Lincoln RestaurantOutstanding ServiceFrom the moment my husband and I walked in until we left, we felt welcomed by the very friendly staff. Our waitress was exceptionally helpful giving us different suggestions. We started with a light salad served with bruschetta. The salad had a nice dressing with a hint of lemon. The bruschetta was excellent. Although the portion was a little small for the price, I would still order it again. We both ordered the three samplings of gnocchi that were paired with wine. Although we like all three samplings, our favorite was the one with the morel mushrooms. All three wines were perfect. I finished the meal with a delicious, home-made limoncello. Everyone was SO friendly I wanted hugs when I left. No pretension, just great food and kind people. THREE members of the staff helped devise a list of other spots my friend and I needed to check out while in Portland. And anyone who can make rabbit that well knows what they're doing in the kitchen. This appetizer is a perfect example... The Bone Marrow with Crispy Sweetbreads was smooth and rich, unctuous and irresistible. Dipping a crispy sweetbread into the marrow was an added treat. I say 'kid-friendly' because they do offer a bowl of pasta with butter and cheese for kids but other than that, there is no kids menu. My 9 year old had the pasta and the grilled octopus appetizer. She LOVED all of hers plus my quail. She is not a picky eater and I wouldn't bring one here. There were 8 of us and it was a great table for 8. We had a vegetarian in the mix loved hers as well. We had the kale salad - yummo - and the blood orange salad was equally tasty. The lamb chop put others to shame. And you absolutely have to try the onion rings.
