Lincoln - DCA fun dining experienceLincoln is a new American, small plates type of place and was delicious! A bit on the pricey side; however, Lincoln afforded the opportunity to try various innovative dishes with ingredients which might not be typically ordered at other places. I was very pleased with the waitress' knowledge of the menu and her eagerness to suggest items to try when we couldn't decide. Great place!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI enjoyed lunch with you yesterday.I enjoyed lunch with you yesterday. It was a special occasion for us and we enjoyed it all. Thank you.
You're tee-shirts make a great souvenir of the day.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFarm to Table very goodWe had a great lunch and excellent service from Don.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch with JillGreat service with Jill and the ambience was amazing. Good place for brunch with friends and the dj was on point.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service, good food.Service was great, outdoor seating was nice, food was pretty good. I liked the brussel sprouts and scallops, The shrimp and grits and the baked brie were meh.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNoisy but deliciousMy wife and I dind at Lincoln at 6:30pm, on a Friday. For a smaller restaurant, it manages to generate a fairly high noise level, but please don't let that deter you. We chose six different small plates and shared a dessert. Each item was both excellent in conception and balance (yes, I have been watching too many cooking shows). The flavors were subtle but perfectly chosen. In all, it was one of the best meals I have had in a long while (my wife would agree). The fact that they emphasize local, sustainable ingredients is also great. Our server was friendly and attentive. The Bussers are zealous in removing empty dishes and the manager wwas interested in our opinion of a new dessert that we tried (sweet potato pound cake, delicious) .6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing experience! What an amazing experience! The food was incredible as were the drinks! So many small plates to choose from with so many unexpected combinations on the plates. When asked later which of the 6 plates were my favorite I had an incredibly hard time picking a favorite! It was slightly loud but the ambiance, and food completely made up for this! Not only would I strongly recommend this restaurant to my friends, but I'm also looking forward to going back soon!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall Serving FunLincoln is great for tasting multiple dishes shared amongst friends. Expect to sample food on a three different dishes per guest multiplier and be ready to leave pleasantly plump. Personally, our group would have preferred a firmer eggplant, but the deviled eggs are the best in town.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLunchA trout and asparagas salad well prepared nicely served. Lunch moved along without feeling hurried. Recommended6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA Go-ToThe food at Lincoln was delicious. As my second time there, I was impressed with the attention and kindness of the waiters. Greeted with a smile and well prepared food (I ordered the salmon while my friend ordered the shrimp and grits), I will happily go back!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb experienceThe food was excellent, and the drinks were even better, but the experience of dining at Lincoln is what stands out the most. The staff clearly care about your experience and ensuring it is something memorable. For the food, our standout dish was probably the grilled asparagus and the Gettysburg Address was a great and uniquely refreshing cocktail. Cutting the review short but could go on; highly recommend this restaurant.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat small platesCome with friends and make a meal of shared small plates. Really enjoyed the sweet potato risotto, the kale salad, and the shrimp and grits (and I'm not usually a fan of grits). Try the Gettysburg Address: Square One Botanical vodka, Veev acai liqueur, beet puree (yes, beets!), fresh lemon, & ginger syrup. Delicious! Our server got a few things wrong but made corrections cheerfully, and the manager came by several times to chat with us.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI had originally made my reservatioI had originally made my reservation using open table but changed the timing and guest size about 3 times day of-which is pretty annoying. Whenever i called to change i talked to maggie who was accomodating and friendly when i easily could have been brushed off for calling so many times. when we got there (and finally met the host who had dealt with me earlier that day) she was really nice got us seated right away. good sercice continued with our server doug and even a manager came and talked to us to make sure things were ok. mixed reviews on the food- i could have done without the crab hush puppies, but the brussel sprouts and shrimp& grtiz were awesome. all in all it was an awesome experience. i'd also recommend the emancipation punch!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for an informalGreat place for an informal business lunch. The menu is creative. I wished I had time to try a dessert, but next time I will.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAll around great.Great food, drinks and cocktails. Not one step was missed during our experience. Lots to see and experience here and it's all done tastefully.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLincoln is fab.I am not usually one for tapas... but that is a thing of the past since I went to Lincoln this weekend. What a totally wonderful experience. First the decor - it is awesome - totally well done! It is eclectic, interesting and makes you feel like you're someplace special. Then the service - it is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Food came out quickly... everything came out exactly as ordered. Everything with a smile, and keen eye to making our experience the best. When our waiter noticed that we were intriqued by the decor, he offered us a full tour of the restaurant! Lastly, the food. Delicious! The beignet's were incredible! The oysters were special. Everything was top quality, from start to finish. Can't wait to go back!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent foodOur dinner was terrific - all the dishes were great. Especially excellent zucchini dessert, very unusual and delicious.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the small plates. ServerLoved the small plates. Server made helpful and yummy suggestions (truffle oil on the Cowboy Fries). Signature cocktails great. Nice space - happening on Friday night but not overpowering. Had a great time.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey small plates; but yummyEnjoyed a 'date night' with my husband at Lincoln last week and it was very good -- albeit quite pricey. Reminiscent of London's Caravan restaurant, this restaurant is all about, fresh, locally sourced 'small plates'. We enjoyed well-cooked deviled eggs, brussels sprouts, steak, and crispy trout, and a poppy seed pound cake for dessert. Cocktails were fresh and light, and service was attentive. The atmosphere is very buzzy and a great place for happy hour. The only thing stopping me from rating this place as Excellent is the value for money. Otherwise, very good food and a hip vibe.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat for a groupWe had a large group for a ladies' night out and it was the perfect restaurant. The American "tapas" let us share and try lots of dishes. The food was great, very creative. The deviled eggs in the chicken dish was hilarious...and very good!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMgood for sunday brunchI've only been for brunch and both times the food was delicious. It gets quite lively, especially considering the DJ and the unlimited breakfast cocktails that come with the buffet, so it's probably better for a younger crowd rather than brunch with your grandparents.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodI had a really great time at Lincoln the other night for dinner. We came early Sunday so it wasn't to loud or busy(a great trick if you want to avoid the loudness other reviewers mentioned). Everything that we ordered was great as far as the food but the standouts were the grilled asparagus and the duck sausage.Since it was our first visit our server Jimmy helped us out a lot by going over the menu and giving us great suggestions. We will definitely be coming back!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to Lincoln this pastI went to Lincoln this past weekend with my boyfriend; we had been wanting to try it for while and had heard incredible reviews from friends who had gone. I was most definitely not disappointed. The food was INCREDIBLE, the service was terrific, and the entire experience was fantastic. The restaurant does small plates so you get to try a bunch of different dishes. Here is a list of food we ordered: crab risotto (unbelievable), fried green tomatoes (a special, fantastic), duck sausage (was wrapped in a pastry, amazing), mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, tuna tar tar, short ribs. The waitress told us that the owners are opening up a new restaurant this summer as well, and I can assure you I will be first in line.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMalways a pleasant dining experiencealways a pleasant dining experience. all the food is amazing!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat cocktails and deviled eggs!Wanted a low key place for my fiancee's birthday celebration and Lincoln fit the bill. Warm ambiance (we were lucky to sit outdoors - they have two tables with cushy booths outside - if you plan to sit outside, request them!) and interesting cocktails (I had something with beets which was good, not fantastic, but prompted a fun discussion on use of fruits and veggies in drinks). There were four of us and we all love deviled eggs - theirs are GREAT (traditional, salmon and bacon better than crab). Fried pickles, brussel sprouts and mac & cheese also great starters. Mains of shrimp and grits and scallops yummy but we would have just as well liked another round of starters! Overall, great b-day decision and we'll be back.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGetting stronger each timeLincoln continues to improve each time out. This week, I had the opportunity to dine at Lincoln twice, once for a group dinner and once for lunch. Both times were great. The group dinner had a variety of appetizers and entrees that were outstanding, but the smoked salmon with latkes, the gnocchi and the steak stood out. What was particularly notable was the perfect potion size. Not to small and not overwhelming. The service by the staff also was perfect. Very attentive in getting our group off to a good start, good pacing of our three courses, and then gave us space to relaxing and enjoy the evening.
Lunch was equally good, however the noise level inside was a bit challenging. The crab cobb salad was terrific.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThirsty ThursdayWe had a group of 10 girls and every single one of us was pleased. Not only with our meal, but the service and the drinks. Thanks so much for a nice night!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food, interesting decor. We were seated in a 'room within a room' in the dining area - closed in on 3 sides by movable glass paneled doors - really reduced the noise level to a level where we could talk without shouting. Our server and the floor manager checked on us frequently, but not annoyingly so. We enjoyed our lunch choices very much, including the made to order lemonade. Expect to pay about $45 to 65 - depending on drink, dessert and tip choices.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMlove this one, local produce, love this one, local produce, organic and delicious!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI'll be back.I met a friend for lunch. We were glad we had reservations as it filled up fast. Very good selections. Good service. Terrific food. We thought it might get loud but it was fine for two people. Check out what the floor is made of....5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting menu and funEnjoyed dining here. Food came quickly and all the dishes were all excellent. The specialty menu is large and the drink was also good. Will go back.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodWas a great night, food and service were amazing. Leftovers the next day were just as great. For sure heading back to Lincoln.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFlowing kitchenFlowing kitchen meant no control on what you get when. A smart way to not take responsibility for
Managing the kitchen. I got my main course while my husband waited another 10 minutes for his to come out.
Even with this random delivery we would go back5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is my second time coming. This is my second time coming. Loved it once again. The food is outstanding and the drinks are great to. Awesome theme and the menu never gets old. The chef switches items up which really makes me want to keep coming back. I was sitting outside on a gorgeous night, and then it started pouring. The umbrellas protected us from the rain and really made for a great experience. I would come back anytime and look forward to it.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMNewfound DelightThis was my first visit to Lincoln and I would describe this restaurant as a neighborhood gem. Our waitress was charming and attentive, as were the other members of the staff who came to visit our table. The food was well presented and arrived in just the right portions in addition to the already available tapas plates. I treated myself to a very tasty Malbec in what I'd describe as a nicely selective wine menu, sure to please both one's palate and entrée pairing.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for a date... I workWent for a date... I work in fine dining had an amazing experience... nothing else to say5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMYes, you should eat hereSeveral reasons why: great atmosphere - warning-the later you go the louder it will be; a great variety of small plates to sample and share; the excellent server Yassine and his colleagues, especially Eric; the hangar steak, sweet potato risotto, the short ribs, the lemony dessert, the wine list, the roasted eggplant and did I mention the short ribs? Down side ? The Mac and cheese was a bit soupy and the asparagus salad was confusing and the way it was plated made it difficult to eat. The staff is super friendly and helpful so let them guide you through the experience.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAssessmentToday I dined at an eatery where the food cost as much as Lincoln, but the quality was awful. I thought that if Lincloin was your competition -- your customers would have a better option for their dining dollars. In short, the other restaurant would be put out of business! Moreover, their customers might ask themselves: why did we tolerate such poor quality food for so long? I spent many years in F&B as a manager, owner and consultant. The quality of your food is outstanding.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, great serviceI went for brunch on a Sunday. The food was good and the was a DJ playing some great throwbacks, particularly "Scatman". Our server, Jill, was very attentive and accommodating. I will definitely be returning!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love this placeI took my fiancé there for date night. The food was great and do were the Kentucky Derby themed drink. We love going to the Lincoln for brunch and dinner.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI live in the neighborhoodI live in the neighborhood so I frequent lincoln and always have a great time. It's always nice being a regular somewhere, but at a place like lincoln that gets especially crowded when the patio furtniture is out i really appreciate that the staff recognizes and appreciates my business-great service really starts at the door.
as far as food goes- i highly recommend the scallops and kale salad for something lighter. on the heavier side, the chicken pot pie and mac and cheese are amazing.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVibrant with Great FoodThis place was very loud and "energetic" doesn't quite do it justice (we were there 8:30pm on a Friday. Don't expect to have a quiet meal here - but since we weren't there for that, it was easy to get caught up in the energy of the place. Great service was attentive without being over the top. The small plate style of this place meant that my wife and I could sample a lot of different foods without feeling stuffed. The fact that the food comes out "when its ready" means it's hot and allows you the opportunity to have what is effectively multiple courses. The food was universally very good and we enjoyed all of it. The wine list is over-priced but offered a good selection.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch ReviewWe thoroughly enjoyed Blackened Swordfish and Chopped Salad. Service was very attentive and timely. Great looking restaurant.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI went with a couple of friendsI went with a couple of friends for lively weeknight get-together and we had a wonderful time. We ordered, the kale salad, calamari fries, shrimp and grits, asparagus salad, short ribs, mac and cheese, and maybe a few other thing that I can’t remember. I would return for the kale salad alone (I hope they keep it on the menu) but everything was tasty and well presented. Our waiter, Lou, was fun and informative about both the menu and the “Lincolnalia”; he came back to check with us often enough to make sure we had what we needed to keep the party going. The room was a bit loud but we all agreed that we should visit again soon.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLincoln was awesome- i loveLincoln was awesome- i love the seasonal small plates. Our server's name was Jimmie and he was very helpful. We told him what we were looking for and let him pick out most of our plates and he did a wonderful job! I would definitely recommend the mac and cheese, the kale salad was light and fresh. It was a bit loud but it was a vibrant place and the bar was full the entire evening. It was a little windy by the end of the night so we didn't take advantage of the outdoor seating but maybe another time for happy hour. Will be coming back here for sure!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMServer distracted + rest. too noisyThe food at Lincoln was good, but our server kept forgetting to bring us things we ordered. We had to ask 2-3 times for drinks, side dishes. etc. Plus food was not cooked properly, though we discussed it thoroughly, and had to be sent back. Also, we sat outside for brunch as it is way too loud inside. It sounded like a club in Adams Morgan on a Friday night and I am not into that for Sunday brunch. Too bad as I like Lincoln but they need to button it up.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOriginal ambience which revolvesOriginal ambience which revolves around the Lincoln theme. Food was conforting and original at the same time. Loved their take on delived eggs and mac and cheese.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food. Great ambiance.Amazing food. Great ambiance. I want to go back asap4/26/2013 12:00:00 AM2 out of 3 times was blown away.I have been here three times. Each dish is truly amazing and I love the atmosphere. My last experience was not perfect but I'm willing to continue going here now that I know what dishes to avoid. Risotto and gnocchi are favorites as well as kale salad.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a great meal but theIt was a great meal but the restaurant is so loud! It was hard to hear the people at our table talking and the restaurant wasn't even completely full.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
