Prepared in a way that is flavorful but you still know you are eating soft crabs, the preparation does not overwhelm the delicate nature of the soft crab. This is also the time of year for cold soups and the gazpacho with crab has just the chunkiness you would expect from a good gazpacho this time of year and topped with snow white backfin crab. have your salad your way, the way we did and it all adds up to a perfect evening. Cocktails and wine wonderful as ever. Barb is the very best server, knows when to chat and when not to. I tried the Mediterranean salad, which was tasty. The swordfish was cooked as I liked it, with an unusual twist....it was panko crusted. I thought it was good, but was expecting it not to be breaded. The spring garden vegetable medley was a perfect accompaniment to the fish. I liked the cocktail I ordered which was put together with a white wine instead of champagne, as I don't drink sparkling beverages. My two guests enjoyed their food very much. Our waiter Bernie, was friendly and helpful. One of my guests always requests him. This recent visit was no exception: every member of our party of five was delighted with their choice as well as the superb service. Linwood's is a class act and it is obvious that they have everything nailed down tightly. We were there on a Sunday night, surprisingly busy for what is usually a sparsely attended evening of the week. Our table was waiting a few minutes before six and we were promptly seated. As always the salad was fresh and crisp and served just as ordered. Soft crabs were available and they were perfectly cooked, crisp, well seasoned but the delicate flavor was not overwhelmed by the grilling. As always, cocktails are well done and not watered down. We had our reception there and it was incredible then, and incredible again for dinner. Their food is to die for! We still get comments one year later about the quality and taste of food at our wedding. The tuna appetizer was amazing and the rest of the meal was wonderful. I can't wait to go back every year!!!
Plus, they have an open kitchen which is neat to watch and neat to see all your food to be prepared by the chefs.

The OpenTable reservation worked well, as I had requested a quiet 4-top table to hold private discussions. The food was perfect. Go with the Crab Gazpacho to open. It's nicely done. Our entre salads were crisp, cold and well composed. The service was nicely coordinated with food delivered promptly and syncronized. First time diner, but was suggested by my client. Obviously, there were a lot of other business and locals who know this restaurant is a gem. But what was there was excellent. Two of us had the streak au poivre. It was perfectly cooked. Gazpacho season is here and tonight's was chunky and full of fresh vegetables with a bright flavor. The crabmeat was truly "icing" on the soup. The mark of a great restaurant is being able to pull off quality food and service on a most busy day. Since this was my friend's special birthday, the waiter brought out a piece of warm and very yummy chocolate cake with a candle in it. That is really good for dipping the great toast that comes with the mussels. A simple dish like roasted chicken reaches new heights at Linwoods. The flavors are deep and rich. There is a new berry compote on the menu. It is super. The sauce is full of berries and the flavors of wine and cinnamon are layered in a way that you taste them separately. The Owner visited our Table and was kind enough to take a photo with us. He is a great man! Staff could have been friendlier, if you bring a birthday cake be prepared to be lectured its $1.50 a plate, we weren't charged so I take it as an empty threat. Waiter was inconsistent, at times very attentive and others not. Never did get a drink refill. Prices are a bit steep for main dishes and certain appetizers, but pizzas and large salads are very affordable. This afternoon was just one more example of how Linwoods makes both lunch and dinner a special event. We each had the grilled tuna sandwich with fries. We ordered the tuna rare and that is exactly the way it came. The tuna was fresh and full of flavor.
Linwoods charms with small things as well as big. We each ordered a glass of wine and even though it was lunch and not dinner the wine was served in a beautifully appropriate glass. We each ordered something different and yet the food was perfectly served. there is a new chicken dish on the menu. It has Japanese overtones and I strongly recommended it. It is one of those dishes with multiple flavor levels. Really excellent. I would also recommend having the rib appetizer before it goes off the menu. Since it is a bit heavier it could go off as warmer weather creeps in. The bar stocks a decent selection of Scotch that is aged appropriately aged for the eatery. The dinner menu is somewhat limited, but there is something for any taste among their selections. The service is very professional, but their wine list is lacking and they don't employ a sommelier. The only portion of the their menu not up to standard, is their dessert menu. It's routine and doesn't have any stand out offerings.

Location easy to find, every staff member encountered during visit were top notch professionals. Although rather crowded with occupied tables nearby, the atmosphere was acceptable for us. Some may prefer more seclusion/privacy for romantic dinner. Menu selections afforded ample choice. Food was served unrushed, but timely.

The outer appearance of the restaurant is nothing special. It is in a commercial office building so I was initially a little concerned. That quickly changed when we got inside. The dining room is very nice. A very nice upscale feel but comfortable. Everyone was very friendly! We were welcomed and are coats were hung. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive! I had made a note on the request part of Open Table that it was my Mom's birthday. They brought her a piece of the chocolate bread pudding with a candle. Very memorable that they took that additional step to make our evening special. The bread pudding was wonderful, as was the apple tart.
