Diner Reviews
  • "Everything from appetizer to desert was delicious. The pork belly is a must try. I had never had it before and I contemplated ordering it for desert it was so good. I ordered the halibut and it melted in my mouth. We had great service and great atmosphere."

  • "I purchased the Groupon and wanted to try Litchfield's again after not being there for about a year. Great food and service; Christine was charming and helpful. We'll come back again."

  • "The Mrs. and I love the ambiance, the excuisite food choices by the chefs', and our corner booth. As our favorite restaurant in all of the Metropolitan Phoenix region, we're regulars and never leave without being completely satisfied from the experience."

  • "Initially some confusion with the reservation. A 6:30 pm reservation they were out of a primary food (lamb) very disappointing to my guest who wanted to order this."

  • "The service was way too fast - I felt hurried and rushed throughout the entire meal and was out in 1 hour for a three course meal and had indigestion. Food was fine."

  • "I ordered the Ribeye that is from a Local Rancher. It was one of the Best Ribeyes I have ever had. My Friend had the Lamb Chops and she said they were the Best she had ever eaten. We shared our meals and had a really nice time, I highly recommend Litchfield's at the Wigwam."

  • "Litchfield's is great. I appreciate the diverse menu selections and the seasonal changes. Wine list was lovely. Service by Christine was very good. I appreciate the fact they used our names."

  • "It started out on a down note, we were told when I called them & told them we were going to be a little late for our reservation & could we move it to later. I was told "not going to happen" in those words. Then when we tried to get there on time, there was a bad accident on the freeway & a portion of it was closed. So we were a 1/2 hr late. They did get us in, and the food was good and so was the service, although a little slow. Would we go back? Hard to say...possibly, but not without a coupon, steaks were pricey..."

  • "Really enjoyed our dinner at Litchfields. The food was outstanding in a pretty setting. Even though it was Fathers day it wasn't noisy and the service was very good. My wife had lamb and I had filet both were as good as any we have had and our server was delightful."

  • "Our first visit to Litchfield's. Impressed with atmosphere, service and food. We'll definately go again. What a great dining experience!"

  • "As the title suggests, Litchfield's strives to obtain as much of it's menu from local farms/growers as possible. The quality and freshness certainly come through in most of the entrees. Some of the appetizers were a bit against that trend, however. We had the scallops, rock shrimp and calamari appetizer. All of it was fried and the scallops were a bit too salty. However, my bone-in ribeye was prepared perfectly as well as my wife's chicken. Both had great colors and flavors. If you're in the area or staying at The Wigwam resort, this should be on your short list of dining options."

  • "I had Litchfield's on my list for quite sometime and with Restaurant Week, it was the excuse I needed to go. Let me start by saying the food was fantastic, but for the amount of customers, service was a lot slower then I expected. From greeting us after we sat down, to taking our order, to returning with my credit card it all took to long in my opinion. It also didn't help that the waitress brought my guest the wrong wine. I will definitely go back but for the price, I expected service to be much better."

  • "I ate at Litchfield's before and food and service were excellent. Our waitress service was fair at best. Bus boys were the only good spot in the service category."

  • "This was our first visit to Litchfield's, and it won't be our last. The food was delicious. We went for Restaurant Week, and ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. I got the spring pea chilled soup with dungeness crab, mascarpone, and Meyer lemon oil, and it was to die for. My husband got the pork belly, and it was also great. For dinner I had a steak and my husband had the pork tenderloin, which were both perfectly cooked, and the sides were amazing, too. I got the cherry lemonade sorbet, which was the best sorbet I have ever had, and my hubby had the whipped cream and strawberry tartlet, which he loved. They use ingredients from local ranches, dairies, farms, and artisans, which I am a huge fan of. We will definitely visit again!!"

  • "Had not been to the Wigwam in some time, but they used to be excellent with wonderful food. For some reason the food is now only marginal. However the service was still good."

  • "Went for an early dinner around 5:00 but we were still surprised how few people came in by 6:00 on a Friday night because the food was great and prices were very reasonable. The server was pleasant and overall service was attentive but not overbearing. Scallops were terrific and my business partner raved about the duck. Interesting set up to have the chef cooking in the open. It added to the relaxing evening. Not sure that this falls under "Ambience", but the booth seats were not very comfortable. That is the only change I would make. I would recommend sitting at a table unless the booth seats are improved. The overall rating for me is still above a 4. "

  • "Our family had dinner at Litchfield's this past Mother's Day, May 11, 2014. The service was very good and the restaurant was very accommodating to a "special" diet (I'm vegan). The chef prepared a vegetable platter and the veggie selection was great (simple mixed of three - grilled potatoes, asparagus, and hmmm - I forgot the third). Perfectly prepared al dente. The wine list was very nice - great selections but not too overwhelming. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Our dinner was excellent. The service, I would rate very high. The noise level was too high after a group of 12 men were seated near us, but overall, we enjoyed our evening."

  • "My wife and I went to Litchfield's for our 1 year Anniversary and it was very very good. I had the filet, which comes from a local farm and was extremely fresh. My wife has the Grouper which came from Mexico and she also enjoyed her meal. The atmosphere was great and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!"

  • "I want to like Litchfield's - I really do. I want to promote good restaurants on the "West side" and I applaud the farm to table concept; however, the food has to have flavor and this meal did not. My date's soup - supposed to be some cheese or something or other - had no flavor - we both tasted it and couldn't tell what it was. My ravioli app. was like rubber - I've never had rubber pasta before. My grouper was ok and my date's duck was good and cooked as she asked. Service was very good - almost too good - too fast. So, as I said, this isn't my first time to Litchfield's and I really want to like it but not so much. Sorry!"

  • "Sea scallops and grouper dinners were very good. Our waitress was personable and attentive. Eating at an early hour was a good idea as it filled up and got noisier."

  • "We really enjoy the food here, but the service is poor. Out of about 10 visits I can only remember 1 good server. We just went here to celebrate out 10th anniversary and we never had a server! The man who sat us eventually took our drink order, then saw no one ever came to our table so he came and took our order too! I think the water boy brought us our check! The weirdest experience. So NOT special for our anniversary and so very disappointing for such a great historic place. Love the food, hate the lack of management who can't get and train a team. "

  • "My husband and I just had dinner at Litchfield's for the last time. First I had to ask to have a dirty water glass replaced. My salad contained wilted greens and my husband said his tasted as if the dressing was bottled. They skimped on his anchovies, only one. My grouper came on a bed of raw potatoes. Raw potatoes! Then when the waitress asked me how it was she glared as if to say, "Don't you dare complain." Most of the patrons were wearing shorts and t shirts. For a $125 dinner for two (incl. tip and valet) I expect more."

  • "We suggested to our new neighbors that we visit the Wigwam Resort, so rich in interesting history, and then have dinner at Litchfield's. They were not disappointed by our suggestion. The meals were excellent and the atmosphere great. We look forward to returning soon to experience new menu items."

  • "Food was excellent and service attentive. Only objection would be how noisy it became as the restaurant filled up. Our table seemed to be in the line of traffic and many people milling around. Not conducive to conversation."

  • "Tough to order - such an interesting menu, all prepared well."

  • "Our waiter was new, spoke very little english, and was definitely out of his league. I have been a vegetarian since 1975, and have ordered at some of the finest restaurants in the country. The fact that they had no vegetarian options was a little shocking. They only had 3 vegetables to choose from to add to a pasta, really?? They didn't even have tomatoes. What decent restaurant doesn't have tomatoes? When the entree's were served, we were all disenchanted. Capital Grille, and many more will make great vegetarian/vegan entrees for the many people who have dietary restrictions. Litchfields should add some vegetarian/vegan, and gluten-free items to their menu. Science now says to eat low on the food chain to maintain a healthy life."

  • "We have been giving Litchfield's a try for several years now, wanting to like them because the setting at the Wigwam is so lovely and there aren't any other really good restaurants close by, but they continually disappointed us with overpriced average food and poor service. But this year we were happily surprised. The spinach gnocchi and beet salad were very good. My husband's filet mignon was excellent. I ordered the salmon entree and while it was very good , there was too much salmon in proportion to the amount of brussel sprouts. Our chocolate dessert was disappointing in texture and taste. A big miss. That said, we had a lovely evening at Litchfield's and will return."

  • "We really enjoyed our evening at Litchfields. Our server was delightful and shared with us her favorites from the menu. She was spot on with the Sea Bass and Pork Bellies--both were delicious. The sourdough bread was excellent--perfectly crusty. The view was very nice and the area was quiet enough to visit. Thanks for a great evening!"

  • "We liked the restaurant but the service was a little weird. We ordered a bottle of Sonoma Pino and they delivered a bottle of a Central Coast vineyard which looks similar but we know costs less. We had to point this out to the waitress who didn't seem to know and said this was what was given to her. We eventually got the right bottle after complaining to the manager. We felt un-easy after that about the restaurant's honesty. The wine cost as much as our dinners. This is supposed to be a fine dining experience?"

  • "Not only do my wife and I enjoy dining at this fine restaurant for special occasions, but also when we're in the mood for a relaxing atmosphere and great meal. Looking forward to our next visit, which may very well be next month for my wife's birthday."

  • "My wife and I were married at the Wigwam resort so we dine at Litchfield's on our anniversary. As before, the food tasted amazing and the atmosphere was perfect for our occasion, but in my opinion, the service lacked compared to years past. Our waitress was a "robot" and was not personable with us in any way. Previous servers have been more engaging and celebrated our special occasion with us, making our dining experience more memorable. Also, they forgot to bring out the "pre-meal" bread and butter. Finally realizing this, it was finally served moments before our meals. In no way was the service rude or unprofessional, so we still enjoyed our anniversary dinner. It just wasn't as memorable as years past."

  • "All was good! We went back twice in 1 week and really liked what we ordered. Seabass and Grouper Special was amazingly moist and flakey.I tried the duck and lamb chops and was pleased that they cooked it exactly how I asked. We plan to bring family back at the end of March to celebrate our dad's birthday."
