Diner Reviews
  • "This was my second time here and it was better than before. The food was great and the seating was nice. We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice and service was just as pleasant outside as it was inside. The waiter was knowledgeable and courteous. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely return in the future!"

  • "I was impressed by the value. I thought for what I paid for a dinner I received a nice ambience, beautiful layout and excellent decor. Food wasn't bad either. Definitely recommend."

  • "This was my first time at Lincoln - DC after listing it on my "bucket list" of places to try for several months. The food was wonderful! I love small plate style eating and tried multiple items which were all really delicious: traditional deviled eggs, roasted brussel sprouts, hush puppies (to die for!). The seasonal strawberry lemonade was very tempting but I opted to stick with water just to get to enjoy the food. Also, since we had a double order of the eggs they put it on a fun, vintage egg scale so two thumbs up for innovative, cool presentation! I'd definitely return again!"

  • "Great meal; however, when I checked the bill they had added 20% for tip and did not tell me."

  • "Love the concept of sharing small plates so you can try many of the incredible dishes all in one night. Every dish was outstanding, healthy and fit for foodies. The ambience is fun (next time I want to sit in the big chair!) and the service is very attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely come back again and again and recommend to out-of-town visitors."

  • "My wife and I treated a business associate and his wife from IL to dinner at Lincoln (the whole IL connection) and everything was great. Service, food, drinks, etc...100% A++"

  • "A must to try. Great food and cocktails and it changes seasonally...good atmosphere. This is a great place for large groups and for couples. This is a good place to return to often."

  • "We ordered the shrimp and grits, BLT, cheese platter, brussel sprouts and edamamme. Everything was delicious but the sprouts and edamame were exceptionally greasy! Overall great experience. Will be back"

  • "My fiance and I shared 5 tapas here, and only one would I rate as of average quality in DC (the mushroom risotto, which was a special that night). The chicken in the chicken pot pie was overly dried out, the kale salad lacked flavor, and the chips with onion dip were only soso. At comparable prices to the other small plate restaurants nearby, I'd rate Lincoln tied for the worst along with B Too. Will not return."

  • "A little loud but good food with quick service. Would go back again."

  • "Fantastic food and service. When I booked the table at opentable I made a comment that it was a birthday dinner. The waitress came with a cake with a candle for desert without us ordering it. Very nice thought! The sizes of the dishes are quite big, we ordered 13 for 4 people and it was quite a lot but it was really good and tasty."

  • "Wonderful menu of small plates, creative cocktails, and an attentive and engaging staff make this an excellent place for conversation-focused meals."

  • "Had dinner on a Saturday night with a party of 4. The cocktails and dishes we had were all good, but nothing blew me away. It's a small plates format."

  • "Love the decor and ambiance. Gettysburg Address cocktail was surprisingly good and refreshing. Excellent food."

  • "The Lincoln provides the perfect atmosphere and menu for a casual business lunch. The Lincoln theme combined with the contemporary offerings are conducive for both casual and business conversation. Food is excellent and the service is friendly and quick."

  • "Chicken pot pie was delicious, as was the beet salad though it was extremely small in size. Extremely disappointed by the biscuits with ginger butter; very cold and the butter had zero flavor/ did not compliment the bread well at all. Macaroni and cheese was good as well."

  • "We really enjoyed Lincoln. The food was great, we ordered 6 plates and all of them were great. Specifically, crab cakes, scallops, and the mac and cheese. I think Lincoln is trying a bit too hard with their drinks. They were good, but felt like there was just a bit too much going on."

  • "The waitresses was super nice and knowledgeable about the area and food. Which made me and my wife a lot better about our trip."

  • "We were celebrating my friend's birthday: the waiter was very knowledgable of the menu items and answered all of our questions! I had the Short Ribs with potato purée = bliss! My friend enjoyed her dish and we both savored the Mac and Cheese. I think Lincoln has the best Mac & Cheese in DC! This was my second visit and I'm already looking forward to my third!"

  • "I took my wife here after we have been apart of 2 months. It was great. They set roses out for us at the table and the food and drinks were great! Wonderful experience for a new married couple in DC!"

  • "don't even think about it!!! restaurant was cute enough, 4th of july bbq was nice enough. out of the way, not what i pictured. others seemed to be enjoying it more than we did. however, my friend loved the sausage on the grill. signature drink was undrinkable."
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "Went for the all you can eat 4th of July BBQ and sat at the bar because of the bartender Aaron. He was the funnest part of he experience. The food was good in variety- many people came back to the grill since their burgers were too rare. I skipped it all together.Dessert could have been better. I don't like cobbler or pies and the only other selection was cookies. Not bad for 30 bucks..."

  • "I wished that I could have sampled the regular menu. I wanted to try some of the foods i read about from the reviews. There was buffet style because of the 4th of July hoilday. It was good but I think that the regular menu would have been better."

  • "The calamari fries was heavily breaded. The hubby and I shared the Cuban and one of the salads with shrimp. The Cuban wasn't piping hot when it arrived so the cheese has cooled. It wasn't that tasty too so my husband was very disappointed. The Cowboy fries was not crunchy and was an extra $3. The salad was good. We also ordered dessert. The Java Sundae was good but very heavy. There was a huge chunk of fudge under the ice cream. Would have been better with more ice cream and less fudge. It was a really hot day and more ice cream would have been perfect!"

  • "Wonderful tapas for dinner - the Brussels sprouts & the mac & cheese were our favorites. But, we really enjoyed the kale salad, short rib, shrimp & grits, and many others too! Great concept, wonderful food, and delicious drinks."

  • "My guest and I sat in the rear room, and it was unbearably loud. Literally sitting next to each other, I couldn't hear half of what was said. I've eaten at Lincoln before and the experience was always good, but I never sat in the back before and never again."

  • "This is a wonderful place for a great dining expierence (a little noisy at times) and my client and I really enjoyed it. Will go back again soon!"

  • "For a quick business lunch, my experience at Lincoln was perhaps a B-. Good: The food was quite good and served quickly, our server was friendly and attentive. Bad: We were told that a soup was vegetarian that arrived with crab meat in it (that could have been catastrophic if I had actually had seafood allergies). And, a conversation (even at a small table for two) is really difficult to manage with the noise level. It was impossible to actually conduct business because we had to shout at each other."

  • "We came here for Sunday brunch since we had never been before. There wasn't much of a wait, but I had already made reservations just in case. We sat outside since the day was so nice and all outdoor seating was in the shade. three of the four of us ordered the eggs benedict and the last one order chicken and waffles. Everything looked great, I was just a little sad I didn't order the bloody mary which also looked tasty. The one complaint I have is the red pepper bisque which was bland :-( and had minimal crab meat."

  • "Food experience was excellent and executed well. Service was not commensurate, food came promptly but attentiveness was completely lacking."

  • "We loved the Lincoln. Service and food were both outstanding. Had wonderful seating and a special surprise dessert from the waiter for my mother's first trip to D.C. at age 81! Would definitely visit again."

  • "Stumbled upon this gem for a special dinner with my boyfriend. It was fantastic! The food was great, the servers were well knowledgeable and inviting and food came quickly, not to mention was fantastic. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for delicious food and a fun atmosphere."

  • "Lincoln is a hipster vibe and a new menu. Small plates featuring American comfort foods with a twist is the order of the day. The charcuterie choices, though few, were delicious. Try the brussel sprouts! Pot Pie was so-so, but the scallops were incredible. The beet puree cocktail was oddly delicious, as were some of the other specialty cocktails. For dessert, the sundae was a real treat. Great evening out."

  • "I brought guests who are very dedicated foodies. They were so thrilled that they took pictures of each course and of the ceiling lights in the back room, asked if they could keep the menu, and one bought a T-shirt. The final perfect touch was when the waiter responded to our praise of the kale salad by handing out cards with the recipe! I have loved the food and the service at every visit, and will be back, especially whenever my companions are adventurous enough to deserve it."

  • "But he would be at this restaurant. So many great options. So many layers to each dish. A great experience even though at ¾ full it got a little loud. But there is a ton to love about this place. The decor is fun and engaging and the kitchen is absolutely killing the competition. Reasonably priced and totally worth it."

  • "I work next door to the Lincoln. I've dined here infrequently since the week they opened. The food has been inventive and delicious. However. Since POTUS dined 2 years ago they jacked up their prices and decreased the quality of their food, apparently. A "bowl" of soup (less than 8 fluid ounces of creamed red pepper soup with a teaspoon of cold crab on top) and a cold, hard, tasteless piece of trout on an unimaginative Arugula salad came to $25 (not counting tip). That's really steep for a DC lunch, in a location surrounded mostly by civil servants enduring 3 years of pay cuts. Small wonder their business is falling way, way off. I won't return."

  • "It was our first time here! I made reservations weeks in advance. As soon as I ordered I was told they ran out of salmon, so no city breakfast nor Egg Benedict for me. So I just ordered the lincoln. My son ordered cinnamon French toast something only to get 4 stick looking pieces on his plate for $14?! No eggs, sausage included on that plate! My husband ordered pancakes, grits and sausage! They brought out our food but no pancakes. After 15 min we had to ask what happened to the pancakes. They were talking about the kitchen is backed up. We ate most of our brunch but really didn't enjoy it all. We got there at 2:10 and were out of there 3:10! So how backed up could the kitchen have been? Oh and the music was way to loud too...."

  • "I had a great night with the lady here, just incredible food and a great feel. I was worried that the concept would be a little too touristy/kitschy, but the Abe Lincoln theme works really well. The waiter got a little mixed up, but I think it was because they misheard us (the music isn't loud, but it isn't soft either). Overall, a great experience that was worth every penny."
