Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Lippi on a quiet Monday evening, as we faced the outdoor cascading infinity fountain. This is an exquisite place. The main course servings are very small, appropriate for a share menu, which we elected not to do. We could easily have ordered a few more courses and shared everything, which would, have course, been rather costly. When we paid the bill and asked that the check be evenly divided between the two couples, one was charged $20 more than the other. The bill was remedied, but only after a long wait, with no apology for the mix-up. The restaurant was not busy."

  • "So sad, we were the only table there on Friday night. The food was still good, the menu was much smaller. The server told us they were going to close in a month and reopen with a different concept. Guess the word got out that the chef left and no one came to eat."

  • "Service, decor and atmosphere were good and our food was superb--the flavor and presentation. It is right on Brickell between the bridge and Calle 8 with nice outdoor dining (in cooler months or the evening). Prices are high a la Cipriani's without the river/bay view and service was a little slow as we wrapped up."

  • "Expensive; too over price for what and how they serve."

  • "...and will be back. The scrambled eggs for appetizer were surprisingly great. Everything we ate we liked..."

  • "The food was excellent. Sitting outside on Brickell great. Service attentive. Price was exorbitant. For a smaller plate restaurant, there is no excuse for the price in relation to the portion size. "

  • "We have passed in front of this restaurant so many times and only this time we decided to make a reservation. The ambience is very nice, making us feeling welcome from the moment we have entered. The service was fantastic. We were even addressed by our own names from the start. We have been traveling so much all over the world and, in spite of having been in so many restaurants, we were really surprised in Lippy, specially due to: the quality & presentation of the food, the portions are really the right ones, combined with a very good choice of wines. For sure it was the first time we were there, however mostly sure it was not our last."

  • "Everything was excellent except for the music the noise was unbearable. You could not even speak to the person with you. This type of restaurant requires soft music. The music was bar music."

  • "The noise level was more than unpleasant. Food was good, but the service was not. Will not return."

  • "Lippi has nice atmosphere with good food. Prices are outlandish for the portions that are served. There are much better dining options in Miami then Lippi unless you are on someone else's dime"

  • "Great restaurant to have a wonderful dinner. Food is great, people who attend are nice looking, elegant scene. Restaurant was not ful which makes it more confortable. Nice tables outside. Artichokes, duck and fois gras are musts!"

  • "Food is good to very good. We had many problems with our table service including running out of wine and water. We were also overcharged for corking fee which after complaining was fixed. Not a cheap place, good location and ambiance. For the price and service, go somewhere else. "

  • "We arrived and decided to have a drink before dinner at the bar. Unusually quiet for a Friday night. The bar area and restaurant is very beautiful and the service is good. Bar service a little slow bartenders seem very busy even though bar was fairly empty. Bartenders a little cold to the patrons. At dinner I had the much read about truffle eggs. Disappointed found them very plain. The mushroom risotto was very good. My husband had the crudo platter and was happy. The sommelier lady was very helpful and super sweet! The chocolate souffle is worth the wait! The restaurants seemed pretty empty and for the $ I would rather return to its sister Zuma."

  • "I was a fan of Lippi's chef from his days at the Biltmore Palm D'Or restaurant, and had not been able to visit Lippi's. Finally visited this last Tuesday, we went with the tasting menu with wine pairing and loved everything on it, all the plates were delicious, creative and cook to perfection and the sommelier selection to pair them was great. Ambiance was great but to my taste just in the terrace, I could not seat inside the noise is unbearable, the feeling inside is more of a bar than an upscale restaurant but seating outside and seeing the Brickellers come and go was relaxing and entertaining. This is a restaurant to try if you love and appreciate the good cuisine! "

  • "The ambience is great, but the inside music is way too loud. The food is absolutely fabulous, though a bit pricey."

  • "We came back for more!!! the food is really really good.....this time the service wasn't the same without Nani, should have sat in her section. However the service at the Bar is great before dinner and the selection of whiskies, tequilas etc is phenomenal. They were very slow until later during our reservation approx. 9pm they started to pick up. Hope they make it, because we love the food here."

  • "First: we try to change our schedule 7pm to 8pm and we did not succeed So,we have dinner in an empty hall, the costumers began to arrive 8pm ,when we were already leaving "

  • "Our group of 6 was very disappointed in the dinner we experienced. We were seated inside the restaurant and the music level made it impossible for us to talk. We moved to the outside and found that although the sound level was better it was still way too loud. We asked the server to please turn it down but they failed to do so. We thought that the food was good but the service was very mediocre and we won't be coming back."

  • "I have been here twice and both times have been exceptional. A bit pricey but their portions are perfect and they earn every penny they charge. Can't wait to return!!!!"

  • "This high end, chic dining room features the former Biltmore Chef who is ROCKING the food scene in Brickell. Expertly prepared small tasting plates of foie gras, crudo, crispy cod and oysters were all to die for. Entrees were almost as good as the fall of your diet side dishes of creamy risotto, potato (butter) puree and expertly cooked vegetables. Best wine list in town and the service works as a team, seamlessly blending in between each course. Try and stop "Chef Philippe" as he makes his way around the dining room nightly...he is awesome and a treat to talk with."

  • "Although it's Zuma´s brother/sister; there are many thing to look after. Service was fantastic, food was really good; nothing like ZUMA though. Excellent for a business lunch, try the mushroom risotto with black truffles; A MUST!!!! All the CRUDOS are awesome, specially the Alaskan one and the Balik salmon. Is it really Balik? DESSERTS are beautiful!111111111111111111"

  • "The food was very good. The music was too loud. Had a hard time having a conversation. Not the type off music for dining."

  • "The small dishes let you try/share everything. Conversation around the table is great because you want to discuss how amazing each bite is. Lamb chops=unreal, but any dish could impress the biggest foodie. You will be a happy customer no matter what. Service is friendly and professional. They know the right time to ask if everything is going well, never interrupting at a bad time. I will always go back to Lippi for any occasion. The food doesn't fit in any category of American or French or Japanese -- it's just masterfully prepared dishes for any mood you're in. That simple. Worth the money every time :). One day (soon) Lippi will be the talk of downtown and you'll need a promoter to get you a table! Reserve NOW"

  • "We sat outside on a beautiful cool Miami night. Extremely loud inside, very loud outside. Food was excellent, minimalist, relying on quality ingredients. Farro/beet salad was amazing, as was the duck. Expensive, tho. I would have loved to try the Dover sole but it was $72. They also charged a $45 corkage fee."

  • "I was excited to try dinner at Lippi, but was disappointed for the price. I thought the menu was a little limited for such an upscale restaurant. The waiter over emphasized the idea of sharing each course of the meal at least 2-3 times each time he came to the table. After a dozen total times, we got it, everyone is expected to share! I am a particular eater, so I left very hungry after I shared 75% of each smaller course of what I wanted. Nice atmosphere, but not anywhere I will frequent often due to price and what I was actually able to enjoy."

  • "This is the first time I have ever written a review because I have to let people know how ridiculously small the portions are.... even if it's tapa portions meant for sharing. The price is outrageous! My husband and I spent over $200.00 on four tapa plates and a bottle of "not expensive wine". We left restaurant and ended up sharing a second dinner somewhere else and a dessert! With all the great places that area has to offer and all of the new restaurants opening up, I don't think Lippi will last longer then a year!"

  • "As the Beatles said! Chef Ruiz keeps tempting the palate with new goodies along with his extensive menu of something for everyone. Veggies, grains, fish, meats, fowl, fruits, desserts all come out with gorgeous presentations and amazing flavors. Service is professional without being too intrusive. The dining rooms is elagant yet still relaxing, the bar and bar seating area comfortable and conversation friendly. The wrap-around patio overlooking the plaza and lights of Brickell is the popular go-to spot this time of year. Don't miss this gem."

  • "The portions were small and shareable. One can sample from all the courses and in the end not feel overly full but will experience all the flavors this restaurant offers. The mix of flavors is very upbeat and new. Food could use a little less salt. service is very prompt and never intrusive. Price is in line with the quality."

  • "I was so looking forward to dining at Lippi as the owner also owns Zuma which is one of my favorite restaurants. I cannot believe what a disappoint LIPPI turned out to be. The food is terrible. I will not be going back."

  • "Went with a group of friends late on a Friday night. Had a delicious meal and top notch service. It's quite expensive.... The food, wine list and service are worth it....just make sure you know what you are getting into or else you won't enjoy it. The outdoor space is really special. If it is a nice night, you really should do whatever you can to enjoy the terrace."

  • "Excelent food. We had the 3 courses menu for lunch. Every single dish was perfect, I loved the orecchiette, tartar and lentil salad as appetizers. Main course wonderful as well. The most I liked was the pineapple cannoli... Beautiful presentation and incredible combination of flavors. Delicious! We will be back for dinner next time we visit Miami."

  • "The restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of Brickell with a beautiful high ceiling, contemporary look with a more conservative crowd compared to other restaurants in the area. Menu had a nice selection and our dishes were very tasty however the portions were minimal, truly tiny tapas size, I would not recommend to friends and clients with a healthy appetite. If you are a dessert fanatic like me, I would recommend the chocolate dessert platter for two that was priced at $12 per person again all in tiny sizes but very tasty. Lora."

  • "This restaurant has it all super great: food, service, bar, staff, front desk personal, it seems like they want you back without trying everything runs very smoothly. There is not rush , but at the same time everything gets on time to the table. Few places have earned a WOW rating from me, this one just did that."
