I had the pad thai and it was decent. The chicken was charred from the wok and that flavor was tasted in the dish. Two other people at my table had the same issue.; Another person at the table got the salmon sashimi and sent it back. Overall, it was ok, but not somewhere we would seek out for lunch again.

Very nice place. Food reminded me of an upscale chain we go to at the mall, but not in a bad way. Huge space, friendly wait staff, also told us of the rooftop deck coming next year. We will be back for that!

Food and Service was outstanding. The flavors were amazing, I especially enjoyed that the meats were grilled and then stirfried. It made the whole meal worth coming back for. And the shrimp tempura sushi was simple but flavoraful. What a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday, good food, good friend. I will definately be back.

No sooner had we ordered, the server left and basically returned with our food. He confessed that the food comes out quickly and he was not wrong. I had the Evil Jungle Princess which was delicious. It's marked as Spicy Hot on the menu but was more Minnesota Spicy than anything. The restaurant has a very cool vibe, and I loved sitting on the upper level and being able to look out over the restaurant and the beautiful bar.

I like the idea of Ling & Louie's, and I like the way it looks. Someone put a lot of thought into theming the restaurant. I wish as much thought had gone into the menu. The pot stickers were good, but the Mongolian flatbread was terrible - the beef tasted off, it had way too much cilantro, the bread was underdone, and the orange sauce/dressing was a strange flavor. The beef & broccoli was a pleasant surprise, with the beef nicely seared and a good sauce. The service was good, with multiple servers checking in on us to make sure our drinks were topped off and we had what we needed. We had to ask for chopsticks for our pot stickers but our server remembered and supplied us with new ones when our main course arrived.

  • Where's the Copper?

Moscow mules but no copper mugs! Too expensive and they get stolen the waitress said! Bypass that and just get a decent white wine to paire with good Asian cuisine! The calamari was awesome but we were missing the special sauce although the dish was in the middle...no sauce. Once they brought it, terrific! We also ordered the firecracker with grilled chicken instead of fried...terrific. May only real complaint is that they just bring dishes out as ready rather than timing the appetizer, soup, entree, etc. Relatively new restaurant but think they have staying power with a couple improvements. Great vibe!

I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys delicious Asian food in a beautifully designed restaurant. Pot stickers came out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Outstanding! I had the lettuce wraps with pork - very tasty. Woman sitting next to me had the Thai grilled salmon that was sizzling on the plate when it came from the kitchen. She said it was excellent. It is your loss if you don't try out this new addition to Nicollet Mall.

Suggested we try L & L to our friends from out-of-town. We were seated immediately for our 7:15 reservation and greeted promptly. Our server was helpful and attentive all evening suggesting items from the appetizer and the entree sections. The scallops were outstanding! So much flavor and so many scallops. Granted they were not the huge ones but they were big enough to cut in half and the flavor was amazing. The shrimp noodle dish packed a punch of flavor, the Mongolian beef along with bowls of brown and white rice rounded off our dinner We had started with a crab crunch sushi roll and flat bread. Drinks and our entire dinner was moderately priced at $110... wait, were we really having a tasty, attentive dinner for 4 for $110 ?!?!?

All the food we had was wonderful. Nachos and sushi were awesome. Service was terrible, and that's something that just ruins it all for me. We waited 10 minutes for our cocktails and another 10 for our order to be taken. At one point, we watched our server on the kitchen line chatting with another employee, eating food!! Really? Clearly he was too busy to take our order....

Did this as a last minute reservation before the MnOrch concert, definitely a good move, they fill up fast on Friday nights. Food was acceptable, the blacked chicken in the one dish was a little closer to burned. We mentioned it to the waiter and then the manager came by and talked about it. She ended up comping the dish which was unexpected. Service was good an very prompt, we were done and paid with enough time for a leisurely was back to Orchestra Hall for the concert. We will consider this place again before one of the up coming Orchestra concerts.

We were able to get a last minute reservation for 7 PM. Not many other options available on a Saturday night downtown without planning ahead. Energy in Ling & Louie's was great. Service was very fast. Menu has plenty of good options. Don't worry about ordering something labeled as spicy...it is not. I ordered mine extra spicy and they just brought me extra hot sauce on the side. Food was good but nothing extra-ordinary. The dishes we had were light and not overly saucy like some Asian restaurants. We will go again.

I finally had time to stop in to Ling & Louie's recently and had an amazing experience! My boyfriend and I eat out A LOT. We really love Japanese cuisine and sushi spots, so we decided to try this new place out. Ling & Louie's is in a great part of downtown Minneapolis; it is vibrant and energetic yet still very sophisticated. The atmosphere is amazing, the bar is gorgeous designed and lit up, and there was a lot of energy in the room without being overwhelming or annoying. Our waitress was very observant and tended to us the perfect amount. We only tried a few appetizers to share, even though the whole menu looked appealing. They were delicious and we can't wait to try more of the menu! Great place for foodies or just a night out.

Dined over lunch which was very busy, as most restaurants are on Nicollet on a weekday. The food was good, but man the service was slow! It took over 10 minutes to get water and 10 minutes to flag our server down to order. The food came fast, which was good because it took us another 10 minutes, credit cards in hand, to get and pay our bill. I'm guessing the guy is new to serving or at least new to the restaurant, but he needed some more training before turning him loose.

Great location in downtown Minneapolis It's a great place for a group of friends after work or an evening out. Bar is colorful and attractive. Had potstickers and tuna roll for appetizer. Tuna roll was great; potstickers were just o.k. Had one of the noodle dishes - can't remember name and it was just o.k. Nothing special.

Nice place for a chain restaurant. However, the spice level indicated on their menu wasn't even close to being spicy. Myself and 2 others all ordered entrees that were supposed to be their spiciest/hottest - all 3 different entrees barely had any spice to them at all. Would go back again but wouldn't expect anything hot and spicy. Also a couple of the dishes ordered indicated chicken on the menu but they did not say the chicken was fried so I think they need to add alot more detail to their menu. My dish said it came with fresh vegetables (plural) and the only vegetable was fresh green beans. It was good but I expected more than one kind of vegetable.

The Server went to another table who was seated after we were and took their order, then forgot to put in one of the appetizer's we ordered which then came out with the meal. The Kung Pow entree was extremely bland (even though it was listed as spicy) and had to request some spice sauce for it but the Budda's Feast was outstanding as was the Banana Carmel Spring Roll.

I'd probably go back and try something different than what I ordered. My friends got sushi rolls and weren't that impressed. My food was a little smoky--like burnt oil in a too-hot wok. I hope they work out their kinks, because Minneapolis could use a fun Asian-fusion restaurant downtown that is affordable.

We sat at our table for about 20-25 minutes before anyone came over to the table. Then a guy stopped by and offered us water and asked if there was anything else we needed - we had to tell him, "a server." It was another 15 minutes before one got to us. When he did come, he said he would comp us our apps. When we got the bill, nothing was comped. We just paid and left. The food was good, but they need to staff accordingly.

As a new restaurant you expect some kinks but Ling and Louie has a lot to work on. #1: The waiter asked for our order before we got menus, 2. They brought the food before our drinks. 3. asked about dessert before we touched our meal. 4. Gave the check before we were done with the meal. It was a sloppy poorly executed experience. Ordered the sushi and it was grocery store level. No iced tea, the waiter forgot an order of wine...one glass of wine. I'll try it again but I'm skeptical.

I've only eaten here once, but enjoyed the experience and the menu looks good enough that I am anxious to try it again. Great looking space - but high ceilings, so I'm guessing that, if you're there with a crowd, it will be noisy. One in my group had a problem with her order - in the four or five minutes they took to bring her a new plate of food, several staff came over to apologize and they made sure she was good with the new plate. Overall, recommend!
