A word from Lincoln Ristorante
At Lincoln Ristorante, we offer our interpretation of modern Italian cuisine in New York at Lincoln Center. Our philosophy is simple: to source the best local ingredients and prepare them with authentic Italian methods and spirit. While our location beside Lincoln Center’s reflecting pool is exquisite, with panoramic views and a grass lawn roof, the heart of our restaurant is the central open kitchen.

The menu offers our take on traditional preparations ranging from spaghetti al pomodoro to vitello tonnato and simply grilled branzino. Antipasti coax rustic ingredients into dishes with deep, savory flavors. Desserts are beautiful renditions of Italy’s classics: light, lush and irresistible.

While reservations are recommended to ensure a table, walk-ins are welcome at our bar where the full menu is served. We are open seven days a week offering lunch, pre-theater, dinner and weekend brunch.

Diner Reviews
  • "We dined at LINCOLN before the Opera asking for the chef to prepare something vegan for us. We are NEVER disappointed here. The pacing of dinner was perfect to not be rushed for a performance and our waiters were attentive and gave us service as if we were the only ones in the restaurant. We love dining at LINCOLN and will return again and again."

  • "Went here for brunch on Sunday. Pricey but good options for the Prix Fixe offering. We had the Mare Salad, Burrata, Garganelli and Crepes and Eggs. All were excellent but the last two especially stood out. Restaurant was not busy at all--I assume it does most of it's business before shows. All glass walls give a great view outside and create a bright atmosphere. Service was attentive and various staff bring out samples of other items to you during your meal."

  • "Something seriously off with the chef.. Overuse of salt on everything, Spices crop up without warning. 3 out of four of us hated our food. Staff couldn't have been nicer, but until they do some serious rethinking of menu (or chef) won't be back"

  • "The food at Lincoln is truly amazing. I've dined here many times and it's perfect every time. Great, hard working, knowledgeable staff. Love the open kitchen. Dining in the middle of Lincoln Center in a truly great restaurant is a perfect experience."

  • "A lovely restaurant in the heart of Lincoln center for special occasions even if you are not attending a performance. Accommodating, great food, superb service. The weekday lunch is a good value and a real treat."

  • "Lincoln was an excellent choice to celebrate my daughters birthday - very close to the Opera House - wonderful food - everything we were hoping for."

  • "This restaurant never disappoints. It is so beautiful, the service is not over the top, it's perfect, friendly and the food is especially excellent."

  • "What a great addition to Lincoln center. This restaurant is as gracious and special as the culture represented in the buildings it looks out on. Our food was excellent and there was no problem with sharing dishes - they even split the dishes in the kitchen which is something many restaurants won't . The food was as good as the presentation which is not always the case these days. We wanted to taste each plate we ordered hence the sharing. The salads were freshly made. The duck was melt in your mouth tender. The velvet cake was not too sweet and perfectly proportioned. The service was impeccable and FRIENDLY! Something one doesn't expect from NYC restaurants. The view out onto the courtyard is very special. A wonderful restaurant!"

  • "Lincoln Ristorante is a tourist trap. Mediocre food but nice ambience. The staff was literally chugging bottles of wine without caring as to who is watching them. The wine recommendation was far from good. Coming from the hospitality background I would rate this restaurant 3-4 stars at tops."

  • "Great negroni bar options -- design your own! Food was half the price of any other fine dining restaurant in NYC that serves food of the same quality and exceptional taste -- even the endive was incredibly flavorful!!!"

  • "Came there for an early dinner before MET. Great Italian food, nice private ambience and the service was perfectly harmonized with our curtain. Next time I will definitely go there again."

  • "A very good, but pricey, pre-event Lincoln Center meal."

  • "We dined at Lincoln before going to a play at Lincoln Center. We were given a gift card for the restaurant by our daughter and were very impressed by the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was outstanding. We opted for the 4 course pri- fix dinner which was more than enough food and on a future visit would either order al la carte or go for the 3 course pre-fix option. All in all we had a great meal and will look to return again."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "We enjoyed the 4-course prix-fixe and were not disappointed in any plate served. This is a very elegant restaurant and great care is shown in all of their dishes."

  • "Beautiful restaurant and there are many friendly servers that are on top of things until they get busy. Typical where they bring the first two courses out too fast and then they get lost for the third course and the bill. Food not to our tasting -- either bland or the mix of ingredients do not blend well. Both times there tried several different items and not one was very tasty. Grand Tier Restaurant at the Met may get boring but at least the food tastes good giving you the desire to want to go back."

  • "From asking if we had any food sensitivities to recommending beverages, from accommodating our early arrival to reminding us of our curtain time.... the attention to detail here was incredible. The wait staff is attentive without being overly so. The food was incredible... and when we wavered over choices of apps, the server suggested that the kitchen divide the plates for us. Not only was the food delicious, but the presentation was amazing. Very well done."

  • "Of course Lincoln is an obvious choice for a pre-opera dinner if it's a night that you can get in or think far enough in advance to get reservations. Our opera subscription this year was Mondays and they are not as heavily trafficked for restaurants (Mondays are the lightest night of the week at restaurants) so it was actually very quiet when we were there. Perhaps that helped but I think the service would have been great anyway. The food was very good, the proximity to anything at Lincoln Center is of course unbeatable."

  • "We've been to the Lincoln many times but this was not a good experience. We explained, when booking the reservation, that we had a 7:30 curtain, and we needed to be finished and out by 7:15. Everyone agreed that this was not a problem; we were at the restaurant early enough. All went well, but the waiter seemed to lose interest or attention as time went on. We became worried as 7pm neared, and finally got out at 7:25 or so…barely made it to the opera house. We will return to the Lincoln because it is good food, great location and we are at the opera and other Lincoln Center often. But if the timing is ever as egregious as it was this time, we will return again."

  • "The food was delicious, and the staff was very attentive. We dined here before attending the opera, and they made sure we both had time to enjoy our meal and to make it to the theater on time."

  • "This was my fourth time to Lincoln Ristorante this year, which has proven to be a hit-or-miss venue. This time, definitely a hit. This dinner was to entertain a visitor spending a few days with my company, so we wanted a relaxed, scenic place with good food. This night was on the slower side, so we were offered a table next to two glass walls looking out over Lincoln Center, great for showing off this New York landmark. Sometimes odd combinations or overly ambitious pairings of ingredients don't work out well, but this time, our dishes offered a sufficiently inspired mix of ingredients and good execution. We consulted the sommelier, and were not disappointed; a strong and uncomplicated selection. Great work folks!"

  • "Lovely setting, terrific service. Interesting menu. Food just awful. Starters were weird and entrees poorly executed. Lasagna cold in the middle, no flavor at all--cheese looked and tasted as if it had been frozen. Very disappointing. Desserts are decent."

  • "For a beautifully presented, innovative pre-event meal, this is the place to be. Service is attentive, not intrusive and location convenient for any LC event. Recommended."

  • "The building and the setting of the restaurant were fantastic. It was a very relaxing visit. Service was very good. I thought the menu was very limited. I was surprised since there were so few selections that there were no specials. I had a nice salad with grilled shrimp to begin . It was good. My main course was a little disappointing. I'm not used to being asked how well done I wished my pork chop to be, so I probably ruined my dinner by saying "medium well". The chop was over done and the beans in the sauce were undercooked. My husbands caesar salad and trout were fine. Don't know if I'll return."

  • "This was my first visit to the Ristorante, and it was over all a truly great experience. The food was outstanding! The service very attentive and relaxed. A great lunch experience on a rainy weekend... I'll be back for dinner soon."

  • "Lincoln magically blends food, service, and ambiance to create a harmonious dining experience. A new tasting menu allows the opportunity to try three or four courses of the delicious modern Italian food at a very reasonable price. A perfect place to dine on the Upper West Side. The prosecco and Negroni bars and wine list are exceptional."

  • "The food and the ambience were quite good and, as it is close to the Met, we were expecting that it would suitable for an after opera dinning. However, and this was the only stain for a very nice evening, the service gave the impression that they want to get us out of the restaurant as soon as possible, which is not pleasant for a high class restaurant that accepts reservations for 10h15 PM."
    Dined on 3/26/2014
  • "The quiet booths private an intimacy for both conversation and dinning. The pastas are terrific and can be shared. There are some reasonably priced good wine to be found within the extensive list."

  • "The restaurant is a lovely spot at Lincoln Center. The interior and view are beautiful The wait staff was extremely attentive. The food was delicious. However, portions were very small and prices were high. It was $200 for two persons. We each had one glass of wine. My friend had three courses and I had one course. Given the location, I understand the prices. However, there are other options in the neighborhood that may be a better value."

  • "Since Lincoln opened it's doors in 2009, it has been my favorite upscale restaurant in my neighborhood. The food and service is always perfection and it is quiet, elegant and a great place to go before any event at Lincoln center. Chef Benno's pastas are inventive and delicious. Yesterday I had I had a chili infused tagliatelle with clams that was pure heaven!! In the summer, there are a few outdoor tables which offer a great view of the reflecting pool and the opera house beyond. The bar too, is always lively and Aaron Von Rock, the sommelier, has compiled a fabulous wine and cocktail list. Although not inexpensive, the prices are reasonable for the food and atmosphere. I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful restaurant!!!!"

  • "I'm a vegan. In the menu there is no anything vegan dishes, but My waiter does it for me. All were very kindly and want to do my dinner is amazing. Thank's a lot!"

  • "What I love about this place, besides the great view of Juilliard, the wonderful food and service, is that we were asked right from the start what our time needs were. And they got us out right on time with lovely candies and pastries, gratis!"

  • "Expensive, but worth it. Calm atmosphere, solicitous service and WONDERFUL food."

  • "We greatly enjoyed dining at Lincoln. Both the food and the service were very good. It was a perfect ending to our day at Lincoln Center."

  • "we loved it but the kids would have enjoyed individual pizzas, pasta with olive oil, and simpler desserts and didn't care for the interesting seasonings and unusual flavorings, although they loved the bread, and there must have been six kids in our side of the restaurant when we were there but there was no great loss as we took the leftovers home in a doggie bag for my husband to have at home the next day"
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "Quite enough to have a wonderful after performance dinner/meeting. Excellent food. Fast service that was both attentive yet unobtrusive. I cannot praise this place enough."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Chef seems to have confused sophisticated cooking with the merely bizarre. There is NO evident connection to Italian food. This is a big comedown from the previous meals we've enjoyed here, 'tho consistency has not been Lincoln's strong suit (too many changes in the kitchen?). If you prefer strongly sour, bitter and salty food, you might like it. But the chicken, apparently a fine little free-range specimen when alive, was grilled beyond recognition, over-brined and very dry. Gelatos tasting of nothing I associate with dessert - in fact not a clue as to what the flavors were."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "This restaurant did not meet my expectations at all. The food was subpar, nothing amazing or spectacular. The only plus was the proximity to Lincoln Center if you're going to see a performance, which most people are."
