Diner Reviews
  • "This restaurant came recommended but even though there were very few people in the place, we found the service to be slow and inattentive. The server explained the "concept" of the restaurant, small plates, free flow from the kitchen, etc. but could not find her way back to bring wine or water. That said, the food when it finally arrived was very good. 3 or 4 small plates per person is about right."

  • "Great food. Great Service. Fun setting and atmosphere. We really enjoyed our experience."

  • "The food here is really good and plays into the restaurant's theme well. The Lincoln Burger is really good and I heard that the grilled cheese and salads are excellent as well."

  • "The food and service were both great. My wife enjoyed the wine that our waiter recommended, and I really liked the Lincon Sour, one of their signature cocktails."

  • "Our first vist. Went for Restaurant Week. Very good deal 4 courses for $35. Food was very good (slab of pork belly BLT, brussel sprouts with peaches and candied pecans, roasted bone marrow, short rib, and citrus doughnuts). Service was good too (our waiter was Alexander). Good drinks (Madame or Lady Lincoln - elderflower essence or liqueur, prosecco, lemon and lavender). Cool decor of all things Lincoln (wall of pennies, modern takes on Lincoln portraits, hot pink neon wall of Lincoln writings). Sidewalk tables, large bar, happy hour and all you can drink brunch ($39). We'll definitely go back! Wish it was closer to where we live and work. Nearest metro is McPherson so the area is very quiet on the weekends since offices are closed."

  • "The brunch menu has a creative play on traditional breakfast favorites. I'll be back to sample the dinner selections."

  • "I took my Mom here for brunch and it was amazing! We both chose to do the unlimited waffle and omelet station that came with 2 sides, fresh fruit and unlimited mimosas, bellini's and bloody mary's. The chef station lines were not long and even though it was unlimited he took his time with every omelet and waffle. Great choice of sides. The grits were the best that I have ever had! Another great perk was they had chicken and turkey for the non-pork eaters. I will definitely be back soon!"

  • "The food was mediocre on the whole (although the pulled pork ribs were delicious). The major problem I had was with the service. The wait staff barely gave us time to finish a course before they swooped in and replaced our dish with the next course immediately. The whole event felt rushed and forced."

  • "The service and food were very good. My only comment was the risotto was VERY salty (I know it's supposed to be a little salty) I really appreciated the variety of options on the restaurant week menu - our family shared so we all got to try some great food. Our waitress (sorry do not recall name: blond with thick accent) was great. Thanks for a fun night out"

  • "I was very pleased with the service and the food was phenomenal ! I would recommend Lincoln too everyone."

  • "Great deal! They serve small plates, so they gave us four courses instead of the normal three. Service was excellent and the food was to die for. We will be returning."

  • "I went here for lunch during DC restaurant week with a few coworkers. We were seated right away and the service was attentive. The menu looked awesome and the choices on the RW menu were a good sampling. We enjoyed all three courses, especially the brussel sprout appetizer. I would definitely come back again for dinner and try another assortment from the menu."

  • "Delicious food, but let's just say my pulled pork grilled cheese did not leave my stomach feeling happy hours later. I realize this was a restaurant week lunch, but the restaurant seemed ill-prepared and service was slow."

  • "We had to take two courses (restaurant week) to go because an hour wasn't enough for lunch!"

  • "Don't miss out on this place! Great treats await!"

  • "Last night I went to Lincoln to try out their Restaurant Week menu. After doing some quick arithmetic, I realized that it would have been cheaper to go à la carte depending on the combination selected. When I pointed it out to my server, he was quite defensive about it. His response? Oh, you know – it's Restaurant Week. The only price I didn't see was for the desserts, which he had lied about in order to get to the $35.14 total. After this incident, he gave us awful service. The food itself, which was not the server's fault, came out tepid and you could tell they cheapened their dishes for the week. I had looked forward to trying out this place, but after this experience, I will not be going back."

  • "Compared with its next-door neighbor, Mio, Lincoln is good but nothing special as far as food goes. Love the decor and the front of house staff is very nice and super competent. I had an arugula salad with goat cheese and beets- same as everywhere else though certainly well executed. Had their signature deviled eggs with truffles. I could smell the truffles but did not detect any flavor from them. I found the filling too sweet. That may be how most people like it. I just think the food at Mio next door is much more original."

  • "Tried this place for restaurant week. The food was meh. It was hard to get ahold of the waiter. When he finally stopped by to ask if we we're ready for dessert, I informed him that I hadn't gotten my entree. It was also very noisy even though the restaurant wasn't that crowded."

  • "The menu provides for a lot of different options. But the food is only above average. From a value perspective, it is not great. Everything is more expensive than it should be. Service can be hit or miss but my experiences have been largely good. The bartenders are fantastic and can make some amazing cocktails."

  • "A nice downtown spot with a tapas-type menu and friendly service. I had a light Sunday evening dinner and it was very good."

  • "This was our second trip to Lincoln. Once again it didn't disappoint. Staff is wonderful, food is always good, love the size of the plates. A must visit when in town for us."

  • "This is my second time having dinner at Lincoln, and I'd definitely say this was a better experience than the last. The food is good, but the real stars are the cocktails and the atmosphere. Definitely a fun spot that's worth going to, but it's not going to win a James Beard anytime soon."

  • "I had high hopes for the food after a great dinner at their sister restaurant Teddy and the Bully Bar. This was passable but not fantastic. We shared the french toast dippers (awesome) and I had one of the deviled eggs, which was great, but very small. The actual entrees were a let down, nothing special but just fine."
    Dined on 8/3/2014
  • "The deviled eggs were amazing as well as their macaroni and cheese. This restaurant is quite suitable for lacto-ovo vegetarians. The price point for some of the dishes was a little too high, but still very good. We would go back again for a special occasion."

  • "Been to Lincoln a half dozen times, and have generally found it to be a convenient place for a business lunch with above average food. Have to say this time they came up a bit short. I had the french onion soup and it was pretty poor. Soggy sandwich bun crouton and cheese really needed some work. I had the salmon sandwich for the main. Rather than having a salmon filet on the bun, the salmon was ground and made into a patty making for a pretty soggy consistency. Both were specials for the day."

  • "I have high standards and was very pleased with the quality of the food at Lincoln. The beet salad, crab cake, and peach dessert tapas were excellent, and the macaroni was as good as it gets! The noise level was a little high; we were there on a Wednesday evening. Service was OK; not great, but the manager personally came to every table to see if everything was OK, which was appreciated."

  • "Lincoln had a nice selection of menu items I had a hard time choosing. The service was good, especially since it was lunch time."

  • "Good for business lunch dining. Good food, services attentive, but not over bearing."

  • "Lincoln was a really neat place with a unique menu for a reasonable price. I took my husband there for a birthday lunch and we really enjoyed it. Our appetizers were delicious, though small. The volume in there was quite loud, but we were sitting in the corner and I could hear all sorts of conversations; it's probably not so bad elsewhere. I had the pulled bbq pork grilled cheese for lunch and it was awesome. The waiter recommended the Lincoln Cuban and it was disappointing. The pork had no flavor; it was essentially a piece of pork on bread. I think the kitchen may have left off the sauce. Otherwise, Lincoln was great and I would definitely go back and try some of the other items."

  • "We went to Lincoln for brunch because I had heard so much about it and wanted to try. I was pleasantly surprised, maybe not blown away but definitely happy with the experience. I ordered the "build your own biscuit" option with eggs, bacon and cheese. It was very good, the biscuit was gigantic and very tasty! The staff was very attentive, although that may have been because for a little while we were two of a handful people there. The only negative about my experience was that I desperately needed a latte that morning but their espresso machine was broken. Overall, good food that will stick to your ribs!"

  • "This was my second time here and it was better than before. The food was great and the seating was nice. We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice and service was just as pleasant outside as it was inside. The waiter was knowledgeable and courteous. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely return in the future!"

  • "I was impressed by the value. I thought for what I paid for a dinner I received a nice ambience, beautiful layout and excellent decor. Food wasn't bad either. Definitely recommend."

  • "This was my first time at Lincoln - DC after listing it on my "bucket list" of places to try for several months. The food was wonderful! I love small plate style eating and tried multiple items which were all really delicious: traditional deviled eggs, roasted brussel sprouts, hush puppies (to die for!). The seasonal strawberry lemonade was very tempting but I opted to stick with water just to get to enjoy the food. Also, since we had a double order of the eggs they put it on a fun, vintage egg scale so two thumbs up for innovative, cool presentation! I'd definitely return again!"

  • "Great meal; however, when I checked the bill they had added 20% for tip and did not tell me."

  • "Love the concept of sharing small plates so you can try many of the incredible dishes all in one night. Every dish was outstanding, healthy and fit for foodies. The ambience is fun (next time I want to sit in the big chair!) and the service is very attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely come back again and again and recommend to out-of-town visitors."

  • "My wife and I treated a business associate and his wife from IL to dinner at Lincoln (the whole IL connection) and everything was great. Service, food, drinks, etc...100% A++"

  • "A must to try. Great food and cocktails and it changes seasonally...good atmosphere. This is a great place for large groups and for couples. This is a good place to return to often."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "We ordered the shrimp and grits, BLT, cheese platter, brussel sprouts and edamamme. Everything was delicious but the sprouts and edamame were exceptionally greasy! Overall great experience. Will be back"

  • "Two friends and I ate at Lincoln for the first time recently and it was delightful. Every single food item was delicious, but the most notable dishes we tried were the hushpuppies, deviled eggs, short ribs, and brussels sprouts. The plates are all meant to be shared but some of them are big enough to eat on your own. The décor on the inside of the restaurant was great, but we sat outside and it was great to watch people and cars go by on the street. Would definitely return!"
