Line & LariatGreat find.I was looking for a downtown restaurant that was open on Sunday. I read the reviews in My Table magazine which were very good plus it was minutes away from our Sunday matinee show. Food was outstanding. I got the scallops and my husband got the bone in ribeye. Both done to perfection. We didn't have room for dessert but hope to sample them next time. Good food and excellent service.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed our overallWe really enjoyed our overall experience at Line and Lariat. The dining room is beautiful! The menu is a beautiful mix of Texas, Mexican and European influences. Oscar, our server, was fantastic. He was friendly, professional and informative. Truly a standout waiter! I loved my Icon Rajas Burger. The bun was fantastic and did not falter under the burger's fabulous ingredients. Our salads, The Icon Chopped and Icon Tomato were fresh, plentiful and very tasty. The only thing I am surprised about is the Icon's wine list. Most of the selection is just OK. With the caliber of food being served I would have loved to have seen a more thoughtful wine list. The Saint Arnold's Icon on draft and Formula 2 Martini made up for a so so wine list.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat choice!Line & Lariat is relaxed elegance. Food was wonderful and fancy, service was friendly and superb. What more could you ask for?! I will definitely be back!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen the waiter did not knowWhen the waiter did not know the answer to a question we had, instead of making something up he asked about it and brought us the correct information. We appreciated that.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find in Downtown HoustonWe rarely eat at Hotel restaurants...this was a pleasant find. Excellent food. Reasonable price. You can eat "big" or "small". Nice choices. Friendly service. Very tasty food! Nice bar for a drink before dinner or anytime..."generous" pour on the wine and drink! $5 bar bites which were excellent...from 4 or 5 to 11 pm. We will be back!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLine and Lariat is a greatLine and Lariat is a great place for wonderful food. There weer no lows - the meats (wild boar and antelope) were terrific, as were the sides and starts. We recommend the sausage appetizer plate, particularly for a group. The hotel is beautiful and the dining room is a real pleasure to look at. The service was not on par with the meal and the surroundings - the service was relatively amateurish and inconsistent (drinks can take some time - order before you're ready for the next cocktail!) The music mix left something to be desired, but overall a great experience.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDining at Line and LariatDining at Line and Lariat was a revelation. The thing about hotel restaurants is that primarily hotel guests partake, but this place is a destination on its own. It certainly helps that the hotel is stunning, but so is the food. The service from busboy to manager was first rate. Everything I ate was exceptional without being pretentious or overdone. The campechana was a great, light first course. The entrees were hearty, but very subtly flavored. My shrimp and grits were so well seasoned. In fact, the sauteed spinach might have been the best part, which speaks volumes to the thought behind the flavors. Dessert for me was a bread pudding with cherries and chocolate in a cast iron vessel. Highly recommend.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to Line and Lariat forWent to Line and Lariat for Easter Brunch. Pricey, but well set-up with great selection. Oscar was a very attentive waiter and we were never left wanting for anything. Beautiful decor as it is nestled in Hotel Icon. Valet parking pretty much a necessity. Would definitely go to L&L again!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMwe enjoyed the meal very much!we enjoyed the meal very much!
