  • "I found this gem through OT.com for a business dinner. My colleagues and I liked it so well that we were back two more time in the following two weeks. The fish is excellent! The servers are very attentive and helpful with decision making. Save room for dessert (I am particularly fond of the walnut cake)."

  • "Not our first time dining at Lithos but the 1st time with kids. We were celebrating my MIL's 70th birthday. We had a fantastic waiter who catered to everyone's needs, especially the kids. Despite not having a kids menu, he was able to work with us & ensure our kids had plenty to eat. Notable appetizers included the grilled octopus, grilled eggplant & Lithos chips. Aside from the fresh fish selection (can never go wrong with the Bronzino), the standout entrees we had included the seafood stew over Fide pasta & Lamb chops. The special watermelon cocktail was also delicious. We had not planned on having dessert since we had cake at home but they brought out a huge piece of their walnut cake. The cake was delicious. Great experience."

  • "Definitely the best in Livingston, along with The Ritz. Possibly the best in the county. Can't wait to go back."

  • "The entire staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful with regard to describing the menu. The food was fresh, well prepared and absolutely delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. The ambience was lovely- warm, cozy, romantic, as well as being family friendly. I highly recommend Lithos for anyone who wants a wonderfully sumptuous dining experience"

  • "We knew that this restaurant had a good reputation for seafood and ambience, but we didn't know much more about it until we had dinner there on a recent Saturday. The food, wine, service, and ambience were all exceptional and overall it exceeded our expectations. We can't say that for most restaurants. It is a special place."

  • "Great value for the taste and portion in a contemporary and classically decorated space. came here sunday for brunch. Had to say, I was a bit unsure about how brunch served at a Greek-Mediterranean restaurant would be but the menu looked interesting so gave it a try. Here's what we ordered: Spanakopita- light filling that wasn't too soggy. Crispy exterior but slightly underdone for my taste. Lithos Omelette- A little overcooked for my taste but the pieces of Manouri cheese chunks spread throughout provided a nice kick to the dish. Solomos: Ouzo Cured Salmon (Appetizer)- surprised by the spread and amount of salmon on the plate. Went perfectly with the Lithos Salad. Chicken Souvlaki- Succulent pieces of chicken. Solid dish."

  • "Very appealing menu with many unusual choices. Food was prepared perfectly. Service was outstanding, and the server was very helpful in making choices. He also let us sample the wines before ordering them. Although dinner was fairly expensive, we believed we received our money's worth for an outstanding evening."

  • "Great menu, including an early bird weekday prix fixe! Took a friend there to celebrate her birthday and she loved it as well. Service is always top notch."

  • "Lithos lined up the fish on the ice for customers to see and pick their own fish. Our fish was deboned and grilled to perfection. The food was delicious and service was very good. I loved the restaurant but could only come for special occasion. Why? It was expensive."

  • " They had an overpriced special menu for Father's Day and deleted some of their Greek specialities which we were looking forward to.. The basic Greek salad had tasteless tomatoes and cucumbers. The meat was all overcooked and seasonless. The waiter did not listen to anything we asked for. My husband ordered a martini stirred and he brought it shaken...not once but twice! Empty dishes were not removed from the table unless I asked numerous times. The table was not cleaned when dessert was served (15 minutes after coffee) and olive pits and crumbs were all over. At $25 appetizers and $40 plus entrees that is a disgrace. I am tired of overpriced bad food.....and that is what they served....with bad service included!!!"

  • "A nice local restaurant for special occasions but a bit pricey for an everyday place to take the family. Not much on the menu for kids to choose."

  • "We absolutely loved every morsel of food. We ordered several different appetizers including mussels, zucchini chips, Greek salad and calamari. Each dish was perfect. As our main dishes we had dorado, pink snapper and shrimp. We all loved our food. I especially love the roasted lemon potatoes. Lithos is right in our neighborhood and we are so lucky to have such a fine restaurant near by. The service was excellent. What more can we ask for.A lovely night of dining with good friends. "

  • "The salads and appetizers were good. Those of us that ordered fish were happy enough. I ordered beef which was a disappointment. The waiter was good. The ambiance is nice. It is not a bad restaurant but the food did not inspire me. "

  • "This restaurant is as fabulous as the best you might find on the Mediterranean. I don't think this caliber of Greek seafood exists on this side of the Atlantic. Totally gorgeous restaurant, totally magnificent food. Wonderful service and ambiance, interesting and refined wine list ... What a gem! Cannot wait to go back and introduce our friends to this amazing restaurant. "

  • "I was there on a Saturday night for a double date. The service is really what stands out to me after the food! (The place is beautiful as well). Our waiter went through the menu and specials and once we mentioned specific tastes, he gave us recommendations. He sold us on the lamb chops and all 3 individuals who ordered the entree were very pleased. I ordered the salmon w/ asparagus and I have to admit, it was cooked to perfection and w/ the perfect seasoning. We ended the night w/ cappuccinos and dessert. We were not disappointed from the appetizers (tomatokeftedes and spanakopita), entrees to the desserts. We can't wait to come back!"

  • "The food and wine were excellent, ambiance was enjoyable, crowd mature. Waiters were knowledgeable and with the sense of humor. We were the last ones at the restaurant and were not rushed. Met the owner towards the end of our dinner. Learned that there is a private room for weddings and special events (up to 80 people). Both the owner and his daughter were super friendly. Appetizers included grilled octopus, salad and grilled calamari - all excellent, main coarse - red snapper - excellent, desert was greek yogurt with scoops of delicacies - to die for! Highly recommend for foodies. "

  • "I think the best way to sum up this place is that it's a "poor mans" version of Milos in midtown manhattan. If you are not familiar with Milos, it is probably the best Greek place in the NYC and is ultra pricey. At Lithos, the food is pretty good, nice bar, and usually a decent crowd. But it is pretty expensive and not nearly the quality of Milos. All in all, I would go back, but once in a while only."

  • "We had a wonderful meal at Lithos on Easter Sunday. Last year they offered an excellent holiday prix fixe menu which Open Table said was available again this year, but ultimately was not. Everything was a la carte. In any event, the appetizers were spectacular and the main course that all at the table ordered (leg of lamb in phyllo) was delicious and beautifully prepared, though a bit pricey for the small amount of lamb it contained. Desserts were fabulous, too, as was the relaxing ambiance and superb service by our waiter, Mina. He made it a fun experience for us all. "

  • "The food was not very good and was completely overpriced. I thought it would be fun to celebrate Easter Dinner at an authentic Greek restaurant. It was ver disappointing!! They charged $17.00 for an order of 4 chicken fingers with french fries! Really???"

  • "We went here without any knowledge except that the menu was not going to be Chicago greekland All of us agreed that this was a special restaurant . Our waiter Vlad was friendly and knowledgeable. The bus service was top notch and the fish meals and appetizers surpassed expectations . This is a hidden gem of a place . The building and decor made us feel like we left the suburbs of nj We will return"

  • "My wife and I decided to take a journey out of NYC to Short Hills, NJ for a weekend getaway and the highlight of the weekend was dining at Lithos! While I am by no means a foodie, and have never tried Greek, I absolutely loved the experience, food & service. I ordered one of the specials (Blacked Red Snapper with a Mushroom Risotto) and my wife ordered their Swordfish dish and we both felt more than satisfied with every bite. The staff there was attentive and kind, timely and responsive to our request. A marvelous experience and we will be driving back there for future special occasions as the Mr. Katsoudas has himself a fine establishment. Cheers to many years of Lithos Estiatorio success..."

  • "My husband and I have dined at Lithos many times and we feel it is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the area But if u go often can be too pricey. A lot of items are priced correctly but the whole fresh fish can make for an expensive evening paired with a bottle of wine. The wine list should offer some less expensive choices. The whole fish that u buy by the pound is very good but can run you 50.00. Great restaurant, great food not a twice a month place to eat for us. The service is always excellent but slow sometimes on a busy Saturday."

  • "Excellent restaurant. Glad to have a high end Greek restaurant in Essex County. Octopus was tender and delicious. Fish was fresh and Lamb over orzo was tender. Restaurant is beautiful inside that you forget you're on Eisenhower Parkway! Great place for a special occasion or nice night out. Can't wait to return."

  • "The ambience was great. Our waiter, Vladamir, was extremely attentive, though not intrusive. We enjoyed the grilled octopus and one of the appetizer specials, Maryland crab cakes. The octopus was nicely marinaded and grilled to perfection. The crab cakes were equally as delicious. We also tried the veggie chips with tzatziki, but weren't too crazy about those. The tzatziki was really good, though. At the recommendation of Vladamir, we ordered the Dorado fish. It was absolutely wonderful. Fresh and delicious are just two words to describe our new Greek spot. This was our first time at Lithos and we can't wait to go back very soon with some friends."
