LinwoodsLunch at LinwoodsThe food was great and we had an enjoyable luncheon. The service was good. We will be returning.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredibleWe went to Linwoods because it was our one year anniversary and we were married at Linwoods a year ago. We had our reception there and it was incredible then, and incredible again for dinner. Their food is to die for! We still get comments one year later about the quality and taste of food at our wedding. The tuna appetizer was amazing and the rest of the meal was wonderful. I can't wait to go back every year!!!
Plus, they have an open kitchen which is neat to watch and neat to see all your food to be prepared by the chefs.
AMAZING!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPower lunch in the suburbsHosted a business lunch for 3 professionals there. The OpenTable reservation worked well, as I had requested a quiet 4-top table to hold private discussions. The food was perfect. Go with the Crab Gazpacho to open. It's nicely done. Our entre salads were crisp, cold and well composed. The service was nicely coordinated with food delivered promptly and syncronized. First time diner, but was suggested by my client. Obviously, there were a lot of other business and locals who know this restaurant is a gem. Meeting rooms off to the side of the property for larger groups or seminars.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMTop Notch on a busy Mother's DayEven on a very busy Mother's Day, service was top notch. The menu was stripped down and some of my favorites were missing. But what was there was excellent. Two of us had the streak au poivre. It was perfectly cooked. Gazpacho season is here and tonight's was chunky and full of fresh vegetables with a bright flavor. The crabmeat was truly "icing" on the soup. The mark of a great restaurant is being able to pull off quality food and service on a most busy day. Linwoods did it with ease.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy Linwoods aWe always enjoy Linwoods a great deal, in fact we were there for lunch today again5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's DayWhere was the recognition for mothers on. Mother's Day ? No special flowe...no special centerpiece.....no special dessert????
I was disappointed that you did not celebrate my mom on her special day. $200 for three people and not one special recognition for my 84 year old mother. Shame on you!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMbest restaurant outside ofbest restaurant outside of downtown Baltimore.
Ranks with Charleston, prime Rib, etc.
Service could improve slightly.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAWESOMEI have been several times for lunch; this time it was dinner. They never fail to impress me with their service and food.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!!!What a great choice for our 1st anniversary dinner!!! First, making the reservation on line...completely problem free. We walked in and were sitted immediately. Second, the server was friendly and attentive. Third, the food was splendid!!! Mr.Linwood stopping by our table was an added bonus. The celebatory dessert with a candle just topped the whole dining experience!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner at Linwoods.Great dinner at Linwoods. While it has been part of the dining scene in this area for years, it remains very service and food focused to offer a very relevant product and an enjoyable dining experience.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectly PreparedFabulous meal. Everyone's food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Five happy guests.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGood atmosphere. Food wasGood atmosphere. Food was exceptional. Price is on the high end, for us making it a special occasion destination.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a lovely restaurant. What a lovely restaurant. We went for our anniversary and everyone was friendly and welcoming. One member of our party has a hearing problem and I asked for a quiet table. We were given a perfect table in a very quiet area. We had a fabulous time and will definitely go back.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday Dinner for 2Ravioli's hit the spot! Dinner was delicious, service was on-point. We had a nice table to ourselves in the back, our reservations were early enough to miss the dinner rush. The server was well educated on the menu and gave great recommendations. Will be back again.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGorgeous venue, attentiveGorgeous venue, attentive but not intrusive service, delicious food beautifully presented! You will not be disappointed!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLinwoods was wonderful, asLinwoods was wonderful, as always. They were very accamadating to us when we showed up with 5 instead of the 4 we reserved with.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways more than excellentAlways more than excellent food. The only downside (which is minimal) is that it is located in a strip mall. Once you get inside the ambiance is fine. The staff works very hard and, again, the food is spectacular.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter 25 years Linwoods continuesAfter 25 years Linwoods continues to evolve and get better and better in terms of food and service. The menue is refreshed at least seasonally and there are so many selections that the diner has difficulty chosing among them.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSimple choices rise to new heightsAnother wonderful evening. if you order the mussels marinara, ask for the chunky sauce. That is really good for dipping the great toast that comes with the mussels. A simple dish like roasted chicken reaches new heights at Linwoods. The flavors are deep and rich. There is a new berry compote on the menu. It is super. The sauce is full of berries and the flavors of wine and cinnamon are layered in a way that you taste them separately. Great new item.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWell worth it! !this place was simply fantastic... it was amazing! the server was very very good at his job. he was very delightful. I would highly recommend this establishment and I would certainly go there again in a heartbeat, although it is slightly pricey It is definitely worth it. by the way the Chilean sea bass was incredible!!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSpring menu is hereAnother wonderful evening! we enjoyed the new spring menu. Lots of good choices. it looks like those wonderful ribs have made it onto the permanent menu. Definitely should be tried. Some good new fish options on the new menu.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMPikesville TreasureLove Linwood's and Chef Jay Rohlfing does amazing preparations. The staff is always gracious and welcoming and Linwood and even his wife work the guests greeting the diners as if you are dining in with them in their home. Fantastic dining experience each and very time.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were in a quiet cornerWe were in a quiet corner until we noticed some kind of knocking either behind the wall or above us. We did complain to the hostess and she looked into it, but could not find the cause. Also, our waiter almost forgot the birthday surprise...I had to remind him.
Aside from those two flaws, our food was good and so was the service. It is nice to have a "white tablecloth" restaurant in our neighborhood.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday Dinner at LinwoodsSpectacular Food, the best Steak Dinner I could ever have. The Owner visited our Table and was kind enough to take a photo with us. He is a great man! Staff could have been friendlier, if you bring a birthday cake be prepared to be lectured its $1.50 a plate, we weren't charged so I take it as an empty threat. Waiter was inconsistent, at times very attentive and others not. Never did get a drink refill. Prices are a bit steep for main dishes and certain appetizers, but pizzas and large salads are very affordable. Perfect for business meetings, the customers here are definitely an older more mature crowd.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTreat yourself special at lunchI took a friend to lunch for her birthday. This afternoon was just one more example of how Linwoods makes both lunch and dinner a special event. We each had the grilled tuna sandwich with fries. We ordered the tuna rare and that is exactly the way it came. The tuna was fresh and full of flavor.
Linwoods charms with small things as well as big. We each ordered a glass of wine and even though it was lunch and not dinner the wine was served in a beautifully appropriate glass. Lovely afternoon break from the usual.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMJust wonderful, as always!Just wonderful, as always! The service is impeccable; with the server remembering our orders, even with all kinds of caveats, perfectly. Food is fabulous, the best butternut squash soup I have tasted. The atmosphere is stylish and amazingly quiet on a night when every table was taken. We really appreciate being able to converse with our companions!!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in Baltimore! Our favorite restaurant in Baltimore. We go to Linwood's for any and every special occasion. The food and service are consistently excellent .4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal on a busy dayFood was excellent on a busy Easter Sunday. the new Yakatoi chicken dish is really great. There are layers of flavors that are exciting. I have had it twice now and would go back for more. The butternut squash soup with small bits of apples was perfect for a rainy, cold day and is probably making one of its last appearances on the menu. The tuna Tartare was fresh and spicy. Linwoods always does the best job with salads. Very fresh, made to order and dressed as you like it.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMA must go!Great food , customer service , and beautiful decor. Absolutely loved the open kitchen and exquisite tasting appetizers and entrees!!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMIt has been awhile since myIt has been awhile since my wife and I dined at Linwoods, but the latest experience was as good as the first. I had the braised ribs and my wife had the lobster appetizer and the Rockfish. Both were excellent. And the server was wonderful. Having the owner stop by the table to see how things were going was a pleasant treat. Drinks were also very good.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGet More Than You Pay ForThe added value of consistence, impeccable service and smiles everywhere make Linwood's an exceptional experience.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't wait to go back. WonderfulCan't wait to go back.
Wonderful meal, wonderful service.
Seabass was perfect with the Crabmeat.
Dessert was perfecting ending to dinner.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBest place in town for liverBest place in town for liver and onions. Has a wonderful selection on the menu as well as on the pre fix. The desserts are just as delicious whether it be the bread pudding, hot fudge sundae or sorbet. Entree salads are worth a try.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time atThis was my first time at Linwoods. I had several clients for lunch. The food and service was excellent. I had the spinach and fried oyster sandwhich. The oysters were cooked perfectly - and I mean perfectly!!! A nice light crunchy outer coating - surrounding a moist, tender oyster. All my guests loved their meals. The server was very well trained, experienced....a true pro with attention to detail. Charming but not intrusive or "too present". This is obviously a well managed restaurant with a chef and cooks that really care about each and every dish they prepare.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy BirthdayA group of 6 celebrated my birthday. We each ordered something different and yet the food was perfectly served. there is a new chicken dish on the menu. It has Japanese overtones and I strongly recommended it. It is one of those dishes with multiple flavor levels. Really excellent. I would also recommend having the rib appetizer before it goes off the menu. Since it is a bit heavier it could go off as warmer weather creeps in. This restaurant always pleases with great food and good service.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall, the dinner experienceOverall, the dinner experience was very nice. The bar stocks a decent selection of Scotch that is aged appropriately aged for the eatery. The dinner menu is somewhat limited, but there is something for any taste among their selections. The service is very professional, but their wine list is lacking and they don't employ a sommelier. The only portion of the their menu not up to standard, is their dessert menu. It's routine and doesn't have any stand out offerings.
Linwood's is a great place for dinner, one of the best in Owings Mills, and I would highly recommend this establishment.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDiscovered Linwoods whileDiscovered Linwoods while searching for a restaurant to celebrate 20 years of marital bliss with my wife. Information available online - description, menu, photo's, location/map, & others reviews - led me to choose Linwoods.
Location easy to find, every staff member encountered during visit were top notch professionals. Although rather crowded with occupied tables nearby, the atmosphere was acceptable for us. Some may prefer more seclusion/privacy for romantic dinner. Menu selections afforded ample choice. Food was served unrushed, but timely.
Expectations met!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMore than satisfied customerMy wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at Linwood's. as in the past, the food service and ambience was excellent. I made reservations through Open Table and could not have been more satisfied.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a classic case ofThis is a classic case of don't judge a book by its cover. The outer appearance of the restaurant is nothing special. It is in a commercial office building so I was initially a little concerned. That quickly changed when we got inside. The dining room is very nice. A very nice upscale feel but comfortable. Everyone was very friendly! We were welcomed and are coats were hung. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive! I had made a note on the request part of Open Table that it was my Mom's birthday. They brought her a piece of the chocolate bread pudding with a candle. Very memorable that they took that additional step to make our evening special. The bread pudding was wonderful, as was the apple tart. Everything was wonderful!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food and atmosphere.great food and atmosphere. never had a bad meal here. Friendly courteous service and hostess. Something on the menu for everyone.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an excellent meal.We had an excellent meal. in the past, we have had a couple of lousy meals, but this time everything was greet!3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFeel the luxuryBroke out and tried several new items- all really great! the roasted beet salad was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. the lobster tempura was lightly battered so you could still know you were eating lobster-crisp and not a bit greasy. Excellent honey touch. Salads are fresh and you can happily sub in bleu cheese for whatever is menu offered. You can still get delicious rockfish at Linwoods and with the bacon relish and wonderful risotto, it is a luxurious meal. drinks are served in appropriate glassware and the martinis are cold and dry. We had a hot fudge sundae for dessert but there are great baked goods as well.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMall around perfect restaurantLinwoods is a restaurant the knows how to treat its customers and demonstrates on a daily basis that the customer is important. Add wonderful food, excellent service and it is a perfect place to enjoy good food and relax from the stress of the day. On this particular night we enjoyed the rockfish. This is a regular menu dish if fresh rockfish can be found. The preparation, however, makes it rise above the ordinary. It comes with a creamy risotto that is flavorful but does not overwhelm the mild fish. the mussels preparation has improved. While the mussels are not steamed in the sauce, at least the flavor is back.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AMCompletely wonderful mealTried some items out of the usual range and they were all terrific. Strongly recommend the new speakeasy cocktail, it is delicious and served in a really neat glass that adds to its charm. the seasonal butternut squash soup is smooth, wonderfully flavored and the bits of apple add a tiny crunch. as usual Linwoods will individualize your items. The spinach salad with blue cheese rather than feta is great! One of us had the pepper steak. The brandy sauce strikes a perfect balance between brandy, cream and pepper. the new rib item is full of delightful flavor. i had a larger portion as an entree and there was a LOT to eat. the chocolate espresso tart is the perfect ending to a wonderful meal with coffee. Barb is the best1/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner, go RavensGreat evening! there is a new cocktail called the Speakeasy. it is great, remarkably smooth and not too sweet. it is served in this neat glass that adds to the experience. i will definitely get it again. Speaking of another "get it again", the fried oysters are so good. they are crisp on the outside but you still know you are eating an oyster. All crunchy, no grease. the accompanying sauce really adds to the overall flavor. We had a pizza- just felt like the night to do it, the Ravens were winning and it was time for something lighter. We had the spinach and goat cheese. Really great! i love the crust on Linwoods pizza, i'd consider just having the crust it is so good. Wonderful evening, the new dessert mix is fun too1/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect holiday lunchThis afternoon I had lunch with 3 friends. Each of us ordered something totally different and each of us was delighted with our meal. One friend said, I love being in a restaurant where every thing is so good you can't decide. One friend had the prix fixed lunch and pronounced it just perfect. She said the tenderloin was cooked to perfection. Another friend had the steak sandwich, and after pronouncing she could never eat the whole thing- ate it all. Tuna filet sandwiches were perfect. The onion soup was rich with onion and overburdened with salt. Service was warm and spot on meeting diners needs1/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place never fails to pleaseDinner was excellent! These are some of the best cocktails in town and there are lots of wine by the glass choices that don't break the bank. We had the spinach and the Mediterranean salad and both were crisp and fresh and prepared as requested. the rockfish was very moist and flavorful and the tuna was prepared lower in spice as requested as well. the old fashioned sundae never fails to please. One of the many wonderful things about Linwoods is that they never blink an eye about splitting a dessert of an appetizer.12/28/2012 12:00:00 AMPerfect holiday mealSeveral new items on the menu and each one is a winner. You must try the new baby back ribs appetizer with the Asian inspired sauce. the meat fell off the ribs and the flavor was all through them. there is venison on the winter menu. It comes out beautifully plated and very tender. Again the sauce flavors through the meat, not just laid on top. There are new sides for the area's best crab cakes. One of them is a chow chow that is a spicy pickled combo of root veggies- great against the sweet crabmeat.
One of the new desserts is an orange ricotta cheesecake that my dinning companion rated one of the best ever. All of this great meal was served perfectly on a night that was Christmas Eve and the restaurant was very busy.12/24/2012 12:00:00 AMHadn't been to Linwoods inHadn't been to Linwoods in a long time. the menu had much more variety than in years' past. Service and food was exdcellent. Just booked it for a party of 10 for 2 weeks from now since it was so good!!!11/17/2012 12:00:00 AM
