A word from Lincoln Ristorante
At Lincoln Ristorante, we offer our interpretation of modern Italian cuisine in New York at Lincoln Center. Our philosophy is simple: to source the best local ingredients and prepare them with authentic Italian methods and spirit. While our location beside Lincoln Center’s reflecting pool is exquisite, with panoramic views and a grass lawn roof, the heart of our restaurant is the central open kitchen.

The menu offers our take on traditional preparations ranging from spaghetti al pomodoro to vitello tonnato and simply grilled branzino. Antipasti coax rustic ingredients into dishes with deep, savory flavors. Desserts are beautiful renditions of Italy’s classics: light, lush and irresistible.

While reservations are recommended to ensure a table, walk-ins are welcome at our bar where the full menu is served. We are open seven days a week offering lunch, pre-theater, dinner and weekend brunch.

Diner Reviews
  • "Exceptional wine list and food. The service and special attention to detail; to specific dietary needs is the best in New York City. Many wonderful servers here but Dave is the best."

  • "From the fresh insalata to the flavorful seafood zuppa, this restaurant gets it right on all the Italian notes, including the wine list. Staff is efficient, unobtrusive and willing to offer useful suggestions as in replacing a mildly oaked Saivignon Blanc with one that had a more mineral balance and complemented the zuppa much better. The cheese plate for desert with the apricot mustard was a pleasant highlight along with a smooth glass of Dindarello. Kudos to Chef Jonathan Benno. I will be back!"

  • "We live on the premises of Lincoln Center but have never been to Lincoln. With tickets to the Bolshoi we decided to try it and we are so glad we did. The service, the surroundings and above all the food were the best. I can't recommend Lincoln too highly. A visit to New York would not Nobel complete without a trip to Lincoln. You won't be disappointed."

  • "Always go for the prix fixe! All the food is great. Salads are fantastic and the pasta is always amazing! Food is consistently great. A nice treat for after theater."

  • "Incredable salumi appetizer and hand cut spaghetti ala chitarra, and followed by a cassata to die for."

  • "Have eaten here frequently and this Sunday brunch was (as expected) excellent. Staff are professional, attentive without hovering, knowledgeable. Food and drinks prepared with care. Quiet dining room--a rarity nowadays!"

  • "Went for brunch on a summer Sunday. Beautiful in every way, from the attentive, dignified service, to the wonderful quiet afforded by low, unobtrusive jazz playing in the background, to the views out onto the Lincoln Center campus, to the color palette of the restaurant design. Outstanding in every way and I can't wait to return."

  • "We really enjoyed the place. Quiet, nice, large terrasse... But unfortunately the service was at first extremely formal and to finish a bit rude. They forgot to bring one of our dessert and when we asked for it (one of our guest had already finished his dessert), they said they knew and where about to bring it. A few minutes later we decided to cancel the missing dessert and the lady explained in an extremely strong manner they would bring it anyway ... she turned back and sighed"

  • "Chef Adam is a culinary genius and the service was amazing. Very romantic setting and great location. Favorite items: Burrata E Lampascioni (mint salsa verde was incredible), Bistecca, and white espresso gelato. We tried 3 pastas and decided you can't really go wrong no matter the selection. Overall great experience and best meal of the trip."

  • "Located conveniently off the square at Lincoln Center near the arts centers and across the street from Juilliard, we found the glass-walled restaurant excellent and accommodating. I opted for the tuna salad appetizer, a big eye tuna main dish, an eggplant, and squash parmigiana side, and for dessert had the Cassata Sicliana, a wonderful gelato and sorbet 'cake' that I highly recommend. My wife had the Sicilian lettuce salad and the gnudi main course, but skipped dessert. My wife spied an Aperol mixed drink, one of her favorites, and the hostess noting this recommended the Cappelletti Specialino Aperitivo, while I had the Manhattan. All in all, it was a wonderful meal with excellent service in a relaxed environment."

  • "This is a wonderful restaurant in an extremely convenient place for access to Lincoln Center, but it is quite pricey."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "Great Lincoln Center location featuring well spaced tables: a good place to dine and converse without having to raise your voice! Features a concise menu, although some items had flavors which could be more delicate, e.g., the saffron in the Zuppa alla Tarantina, the tomato reduction under the Branzino cotto All'Olio, the lemon in the greens under the Poletto al Mattone. Overall dishes were nicely plated and the many fresh vegetables used were particularly noteworthy and welcome. Also, a well rounded wine list."

  • "Once again, Lincoln proved to be an elegant, highly civilized, and sensual experience. The basil under the ricotta cheese cake was a memorable touch. It's not the restaurant's fault, but the screaming toddler near us did disturb; still, the circular banquette, which the restaurant was kind enough to give us, served as an effective buffer."

  • "Finally tried Lincoln and found it great. Informed attentive service, original delicious light food, great space with beautiful night views out over Lincoln Center, somewhat dull crowd (but at the prices I guess that might be expected). Will definitely go again."

  • "Absolutely one of our very favorite restaurants in the city. The ambience, the food and the service are truly outstanding. It is the BEST of the Lincoln Center area restaurants BY A MILE."

  • "All the food service at Lincoln Center has improved dramatically in recent years and this is the flagship. A good wine list if a bit pricey."

  • "I had the mozzarella with tomoato and hyacinth. The waiter really needs to warn you that the sauce on the hyacinth is HOT! The outdoor seating is amazing though. It's a quiet respite, off the street, and well shaded for hot summer days."

  • "Great food and wonderful staff. Can't wait to return!"

  • "Good place to eat if you're attending an event at Lincoln Center. Beautiful modern architecture and interior design. Food is excellent and pricey (to be expected given its location)."

  • "Great prix fixe menu, wonderful selections. Attentive and congenial service. Definitely not just for dinner before a Lincoln Center event."

  • "Pros; Location; Gorgeous! Building: Beautiful, sleek, clean and unique. Service: Friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. Dessert: Best cheesecake I've ever had, and plated perfectly with delicious fresh mini strawberries. Also loved the chocolate hazelnut gelato. Table: Fun "people watching" thru the spotless walls of glass. The chairs are very comfortable and they spin. I will defiantly return. Cons; Tables: Way too close together... so much so we had conversations with both parties on either side of us. Entrée: Reginette Verdi al Rag'u Bolognese, too heavy, bland, not enough sauce, pasta too thick, as a small side dish I may have enjoyed it more. I miss a white tablecloth at dinner."

  • "My son (23 years old) and I had a wonderful time at the Lincoln. It was uncluttered, modern and relaxing. The tables were quite close, but they were set so that it never felt crowded. It was a summer evening, so I watched the children playing in the water pools at Lincoln Center, while my son watched the open kitchen. I loved the assorted mushrooms, and his favorite was the lobster pasta. We loved both the cheesecake and the sorbet for dessert. The service was wonderful. The location could not have been more perfect as we were headed to the ballet."

  • "Wonderful atmosphere, but food was terrible. Too salty and chicken was not cooked well. Waiter didn't ask for us if we wanted another bottle of water...we didn't want the second bottle at all, but he opened without asking. They charged 2 bottles of water. Coffee didn't taste good! At least We wanted to drink a good cup of coffee. This restaurant bring my tensions down. Love the architect who design the restaurant. Please change the chef!"

  • "Not at all an inexpensive meal, but the food was excellent, the service attentive, and the atmosphere comfortable. I'm not going to eat here regularly but I certainly would go back."

  • "The service and atmosphere was wonderful. However, the food was horrible. Cocktail was fine. We will not be coming back. Totally disappointed."

  • "I took a friend out for lunch before a play at Lincoln center. The restaurant is beautiful. Specially the tables overlooking the moore sculpture. The service is great amd so is the ambience. I found the portion size too small and the price too high."

  • "Pleasant, friendly, good food. Jennifer our waitress was excellent and the other wait staff was attentive and pleasant. I had the salad & chicken and found it excellent. My sister also had the same. We were not rushed and had told our waitress Jennifer that we were attending the ballet at 2.00 P.M. We had a leisurely lunch and made the ballet on time. I did not realize that I had left my reading glasses on the table and fortunately for me the Lincoln had my cell phone # and called & left me a message."

  • "This was not our first time at Lincoln Ristorante. We have been here several times with and without friends for dinner and drinks. It is truly a special place. We went again to celebrate a special anniversary. As always, the service was impeccable, the food outstanding and the ambience quite romantic. While my wife ordered an appetizer and a Primi, I indulged in the prix fix 4 course tasting (which included a dessert we both shared). Every dish was presented beautifully and tasted sublime. If you have a special occasion or are just in the mood to have a lovely and relaxing evening of food and drink, this is the place to go!"

  • "Was leery of Lincoln Restaurant as I was afraid it was just going to coast on its Lincoln Center location. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was quite good -- innovative Italian -- and the wine list was interesting to boot (love the Prosecco bar). But the stars of the evening were the wait staff. They honestly could not have been nicer, were knowledgeable enough to answer all our questions and make recommendations and were just generally welcoming. I'd definitely go again."

  • "Our group of 6 dined at Lincoln on Sunday for lunch to celebrate two birthdays. Everything about our dining experience was outstanding, the food, the wine, the service and the atmosphere . Each and everyone at the table felt the same way. Many of us had the two pasta sampler all outstanding and delicious. We were seated in a lovely round table with a view of the reflecting pool in the Lincoln Center Plaza. Our waitress was friendly and professional, with staff even offering to go outside and take a picture of our group in front of the sculpture. I highly recommend Lincoln when dining in the Lincoln Center area. We can hardly wait to return."

  • "We had Sunday Brunch prior to seeing a show at Lincoln Center Theatre. We found that the servers were friendly, respectful, knowledgeable and available. The Prosecco cocktails were elegant and delicious. The two course brunch was amazing all around. Between the two of us we had four plates that were faultless. The wine suggestion was perfect as well. Homemade candies with coffee ended the meal delightfully."

  • "We returned to Lincoln and expected exciting food. Four ladies availed of the set brunch. The primi selection was great. The pasta with lobster was hearty and tasty. The secondi sea bass entree was bland but presented artfully. We ordered the chocolate dessert to share. It was to die for. Excellent service. Little candy bites at the end were a real treat as we were off to watch the ballet. It is the most convenient place to dine before attending a show at Lincoln Center."

  • "Lincoln Ristorante is a great place for a Saturday or Sunday brunch, particularly in the summer time when you can sit outdoors. The menu is a delight. The service is impeccable. While the price makes this a rare treat, the experience is unrushed and completely worth it."

  • "My favorite NYC restaurant. Every meal I've had here has been excellent. The wait staff is unusually welcoming, making me very comfortable, unlike so many other places in the city. My waiter Joe went so far as to make note of operas that I might enjoy when he found out I was interested. The spaghetti with clams was so great that I'm going back this week to have it again! I highly recommend The Lincoln to anyone who loves inventive, well prepared food and who appreciates outstanding service."

  • "Lincoln boasts impeccable food, a trendy-yet-understated atmosphere, and outstanding service. There's nothing quite like fine dining in Lincoln Center, with the spectacular views of the Metropolitan Opera House over the Milstein Pool. The food is amongst the best Italian you can find in the city, which warrants a first trip...and a second...and a third...and so on."

  • "Its major virtue is proximity to Lincoln Center. The menu is limited and everything about the restaurant screams pretension."

  • "Excellent food and great service in a unique and attractive setting."

  • "This is a perfect venue for dining before a performance at Lincoln Centre. Can't think of a single thing to complain about. Everything was perfect, especially the service, which is very attentive without being obtrusive. My waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and had some very good recommendations. All in all, a very memorable dining experience."
