Food came quickly and all the dishes were all excellent. The specialty menu is large and the drink was also good. Will go back.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodWas a great night, food and service were amazing. Leftovers the next day were just as great. For sure heading back to Lincoln.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFlowing kitchenFlowing kitchen meant no control on what you get when. A smart way to not take responsibility for
Managing the kitchen. I got my main course while my husband waited another 10 minutes for his to come out.
Even with this random delivery we would go back5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMNewfound DelightThis was my first visit to Lincoln and I would describe this restaurant as a neighborhood gem. Our waitress was charming and attentive, as were the other members of the staff who came to visit our table. The food was well presented and arrived in just the right portions in addition to the already available tapas plates. I treated myself to a very tasty Malbec in what I'd describe as a nicely selective wine menu, sure to please both one's palate and entrée pairing.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for a date... I workWent for a date... I work in fine dining had an amazing experience... nothing else to say5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMYes, you should eat hereSeveral reasons why: great atmosphere - warning-the later you go the louder it will be; a great variety of small plates to sample and share; the excellent server Yassine and his colleagues, especially Eric; the hangar steak, sweet potato risotto, the short ribs, the lemony dessert, the wine list, the roasted eggplant and did I mention the short ribs? Down side ? The Mac and cheese was a bit soupy and the asparagus salad was confusing and the way it was plated made it difficult to eat. The staff is super friendly and helpful so let them guide you through the experience.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, great serviceI went for brunch on a Sunday. The food was good and the was a DJ playing some great throwbacks, particularly "Scatman". Our server, Jill, was very attentive and accommodating. I will definitely be returning!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love this placeI took my fiancé there for date night. The food was great and do were the Kentucky Derby themed drink. We love going to the Lincoln for brunch and dinner.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI live in the neighborhoodI live in the neighborhood so I frequent lincoln and always have a great time. It's always nice being a regular somewhere, but at a place like lincoln that gets especially crowded when the patio furtniture is out i really appreciate that the staff recognizes and appreciates my business-great service really starts at the door.
as far as food goes- i highly recommend the scallops and kale salad for something lighter. on the heavier side, the chicken pot pie and mac and cheese are amazing.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVibrant with Great FoodThis place was very loud and "energetic" doesn't quite do it justice (we were there 8:30pm on a Friday. Don't expect to have a quiet meal here - but since we weren't there for that, it was easy to get caught up in the energy of the place. Great service was attentive without being over the top. The small plate style of this place meant that my wife and I could sample a lot of different foods without feeling stuffed. The fact that the food comes out "when its ready" means it's hot and allows you the opportunity to have what is effectively multiple courses. The food was universally very good and we enjoyed all of it. The wine list is over-priced but offered a good selection.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch ReviewWe thoroughly enjoyed Blackened Swordfish and Chopped Salad. Service was very attentive and timely. Great looking restaurant.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI went with a couple of friendsI went with a couple of friends for lively weeknight get-together and we had a wonderful time. We ordered, the kale salad, calamari fries, shrimp and grits, asparagus salad, short ribs, mac and cheese, and maybe a few other thing that I can’t remember. I would return for the kale salad alone (I hope they keep it on the menu) but everything was tasty and well presented. Our waiter, Lou, was fun and informative about both the menu and the “Lincolnalia”; he came back to check with us often enough to make sure we had what we needed to keep the party going. The room was a bit loud but we all agreed that we should visit again soon.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLincoln was awesome- i loveLincoln was awesome- i love the seasonal small plates. Our server's name was Jimmie and he was very helpful. We told him what we were looking for and let him pick out most of our plates and he did a wonderful job! I would definitely recommend the mac and cheese, the kale salad was light and fresh. It was a bit loud but it was a vibrant place and the bar was full the entire evening. It was a little windy by the end of the night so we didn't take advantage of the outdoor seating but maybe another time for happy hour. Will be coming back here for sure!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOriginal ambience which revolvesOriginal ambience which revolves around the Lincoln theme. Food was conforting and original at the same time. Loved their take on delived eggs and mac and cheese.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food. Great ambiance.Amazing food. Great ambiance. I want to go back asap4/26/2013 12:00:00 AM2 out of 3 times was blown away.I have been here three times. Each dish is truly amazing and I love the atmosphere. My last experience was not perfect but I'm willing to continue going here now that I know what dishes to avoid. Risotto and gnocchi are favorites as well as kale salad.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food; Way too loud onGreat food; Way too loud on Fridays (7 pm) to hear oneself speak in a normal voice. Earplugs would be good to bring along.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a great meal but theIt was a great meal but the restaurant is so loud! It was hard to hear the people at our table talking and the restaurant wasn't even completely full.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time I have been, enjoyedFirst time I have been, enjoyed the food, wait staff friendly, but service is slow and we had to ask for refills. Loved the interior design. Will return.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGood experienceGood experience. Decent value of generally well executed small plates. Pricing not inconsistent with DC market. Fine to experience at least once; not sure I would come back again and again. Wines by the glass were a bit over priced (e.g. $11 glass for $14 retail bottles of wine - should max price at $8). Service was sufficiently attentive and polite.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a great culinary experiment-It was a great culinary experiment-friendly staff will be back again in May! Looking foreword to it!
A bit noisy but the good and service overshadowed that!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHe would be proudThe food, service and atmosphere are amazing. However, don't go expecting a quiet romantic night. This noise level matches the energetic decor and waitstaff. I am sure this is how President Lincoln would have wanted a restaurant that with his namesake. All around us there were people, laughing, talking and having a great time.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place! Their foodLove this place! Their food is absolutley fabulous.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy hour was loud, but lookedHappy hour was loud, but looked like lots of fun! Quiet dinner would have been better after 8:30 - but being there early didn't take away from a wonderful dinner, great tapas selections. Our waiter Moses was fun, filled with great recommendations, explanations and attentive to our every need! We loved it!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery pleasantly surprisedVery pleasantly surprised at my last-minute choice. Lincoln has an intriguing menu with many options I wanted to try. The food was very good. Fish specials excellent but smaller than I wanted - though plenty! Duck sausage app good but didn't taste like duck; crab hushpuppies had surprisingly good texture and hint of crab flavor. Our server was newish (fmr busboy) and charmingly earnest, polite, and attentive; host was delightful; but floor manager in his drive-by was a bit overbearing/E Eur. gangster in tone asking "how is everything" in a way that meant you could only say "good!". Restaurant decor spot-on with three very different rooms, but still needs more noise dampening; banquette seat comfortable which isn't always the case.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest lunch spot aroundKnown for its all Lincoln décor, including a floor covered in pennies (ask them how many!), Lincoln also serves up great food. It is one of my favorite lunch places, and is near my office. The food is all locally sourced and put together in some great combinations, and the daily lemonade concoctions are not to be missed.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you haven't been to Lincoln, go!Lincoln is nothing short of fantastic. Delicious & locally-based food (save room for dessert--you won't regret it), interesting cocktails, friendly & knowledgeable service, and absolutely amazing decor. A definite gem. I especially recommend the bottomless brunch, with waffle bar (gingerbread waffles!). We have visited several times, for both brunch and dinner...and loved it so much that we even hosted our wedding dinner in one of their private rooms.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for Easter Brunch,We went for Easter Brunch, which was excellent! Also, the manager noticed that we had made an addition error (in their favor) on the check, brought it to our attention, so we could correct it (in our favor). A nice and welcome touch! The back room was much quieter than the front room, for those looking for conversation.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe just spent 4 days in DCWe just spent 4 days in DC and this was by far our very favorite restaurant! The server did an excellent job of explaining the menu (share everything!). Everything we ordered was delicious. The food is American and traces its roots to authentic cuisine (hence Lincoln). Their signature cocktails were delicious. The restaurant is loud - but we managed!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood GemThis place is FULL of history (7,000 pennies make up the floor!) The food is locally sourced and ABSOLUTELY delicious.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAbe RocksGreat place. Have been several times and have never been disappointed. Great food, helpful staff, very unique motif. Go there now. I love Abe!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA floor made of pennies?!Really enjoyed the small plates. The service was great but our table was at an awkward spot. The atmosphere was energetic and fun.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious & ample tapasOur party of 8 really enjoyed Lincoln. The penny floor and pennies as buttons in the white banquette are fascinating for the kids, too. The food was outstanding and ample for tapas - two options per person with passing around for bites is plenty. Brussels sports, cooked carrots and kale salad were great. The jam jars were just okay. We had 2 kids with us (ages 9 & 11) but I think it is too loud for younger kids or seniors who might find it hard to follow the conversation.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMService and staff were wonderful.Service and staff were wonderful. The food was fresh and flavorful. I would absolutely go back and have recommended it to my friend's for brunch this Sunday.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an enjoyable experienceWe had an enjoyable experience at Lincoln. The small plates we selected were fabulous from the presentation to the palate. It was a great way to begin the evening before attending a show at Fords Theatre. We will definitely return when we have more time to experience the other menu items.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely amazing food andAbsolutely amazing food and fabulous cocktails. Went to celebrate my birthday with family and while at times it was a little loud to have a conversation, it was not really a problem. The food was so good and the service was fantastic. We weren't disappointed at all. My favorite was the bone marrow and biscuits. The biscuits were basically butter which was great. I could have just eaten those the entire night. We had too much to highlight every dish. They were all wonderful. Everyone must go to this place. Also the floor is all pennies. Hilarious!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place! Love the decor.Great place! Love the decor. Very interesting menu choices. Went for lunch and will be sure to go back again for dinner. Our server was wonderful and the rest of the staff was pleasant and attentive. We told our server it was my husbands birthday and she brought us a free dessert with a candle for him. Very pleased overall3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything about this placeEverything about this place is amazing! They also have the best desserts in the city.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMService was great! WaitressService was great! Waitress was very patient as we probably stayed too long talking after the check was settled. The kale salad was amazing!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTired of Latin American Tapas?Tired of the latin american tapas menus with teeny tiny servings? Then this is the place for you. This is a great small plates restaurant that serves american food in smaller size portions - all the better so guests can choose a few of the great items. But you will not leave hungry if you only order two items. My 16yo son and I ordered 5 items to share and it was plenty. The brussels sprouts dish was delicious, as was the macaroni and cheese. We had some spinach and artichoke beignets and then had one of the risotto specials and a pork entree. There were plenty of salads to choose from as well. A true vegan would have trouble finding a variety to choose from, but everyone else will have trouble choosing.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch time!As always, Lincoln is a delight! Attentive service and food that is quite good. That mac 'n cheese probably deserves a warning label!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMI'd Go BackReally cool decor. Good interesting food that doesn't skimp too much on the portions.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service was superb. The food and service was superb. However the noise level was distracting. It was difficult to have a normal conversation because it was hard to hear the person across the table from me.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMour only concern was the acousticsour only concern was the acoustics made conversation difficult3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI was pleasantly surprisedI was pleasantly surprised by lunch at Lincoln never having dined there before. We were lucky enough to be seated by one of the front windows which enhanced the experience there. The server was polite, friendly and helpful all at once. The food was quite good and there was an adequately wide range of dishes to choose from among. Lunch for two, without liquor, was $40 which is a remarkable bargain for such an upscale restaurant. I will definitely plan to visit again.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AManother great night at lincoln!another great night at lincoln! great food and cocktails! Justin provides outstanding service! very personable and warm! always ask for him!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good experience there...secondVery good experience there...second time in 10 days!!..3/4/2013 12:00:00 AMInaugural Brunch to RememberMy group had a great time at Lincoln during the Presidential Inauguration weekend. The food was spectacular...we enjoyed the unlimited brunch with bottomless mimosas. It was a little pricey, but well worth it. Will definitely be dining here again. The best part was the DJ. The music added a nice flavor to the brunch experience.1/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
