting drinks - did yeomen's work. They were very nice and patient despite being so clearly overworked. I expected better service from a place that has such great food and wonderful ambience. I would recommend Little Fountain in a heartbeat but tell people to either go on a week night, or be prepared to wait a long time for everything to arrive at your table.

The ambiance was very good. The place was not crowded or noisy. The tables weren't squeezed together to seat more people. The service was excellent and the wine list was more than adequate. All three meals served at our table were well prepared and presented but nothing spectacular. With a bottle of wine and tip $200 for three mediocre meals is passable and I would return but would continue the search for something better. Two and a half stars out of five.

We enjoyed the experience, but the food was not as good as it could have been. Salads were nice, but overdressed. Sauce on the meat was made with canned tomatoes, rather than fresh. Mussels were good, but I would have loved the option of an entree size order since I have a limited diet and none of the other entrees met my needs.
