A word from Lincoln Ristorante
At Lincoln Ristorante, we offer our interpretation of modern Italian cuisine in New York at Lincoln Center. Our philosophy is simple: to source the best local ingredients and prepare them with authentic Italian methods and spirit. While our location beside Lincoln Center’s reflecting pool is exquisite, with panoramic views and a grass lawn roof, the heart of our restaurant is the central open kitchen.

The menu offers our take on traditional preparations ranging from spaghetti al pomodoro to vitello tonnato and simply grilled branzino. Antipasti coax rustic ingredients into dishes with deep, savory flavors. Desserts are beautiful renditions of Italy’s classics: light, lush and irresistible.

While reservations are recommended to ensure a table, walk-ins are welcome at our bar where the full menu is served. We are open seven days a week offering lunch, pre-theater, dinner and weekend brunch.

Second time at this sleek, modern Lincoln Center, open kitchen restaurant. The layout and ambiance are gorgeous. Pool view is more desirable than Julliard School view but booths are perfect for quiet conversation. Food courses are innovative and extremely well prepared. Wine pairing for prix fixe is very much worth the effort and $s. Service is ok but bumbles around a bit ( frequently attempts to clear before all are finished) and wait between courses is annoyingly long.

We have been to The Lincoln a half dozen times and it is now our "go to" for special occasions and visitors. Food is constantly outstanding and plenty of great choices for vegetarians. The eggplant alone is worth the visit.

Prior to ordering at our 6PM arrival, we advised the service staff of the curtain time at 7:30 PM. The main course did not arrive until 7:05PM and the hostess was arrogant when we reminded her that we had little time before the curtain. The wine list is very expensive, however, the "wine steward" was pleasant and fairly knowledgeable. The dinner menu is small and also expensive. With so many good and accessible restaurants around Lincoln Center, patrons have many choices--this is NOT high on my list.

This place has a fabulous interior, friendly servers, a superb wine list and sommelier, and food that is inconsistent, ranging from excellent to only pretty good. The menu is small, so unless you stick to the greats, you can be disappointed. My pork chop was mediocre, for instance, but steak very good.

WE WERE VERY HAPPY DINING AT LINCOLN. THE FOOD IS CREATIVE AND DELICIOUS. THE DECOR IS BEAUTIFUL, SIMPLE, ELEGANT. THE SERVICE AND HOSPITALITY WERE EXCELLENT! THE ONLY COMPLAINT WE HAVE IS THAT THE WINES BY THE GLASS WERE UNDISTINGUIISED AND PRICEY. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR NEXT VISIT.

Amazing food, artistically presented, yet good sized portions with outstanding flavors. We sat outside on a late summer night, right by the reflecting pool at Lincoln center...beautiful scenery. We even brought our 3 year old daughter, and the staff was very accommodating. One of the best meals we've eaten in the city in years.

We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Lincoln which is in the plaza in Lincoln Center and has big picture windows overlooking all pedestrian action as well as a lovely pool and sculpture. The architecture of the restaurant and the interior design are fabulous and part of the dining experience. There were two of us dining, the food was excellent, the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that my husbands steak was not as good as it should have been. That being said, go to Lincoln for the regional specialties and the pastas, that is what they do exceedingly well. Service was exceptional. We will go back many times.

Lincoln is a beautiful restaurant, and is especially so outside on a nice summer night. But the service was a bit uneven. The gentleman serving bread, etc., was great. The waitress, not so. When she told me they couldn't keep the shrimp out of the grilled octopus appetizer (due to an allergy), I asked her to come back in two minutes to take our order. But after 15 minutes or so she had not returned, so I had to flag down another waitress to take our order. Service was slow throughout the night--not what you'd expect here, since in the past it's been very attentive. Also, the pork chop was very tough and disappointing. The menu is limited--they need to add some specials so you don't have to pick from the same few choices every time.

A disappointing meal at a generally stellar restaurant. Service was off at our al fresco table on a recent summer night. At one point, my dinner guest said "I feel like we're invisible!" The kitchen also seemed to be off stride. From the three-course tasting menu, only the appetizer (poached tuna) was up to the reputation and price point of Lincoln. I hope this was an exception (and not a trend) to what has previously been an outstanding dining experience.

I agree with other reviewers that most tables afford a wonderful view, we had one right in front of the open kitchen (which is glassed in to afford views but keep the noise down). Lincoln center is gorgeous on a summer night. Food was wonderful, not 100% but very close, and great desserts. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

We were in the city over Labor Day weekend so were able to dine last minute at Lincoln (usually it's booked well ahead of time). We ate outside, listening to a rebroadcast of last season's opera Don Pasquale via huge screen TV on the Lincoln Center plaza. It was lovely. I will say that Lincoln is for adventurous eaters (somewhat limited menu, some unusual ingredients and ingredient pairing). The food was delicious though, timing was right (we were even asked if we would like our coffee with, before or after dessert) and service was great with lots of staff. We will definitely eat here again.

For coziness and beauty, this place can't be beat. The staff is very sweet, too. The service can be a bit overbearing in fussiness and formality, which is not one of my preferred experiences. I want to relax and have good food; I don't need people trying to impress me or flatter me. After two separate dining experiences here, with a different menu each time, I have to say the food just doesn't live up to the ambiance. It's not bad ... it's just not great.

From the approach of the wait staff to the menu itself, subtle and confident describes this wonderful restaurant. Refined but not arrogant, the Lincoln is simply a wonderful and classy location with great ambience set among some of the world’s best venues for the performing arts. Little surprises during dinner such as a complimentary starter and a "sweet parting gift" at the end of the meal add to the allure. Highly recommend this location.

The food was very much hit or miss, some dishes were very good while others were not nearly as successful. Fruit on plates was shockingly unripe! The desserts were entertaining but not in a positive way. Expected a fine dining restaurant with fine dining service, but service was more on par with a casual restaurant. Very much lacking.

Love this place. Artisanal cocktails unique and refreshing. 4 course $75 prix fixe, allowing full menu choices, feels like a steal. Freshest buffalo mozzarella, juiciest heirloom tomatoes, mint salsa were a divine appetizer. Pasta (and they have gluten free!) with sausage, smoked caciocavallo, and other treasures, was to-die-for. Fish entrée with seafood in broth, simple but still very good. Their take on "tartufo" is the piece de resistance. It should NEVER come off the menu! I can't adequately describe it. Chocolate hazelnut heaven, custard and cream under hot fudge poured at table with sliced sauced cherries on the side sounds so ineffective as description. I would almost kill for an order of it right now.

Lincoln is a must do restaurant on the plaza level of Lincoln Center to the sides of Avery Fisher Hall and the Metropolitan Opera. The inside rooms are handsome and spacious. Service is always gracious, thoughtful and efficient. Food is very good to excellent. In summer there also is outdoor dining overlooking the Henry Moore sculpture in the Milstein pool. There are no cars, hordes of people, cranky children in strollers. We enjoyed a relaxing Saturday lunch and plan to return at least twice more this season. The salumi, Mercado salad, striped bass and pasta with mushroom and pork ragu were memorable. We opted for dessert and devoured the white espresso and chocolate gelati and the fig sorbet. Summer weekends in NYC can be glorious.

We have eaten dinner a the Lincoln restaurant several times and always enjoyed it. However, my experience at lunch during restaurant week was disappointing to say the least. The first course of salumi was excessively fatty. My fish soup was fishy! And the creamy berry cake was dry. Walk into Lincoln and you feel comfortable, almost at home - you are greeted warmly by host and hostess at the door. You are led to a great table - I don't know of a bad one in the restaurant. Our view was of the pool in the plaza with the Henry Moore in the center. Stunning. Avery Fisher Hall to one side and The Met across the pool. This is why I love New York. Add Lincoln to that list of whys. Service is impeccable - but again, no attitude, no rush. The food - outstanding. We did a three course menu selection. My tuna was beautifully done. The lobster and shrimp ravioli were delicious. The Burrata and Heirloom Tomato Salad was served on a pesto base. The wine list is superb. The wines by the glass are well chosen.
